Great little place that you can walk up to the window OR they have a drive thru which is super convenient for those with little ones you don't want to drag out of the car! My great grandpa and grandma used to take me here all the time as a kid and the service was great every time. I'm autistic, and if anyone knows what it's like being an autistic kid, you can be very picky with foods. I was very specific in what I did or didn't like, and not once were the staff rude because of it. I got a special kind of ice cream from them every time. Now whenever I think about it I get nostalgic for those easy times. While my grandpa isn't here to take me anymore, I still am able to go with my girlfriend quite often and make our own new memories. I've gone to the location three times in the last two month with various experiences. The first time it was great. I ordered the coconut cream ice cream and peanut butter cup ice cream. The PB cup was loaded with Reese's cup with candy in every bite. I then went back and tried the buckeye ice cream and there were barely any chocolate buckeyes. I just took it as the luck of the draw or scoop. I then went back this last time and ordered the PB ice cream again hoping to repeat my first experience but was disappointed. Not one PB cup in the entire scoop. This time I spoke with a worker who said I must of gotten the last scoop of the container which didn't have any PB cups.. BAIT AND SWITCH! I ordered their large 4th of July ice cream cake. Paid in full when I ordered. Was VERY specific that I loved what was on their website and I wanted one decorated just like the picture. The website shows full piping decoration around the whole cake with red and white stripes and blue and white stars. It's beautiful. What I was handed when I went to pick up my cake was a smooth plain white ice cream cake with one piped border of blue on the top and tiny random polka dots on the side. They should have been embarrassed to hand it out! I talked to the manager and was offered a free quart of ice cream. For $25.99 I wanted what was advertised! Canton has no shortage of places to get good, home made ice cream. Off the top of my head, I can think of six, and all of them are good. I'm not a local - I'm a transplant - so I have no bias, as many here do, toward the ones that have been around for decades and have become local institutions. So I can say, objectively, that Almost Heaven beats them all. This is simply the best ice cream I have ever eaten. I will never again be satisfied eating grocery store ice cream from a carton, or eating from one of the chain ice cream stands. Almost Heaven is the ultimate. If you like butter pecan ice cream, you'll think they should remove the "almost" from their name. The double dark chocolate is divine.
