I tend to be harsh on car dealerships, but for this I make an exception!
When you walk into Patriot, do not be alarmed by all of the paperwork and the dated decor and the faint smell of cigarette smoke. They've been around for over 20 years dedicated to the customer. Personally, I would LOVE to take them into the 21st century with a technological upgrade, but I no longer live in CT and therefore I wouldn't have the time.
Anyway, the staff is very friendly and Tom is the man. This is a privately owned dealership, which means you don't mess with the giants, you can negotiate better and you are probably not paying for any certified dealership-like hidden fees. They can show you the CarFax and Tom is a pretty straight-forward salesman.
The website is adequate and updates regularly and the inventory varies. They specialize in used cars. Anyway, the point is that Tom is an honest straight-shooter and he will work with you and help get you approved. My mom brought a Rav4 from him about 5 or 6 years ago and it still runs great without any major issues. I brought my wagon from him over 4 years ago and I never had a major issue. You can also take your car back to him to get oil changes, repairs, etc. Even going out for a second opinion at times, I found that the mechanic at Patriot Motors was correct. I even learned a tip or two from the staff there.
Patriot Motors is where it's at if you're looking for a used car and if you're looking to avoid the big dealerships along Route 5. read more
