WORST PLACE TO TAKE YOUR CAR FOR REPAIR. INCOMPETENT MECHANICS: please do not Joe or Trey or Pat near your car. They misdiagnosed my car telling me to change Water Pump when in actuality it was a Tension Pulley issue causing the noise. This was simply ascertained by an non-mechanic person within a minute. Pat's mechanics, Joe and Trey could not put a simple gasket on an Oil Pan on a car. Within a day of having them change the gasket I had all my Engine oil leaked out causing my engine to almost knock. Pat's mechanics also made me spend money fixing things that weren't wrong in my car like brakes. FRAUDULENT AND DISHONEST: They rummaged through my car. I had to go back there the next day to demand return of my belonging. They also tried to deny me service for something I had already paid for. Had a small RV towed to a transmission shop..Charged me $200 cash... the insurance company was supposed to reimburse me, but sent the check to Pat's instead...Went to Pat's three times to have hime give me the $200 reimbursement, which he has refused to do..I will be filing a complaint with several state agencies and possibly suing him in small claims...big hassle ..very dishonest...The West Warwick PD describes him as a "weasel"... Gave one star because there is nothing less. read more

The reviews don't lie!!!! Paid $65 for my inspection because "he didn't have change". He failed me for wind shield wipers and told me to come back with new ones in the morning. Next morning he says He cannot give me a sticker because "it's gonna fail for something else" which was odd, given that just 14 hours prior to this he gave me a passing emissions & the only thing I failed for was the wipers- according to the document PAT himself printed for me. I left that day and went straight to the emissions office in Providence. They looked at my new wipers and I was able to register my car. Afterwards, I filed a complaint with the chief of emissions. It's against the law in RI to charge more than $55 for a state inspection and I was also told that Pats Service Station could only Reinspect the things they failed me for. (Which was only Wipers) Pat insisted if I wanted a sticker, he would redo the entire inspection. Once he found out I was filing a complaint, he called back and said "you think your gonna get me in trouble? better call my assistant for the sticker" DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY & DO NOT LET THIS PLACE TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU!!! Took a car there for a simple inspection okay. I've been an inspector for 20 years. I had already gone through the whole car and did a whole bunch of work to pass inspection. new exhaust, engine work, computer problems, ball joints, all kinds of stuff. Take it to them just for a simple inspection and i'm very patient i didn't wait with it i dropped it off with them in the morning for the entire day. To do something , that I know, takes 20 minutes to do. Then i hear nothing from them that whole day, fine whatever. I don't call them, don't bother them, then on day 3 okay the woman calls me and tells me the car won't move. She says it starts up but they give it gas and it won't move.. I had been driving the car for 2 weeks making sure the computer was all gonna pass inspection, i knew there was nothing wrong with the car, but i didn't argue i just dropped what i was doing and went right over there, get in the car, start it up, its perfectly fine. back it up from the spot it was in drive it around to the garage, bang no problem. Now this is just an automatic it isn't very hard to drive i don't know what their damm problem with that was but I'd been driving the car every day for 2 weeks with zero problems. so thats about noon time now on day 3 i figure ok great i'll be hearing from them today. nothing. but i'm patient, i don't wanna break balls, i just leave it be. then he calls me late the next day . Day 4. and tells me my rotors are too thin. no way the rotors are fine but he tells me they are too thin and the brakes and rotors need to be replaced. now i know that isn't true , and he could see i had just done tons of work on the car, so to break my balls about some rotors being too thin, i've never in my life seen an inspector measure rotors but anyways whatever fine i still do not argue, i just asked him if he could put the sticker on for me and im gonna do the brakes no problem and of course he wouldn't, he tells me get the brakes put on today and just bring it back you'll get your sticker. so fair enough i go to pick up the car. the guy takes over an hour, yes over an hour just to pull the car out of the garage for me. i was sitting up the front just talking to the lady, took a stroll to dunkin donuts, over an hour just to pull a car out of the garage for me, by that point its too late in the day for me to get the brakes done and get it back to him so he says to just come tomorrow which was Saturday and i'll do the retest after you fix it.... fine..... whatever.... so i get the car back, they keep my registration since i'm coming back the next day right, so Saturday i go there early and the dude there tells me the owner isn't there to check back Monday.. .i'm like he told me he would do it today, so i just called back there a little later and the guy refused to do it. he just said no I'm busy i'm not doing it today. I'm only asking him to look through the wheels and he can see it has brand new brakes and print a sticker, something i know takes about 1 minute but he refused to do it, and i was going away the next day i basically begged him to do it and he just wouldn't said check with me next week. so i go away on vacation for 5 days and i come back. I go in there and ask them very nicely 1.) for my registration, and 2.) for a day and time to bring it back. I explained it isn't my car, and i just need to know a day and a time to bring it back for the retest. the guy tells me no problem just bring it back and ill do it.... but they did give me the registration... 2 days later we take the car back, and yet again, he refuses to do it, and says check with me tomorrow. now this was a simple inspection, on a car that had nothing wrong with it. When i put the brakes on it just to shut him up, i measured the rotors with a actual tool, and they 100% did not fail inspection. He dragged a simple inspection on a car with nothing wrong something that a normal person would bang out in ten minutes, into something that has dragged on for weeks. man seriously i know hes old i was wicked patient and wicked nice but its almost like hes deliberately messing with me and trying to waste my dam time, cuz hes sure wasted a whole lot of it.! And now i'm out the 55 bucks i paid them cuz we had to take it somewhere else for an inspection. we had to find a shop that knew how to drive automatics. read more

My 86 year old Dad bought a car from Pat. It was apiece of junk and just barely ran, but Pat assured my Dad that he (Pat) would fix everything that was wrong with it. Because my Dad was in desperate need for a car, he gave Pat $3,500 for a 2006 Hundai Santa Fe with 159,000 miles on it. My Dad was just barely able to get it home when the engine seized up and Pat sent his truck out to pick it up. It has been in Pat,s garage for over three months. Pat claims that he is going to put another engine in it and make it right. I'm going to go over and pick up some of my Dad's belongings out of the car because he left the bill of sale in the glove box. Without it it will be tough to prove the sale so we can take him to court and sue him for the $3,500 back. I don't think he will be willing to give the money back as he is known by the WW Police as a "weazel" and very dishonest businessman! I will continue this post once I have picked up the papers from the glove box and notified a lawyer. Please avoid doing any business with Pat's Service Station. His gasoline prices are the lowest in West Warwick, but I assume this is only a ploy to pull in customers for service work by winning their confidence in his "honest" business practices.
