We had the opportunity to drive through Canton, OH, so I imposed my will on the family and claimed, "IN THE NAME OF ICE CREAM!!!" ;) and took the freeway exit exuberantly! Yelp directions are on point. Basically street parking only, but be mindful of the streets signs for parking. You have the option of sitting down on the right side dining area and menu ordering, or, going left and just lining up for a hit & run of creamy treats! We decided to sit down and take in the ambiance. Both side of the creamery were hoppin'! Long line to get ice cream and the dining room was packed! Cool old school wooden booths covered the walls! Luckily a few tables still remained available and we were seated promptly. Our server, Michelle was great! Attentive and never let our drinks empty out. There were a few issues with our orders and she remedied them without any issue! Alrighty, LET'S EAT! THE KITCHEN SINK: SIX LARGE SCOOPS! Wahoo! We picked SALTED CARAMEL, COCONUT, COFFEE, BLACK WALNUT, BUTTER PECAN & STRAWBERRY( on a separate tray), with toppings & whip cream on the side so we could mostly taste the ice cream and it not melt so fast. Every ice cream flavor was delightfully creamy and flavor tastes were SPOT ON! Butter Pecan and Salted Caramel were the most flavorful to me. My son preferred the Strawberry, Wifey indulged in the Coconut the most. Loved the pecan topping! Also, I thought the Pineapple and Hot Fudge were tastefully crafted, as well. This here, alone, was totally worth the journey! So GOOD! BACON CHEESEBURGER: Son was craving protein, and lately, always searches for a Bacon Cheeseburger. Taggart's has a version and, of course, he orders it. Good size hamburger patty and bacon is crisped just like he requested. VERY happy with his order and no leftovers means the kid enjoyed it! It could have been two meals and they gave me a hefty side of fries. It was surprisingly delicious. The MINI BITTNER is a Taggart's tradition and MUST-TRY if you are in Ohio. It is a smaller take on their Bittner, and includes about 8 oz of vanilla ice cream blended in chocolate sauce and topped with a huge serving of buttered, salted pecans. I kept eating it and the pecans were endless lol. I didn't love it, but it was interesting. It got quite salty after a while. All in all, the ice cream was good and the food was even better. The peanut butter cup ice cream is my favorite (milk chocolate base with chunks of peanut butter throughout) and their hot fudge is great. Most sundaes have two sizes (large and small) and their large still isn't quite what I'd consider "large" but I have no real qualms. Service was good as well on my most recent visit.
