Country Cones is located on Middlebranch NE at the light where Middlebranch dead ends left or right. The ice cream and food menu was impressive with the amount of options. During this visit, I didn't get the chance to try their famous coney; hopefully next time. However, I did get the small twist cone which had a smooth and yummy texture. Not all seasonal stands have a smooth texture like this to their twist cones. I always enjoy a good ice cream sandwich and ended up getting one of their homemade traditional ice cream sandwiches which a worker pulled out of the freezer. Nice ice cream stand. It is very popular--always a line. The turtle Sunday is delicious. The fresh cut fries are exceptional --cooked fresh and perfectly crispy. Twice, I tried the coney dog. The taste is pretty good, but I doubt if I will order again--I can't stand eating luke-warm food! The hot dog and coney sauce is never hot. This last time, my bun was soggy like they did not thoroughly drain the water off hotdog before putting on bun. I will try corn dog...I am sure they cook those fresh, and should be hot. I wanted to continue to love this place. I don't know what changed but it's now indistinct- we count on something being wrong with the overpriced order EVERYTIME! Too many corners cut- you have to beg for a single napkin. They tried to cash in on local nostalgia but without quality or friendly service the place is pretty mediocre if not a disappointing rip off. read more

I came here with family on an 80 degree sunny and breezy day. Beautiful day and very busy ice cream stand. The line moves quickly and the servers are really nice. Def recommend. Oh and lemon bar cheesecake is delicious! read more

I have been coming here since we moved to plain township when I was 10, I am now 30, and it's still as great as it always was! HUGE variety of everything ice cream and then some! Chocolate dipped bananas, ice cream sandwiches, sundaes, slushies, AND food! The coney dogs are my absolute favorite, and I even add the kraut to them..it is cash only, however they recently put an ATM out front, so that's convenient for first time visitors or people like me who never carry cash. Country Cones has a seriously extensive menu and tons of variety, but I have to give a negative review due to the fact that they serve a phony, non-authentic version of Blue Moon ice cream that tastes like strawberry ice cream with blue food coloring. I've been eating this stuff since I was 5 and I know Blue Moon when I taste it, dammit! Ugh! Sadly though, a LOT of places in this area do this and it seriously ticks me off! If you are a Blue Moon aficionado like me, your best bet is to ask for a small spoonful before taking the plunge and buying a full serving. I wish I had done that and saved myself the disappointment of ordering a huge serving and then throwing it away out of anger. I'm telling you- this stuff Country Cones is serving is NOT Blue Moon ice cream! The only place semi-nearby I can vouch for as having authentic Blue Moon is Burger Hut in Alliance. Do yourself a favor if you have the time, and drive there to get some if that's what you have a hankering for! As for the people who run this place, you should really contact Burger Hut in Alliance and find out who supplies their (authentic!) Blue Moon and start ordering from them. Otherwise, you're just pulling a fast one on customers like me who come there looking for the real thing and get a bait & switch, INFERIOR lookalike version instead. read more
