"Through the long lonely nights she filled my sleep Her body softly swaying to that smoky beat Down on Main Street" (Bob Seger) Yes, the store is super colorful. And yes, the ice cream variety is impressive. And yes, the staff was super nice and friendly. And yes, they have tons of parking in the back. And yes, they have quite a bit of outdoor seating. But wait until you see their sprinkles, or Jimmies depending on where you grew up. Holy crap! I've never seen a spread of sprinkles or a jumble of jimmies like I saw here. Spiderman sprinkles? Iron Man Jimmies? Stars and Stripes Sprinkles? Garden State Sprinkles? Yup, they have all these and more at Pat's. My small dish of Black Raspberry Chocolate Chunk Yogurt was fantastic. I didn't even regret that I skipped any sprinkles.

I love pats ice cream ! I have come here a ton of times and always forget to leave a review. The soft serve pistachio is my usual go to unless I'm having a prego craving or something else lol I like that this is a local hometown run ice cream shop. There is always a line and sometimes out the door, but pat is always there smiling and helping Out his customers. Definitely really good flavors to check out as well. If you're in the area and craving ice cream pop on it they also have ice cream sandwiches too!

I'm a sucker for exploring a new place for ice cream. I found this little place on Google when searching for ice cream in the area I was in. When you walk in BOOM you hit in the face with that good ole' nostalgia. Ice cream themed decor and signage cover the walls like bumper stickers on the back of a car. Some of them newer while others could very well be from the 90s (fine by me ). As with traditional ice cream parlor there are windowed ice cream counters you can peer into to decide which flavor you want. I decided to go with a peanut butter flavored ice cream with Reeses Pieces (yes, peanut butter and me go WAY back). For my serving style I went with sundae and got some whip cream on top. No cherry. Not sure cherries and peanut butter making friends on top of ice cream. Anyways, the owner was the one working the counter. Very nice guy. I didn't ask him if he was the owner but he had some newspaper clippings scattered around the wall so I took a leap of faith. While I was waiting for him to get my families order I looked into a side cooler where he had drinks. At the bottom I saw that he had homemade doggy ice creams. That's awesome! I didn't have my dog with me today and wasn't sure about delivering him melted ice cream by the time I got home (although not sure he would of minded) so I opted out this time but if he's with us next time, i will most certainly jump on them. We decided to eat the ice cream at the location. The website said they had a nice brick patio but with the weather iffy that day I decided to find the first area with a seat and begin inhaling. It was on the side of the building and it had colorful benches. We parked in the front of the building where there's only a handful of spots but I saw people driving around the back to park in a lot (Felt like such a newb). Anyways, ice cream was pretty good (not frost bitten which other shops have had) so I will be back again when I'm in the area.

Pat's Main Street is the ice cream parlor I never knew I needed in my life. Growing up in San Francisco, I knew ice cream shops lined with wooden touches, outrageous and funky flavors that a mad scientist could only fathom, and young high schoolers serving scoops on artisanal cones. These were my childhood treasure chests. These were places I turned to for an ounce of sweetness even when fog dressed the sky and rain poured down on the concrete. Don't get me wrong, I loved it all; the ice cream's wonkiness and creativity showed me boundless creativity found in sweets and desserts. But when I entered Pat's main street, I knew that I had been missing out. Pat's main street -- walls covered from top to bottom with ice cream photos, a toy taxi claw machine, and animal beanie babies -- reminded me of a childhood ice cream nostalgia I wish I had. After braving a line that swirled around the store, Pat greeted my friends to some delicious ice cream and free magnets. I had a cone of Extreme Chocolate and the Raspberry sorbet, a perfectly rich and fruity combo for a warm night stroll. It was perfect. The chocolate had small chocolate pieces and raspberry was sweet and tart, but not overly sweet and tart. Even now as I sit at home, I crave the sweet and quaint ice cream intimacy I experienced at Pat's and will certainly be back soon to try the many more flavors and soak in the best ice cream place in Southington.

This place is #1 in Southington for a reason! Amazing service and ice cream selection. Try the strawberry crunch and cotton candy.

"I'll build a house of gingerbread someday And bring my…read moresugar cookie home to stay" (Stevie Wonder) Beware of cuteness overload when you cross paths with Cookie Ranger because adorableness will engulf you wherever you look. Want an example? Well, look no further than the high level of cuteness Snowman cookie we picked up. He had a marshmallow for a head, chocolate chips for eyes, and M&M for a mouth, and half a mini-Reese's Piece for a hat. Throw that creativity on a peanut butter cookie, add a blanket of snowy white vanilla frosting and you have a delicious and quite creative work of art. We also picked up a crunchy, and chewy Ranger White Chocolate Chip Cookie made from oats, Krispies, coconut, and white chocolate chips, and a conventional chocolate chip cookie. The cookies are large enough (well over four ounces) that we found them easily splitable, and they made a sweet tooth satisfying dessert. They have a very cool product line of cookies - including a cookie-brownie love child and a slew of stuffed "cookie bombs" that pack a gooey layer of yumminess inside the cookie. They have a nice mail order business, but if you visit the store, like we did, you'll find a big selection, a super sweet staff, and plenty of parking. And the icing on the proverbial cookie is this -- they also sell a line of those super-frozen Nitrogen blasted ice creams, shakes, and sundaes. to numb your aching sweet tooths. They'll be closed in January and will reopen in February, so make your Valentines Day cookie purchase plans now.

I ordered the m&m cookie and the stuffed peanut butter cookie, and was very surprised that my bill was $13 for two cookies. The taste was good but not worth the price I paid. I did come here again to try their nitrogen ice cream and it was very good and freshly made.

"Well, Lordy, Lordy, Lordy, Ms. Claudy Girl, you sure look…read moregood to me" (Elvis Presley) Sweet Claude's may be one of the more difficult to find ice cream stores around, so your mindset better be "determination" focused, because I guarantee you'll be very happy with your dish or cone. You'll find them tucked away pretty much out of view inside the Artsplace building (493 W Main) within the Ball and Socket Art Complex in Cheshire. They've been cranking out homemade ice cream since 1988, and we had a stellar experience when we visited. They have plenty of ice cream flavors (including some nonfat and sugar free), plus yogurts, sorbets and ices. Some of their interesting flavors are Claude's Cupcake, Dough - Si -Dough, Salty Pretzel, Smurf, and a "Banana Corner" which is a rotating selection of banana-based ice cream. How cool! I went with a 2-flavor small dish of Salty Pretzel and Triple Chocolate. The ice cream was smooth as silk and full of flavor. Seriously, their ice cream is terrific, and at $5.35 for a big enough cup, was a very fair value. PRO TIP Because Sweet Claude's is in the Ball and Socket Art Complex there are many sections within the complex to park your car. But only park in front of Sweet Claude's if you plan on staying there for no more than a half hour. Visitors to the rest of the complex or the Farmington River Trail should leave those precious spots to the ice cream afficionados!
