Long review, but want to provide a detailed review of our experience. If you're not interested in…read morethe minutiae - great experience, very reasonably priced and great customer service. Veteran owned and your money stays in the local market vs. using a corporation. We contacted Dave Hopkins on a referral from a coworker. We arranged a time to meet for a quote and he showed up on time at the agreed time (I've used a number of movers, you get a 'window'). He took a walkthrough of our house and noted our items to move. We got the quote on a quick turnaround. They came in at almost half what the other folks were doing without even coming out for a look. Our kitchen table is deceptively heavy (sorry, Dave!) On the move date, they showed up on time (again, another rarity). Dave and his helper Dylan both greeted us and shook our hands. They tucked right in to getting the stuff broken down that required breakdown and padded everything in blankets. We had some other items I was going to take on my own in a U-Haul later, but he offered to take them for us. They took more than we'd contracted for and made no fuss about it. My wife did a walkthrough before we were departing and noticed that all the fellas (me included) forgot about the washer and dryer. Instead of throwing a fit, they started pulling things off the truck to make room. Off to the new house. The guys tucked right in to moving the stuff in. There was a small fee for the stairs in the new house which was a pittance for what they had to take upstairs. Everything was done professionally and they were diligent to avoid damage to anything. They had to lift some really heavy items and never made a fuss. When it was time to settle for the day, the price came in higher than the quote. But they quoted us for the items they were supposed to take, not the extra stuff they graciously took. So it was an hours charge, not an additional fee. We were glad to cover the extras as they reduced our workload significantly! I highly recommend Dave and his company. They're local and family owned. Support your local community vs. padding the pockets of a corporation. All my friends that are moving are being referred to Dave. Thanks guys!

I recently moved from Sun Lakes to Chandler. They were on time and quickly went to work. The son,…read moreBrad, was amazing! He was professional, efficient, very careful and respectful. His dad, Dave, was at first...but as the day went on he seemed to get short tempered and as he got more tired he got more careless too. At the new house I noticed a large scratch on a mirror frame. I turned the mirror around to show them and when they came back in the house Dave knocked the mirror with his foot and said, "who put this mirror here, that's stupid thing to do" and he grabbed it and put it back from where I had taken it. And this is a very heavy mirror. I never got to show them the scratch. Then Dave started yelling at someone in the parking lot of the apartment complex and it was very embarrassing and unprofessional. They stacked all of my boxes in my tiny dining room and at one point Dave brought in a very heavy box and slid it onto the crossbars of my dining table legs. After they left I managed to get it off of the table to make sure he hadn't cracked the wood. He didn't break it but there are scratches now on the crossbars and the side of the table. There is also a large ding in the side of a small chest of drawers that he moved and a scratch on another side table. He was careless with boxes and just shoved them around. After they were done I told Brad not to worry about the scratch in the mirror because they were done so quickly and I wanted the dad to leave. This was before I found the other damage. In addition, the power cable to my TV disappeared. I saw Dave with it at the old house and I'm assuming he stashed it in a drawer somewhere but it's been 3 days and it still hasn't shown up at either house. They seemed to act like I was accusing them of taking it but I don't think they did. I think that Dave put I somewhere and I was hoping he would remember where. Anyway, very nice people and if it was Brad and a helper they would get 5 stars. Can't say enough good about him. But if he brings his dad Dave be warned.

Thankfully neither of our TVs were damaged during the pod transport, however, we did have a couple pieces of furniture that ended up damaged because a bunch of boxes and items shifted around inside the pod and fell (see photos of damaged items). The team only used a total of 2 moving straps (one inside each pod) which just didn't seem like enough to me. I think things could have been packed better inside of the pods but, on a positive note, they did show up right on time and worked very quickly. If you use this company for a move I'd just make sure to keep an eye out for how things are packed and make sure to use lots of padding on your items!

We confirmed again the day before and Johnny called me the morning of my move. I took the day off work and rented a truck from Uhaul. I was ready to move. By 1pm I started calling Johhny at Mover Friends to ask where the he was, but no answer. I called several more times and no answer. At 3pm, now that my day is completely shot and I have no opportunity to hire someone else, Johnny sends me a text...."sorry my guys flaked out on me". I was dumb founded and furious.
