When it slipped that they had some library wines, I pushed for the 2007 Big Papa for a special occasion later this year and grabbed the Paulie GSM. If my budget allowed, I would have grabbed the Adrienne Chenin, which had a powerful green apple and floral nose but gave way to a very delicate, understated palate. Surprisingly they also have a small parking lot which is nice due to the stadiums and experiences in the area. The bar area is very clean and has a trendy modern look. I had the best time visiting Efeste downtown before the Ed Sheeran concert. I also work at a winery, so I love to visit other winery's in the area. The selection and staff were great. They also had sparkling wine available for bottle purchases. We split one of the flatbreads and it was really good. The sauce was amazing on the pizza and we were told it is made from scratch. We stopped by for a wine tasting, lunch, and a game of cribbage before seeing a show at WAMU theater. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable about the wine. I had the best chipotle chicken corn chowder, perfect for a grey Seattle afternoon. There is a large selection of hand tossed pizza and craft beer on tap. This is easy to get to before Mariners, Sounders, or Seahawks game. This is a dog friendly facility and plenty of room for large groups. I highly recommend Efeste Sodo. read more

Out for a day of wine tasting in SODO and started at Efeste. I had previously had their wine, but had not been in their tasting room. Their room is quite large with plenty of seating for tasting and chatting with friends. There are a few games available to play as well while you taste. We used the Street Cred wine tasting passports and were promptly started on our tastings. The tastings ranged from a very nice, dry Riesling to their hearty Syrah. 5 in all, and very generous pours. Our server was very pleasant and gave us lots of info on the wines, their terrior and a little history of the winery and winemakers. There is food for sale as well, which is nice so as not to not drink alcohol on an empty stomach. You can purchase wine by the glass or by the bottle and enjoy. We are definitely returning for the Rose release in the spring! read more

We came with a large group for our wedding weekend welcome party (communicated this beforehand) and was told they would let our guests do separate tabs. The woman at the bar disregarded this, then when we corrected her she was condescending, rude, and unpleasant to everyone. The door was open and I walked in as I needed a drink before an event. The woman promptly got really mad and rudely pointed finger toward the door and kicked me out. I felt like a trash because that's what she treated me like, if I have not been a confident person of knowing right and wrong morals! This type of rudeness in existence in a wine business is completely unnecessary! My 1st visit to this area since pandemi and this treatment towards certain people is well known. I even asked her if i can just pay cash for a can of a drink! She got even more rude with her expression and demeanor. I have NEVER seen anyone this rude in ANY WINERY or tasting room. I have been to dozens of wineries including Napa & Willamette and many wine shows. Walked in. Was told she's too busy to pour for us and no washed glasses. Still enjoyed myself...place was buzzing then she came by and asked us to be quiet. All tables were having a great time and elevated and she came to ours to ask that we keep it down. Keep in mind I'm the only person of color and not only have you singled me out...everyone else was louder than our group. My friend actually offered to help do dishes for her to take some stress off her working alone on a busy day. She sharply negated said offer and continued to disrespect us. With better staffing this could be a great business for a certain skin color. I expected better. Disappointed. With new staffing I would return...not the wine's fault. Upsetting. read more
