While nothing is free in this world, i appreciate the dedication from Diamond Air Design for working with the real estate company that sold us the house, the sellers of the property, and us as well to get us back to a cool house, and that, for us is akin to winning the lottery at this point. The service tech said I had a defective switch causing my home generator to cycle up and down. This was in October 2022. As background information, I purchased my Kohler from a different dealer because I could not find a local dealer in Pensacola. Despite repeated service visits, they never fixed the problem. Blackwell serviceman said they had to order the part. When the part came in late November, the Tech installed and spent time explaining the operation and service. 5 Stars. Now the second review. I complained that the $400 switch had been defective since day one and should be replaced under warranty. I spoke to the Tech, Office and even filed an email request to the Office. I was presented with a $400 bill which I paid. I was not a happy camper when I contacted Kohler the beginning of December. To my surprise, the nice lady volunteered to reimburse me! Temporally forgotten, in February I realized I had not seen a refund. Contacted Kohler again and was told that was credited to Blackwell last year and they should have refunded my money. When I confronted their Manager about their failure to contact Kohler or issue my refund, the reply was, "I was not here last year." Then he blamed Kohler for incorrect paperwork for no refund. This is not some huge company. I counted three people in the Office. I think there is room for improvement in their staff. So after hours on the phone, many emails and four months of aggravation doing the job Blackwell's Office should have done, I got my refund March 12, 2023.

He pointed out some calcifications on the coils of the outside unit caused by acid from the leaves that were accumulating inside the unit. He recommended a coating on the coils which we had him perform and then a leaf filter to cover the unit to prevent future accumulation of leaves. On Friday 4/10/26 Mathews Heating & Air came to house we are renting at 9am to replace the old HVAC…read moreunit that was leaking and needed to go. They were there until after 6pm working on the project. A little before 5pm they said they were finished and wanted to show us the new thermostat they had installed, at which time they realized they couldn't get the heater to work. This resulted in extra time taking the job to 6pm. They then forgot to show us the thermostat so we didn't realize they had taken the old one with them without giving us the option to keep it. The one they installed was super basic with no options for scheduling temperatures, etc like our previous one (not really old) had. Then came the fun and games. The newly installed unit made so much noise that it would wake us up at night and we needed to turn up the volume on our TV whenever the AC was turning on to cool down the room. We let our rental agent know the situation and were advised to call the company back out, which we did. We also took multiple videos of the unit making the noises and sent those to our agent and Mathews, also playing for the employee who came back out to check out the unit. He also heard the sounds at the end of his visit as he was getting ready to hear when it turned on to cool the room. He immediately went into action and started working on the into again and also added refrigerant, telling us that's what he was doing. This did not fix the problem. This went on for months with multiple visits from Mathews and finally a second complaint was called in to give a second opinion. The result is a fixed and normal sounding AC that is such a relief! This fix happened 2 days ago, Tuesday, 7/28/26, so 3+months later. Mathews told our rental agent that they couldn't rely on videos and that they never heard the sounds. Two different visits at least the employees that were sent here heard the sounds and attempted to fix it. Be careful about doing business with this company, as any follow up may be a problem. Because we were renters, we were not listened to. Frustrating since we were the ones it was affecting on the day to day, but in the end it was the actual owners who had to pay and we feel terrible for them. Mathews eventually refused to do further work because of the second opinion that was called in after they had sent multiple people to "fix" the problem. The value of the work done was costly in the end, not economical! Zero stars if possible but I did add one star because they were usually on time for appointments.

I was never able to get a call back from Mr. Matthews (Phil) after initial introductory call. Just getting the initial call ball back in the first place was a struggle. I do not know what the problem was/ is. I have money put aside for this project I have saved for years, but can not jet this job arranged. I guess it is better to find out now, since ever getting any service in the future (if needed) might leave me stuck without a solution.
