We brought our daughter here a while ago and was very appreciative of how the nurse was gentle treating her. I was very thankful for their service then, but as of now it is a completely different experience. I think people should only come here for Urgent Care needs. DO NOT come here for a follow up appt. I showed up 15min early for a follow up and when they finally put me in a room, they let me sit there for over an hour. When I asked if they forgot I was there, an assistant replied, "no, she's running a little behind. There's one more patient before you." Maybe there's a reason they call us "patient". Me and the assistant get into an immature door opening/closing contest because I want them to know I'm in there and she doesn't want to be uncomfortable. To put the icing on the cake, she walks by and calls me some name in Spanish. Apparently, this is junior high. Real professional. Apart from the waiting and childish assistant, there was also the issue with inconsistent opinions. My first visit, the injury was deemed "superficial". My second visit, Catherine calls it "soft-tissue" damage. So which is it? Mind you, it's Catherine on both visits. Then, I have to fill out the FMLA paperwork FOR them and then they have the nerve to charge me $30. Catherine doesn't want to take the notes or another 5-10minutes to fill it out even though she's made me wait an hour.... You have to fill it out anyways, so why put it off?? Health services today seem to completely ignore the human element of each encounter. I feel like another animal through the processing plant. No respect for a person's time. No respect or listening ear for a person's life situations. I think Merced has this problem in general. Patients are overbooked and offices are operated like mills. If I make an appointment with my primary care doctor, I'm not seen for another month even in the case/risk of serious infection. I have to come to Urgent care to be seen for follow-ups that still make me wait. What was the argument against single-payer healthcare again??? Oh yea! Waitlists.... well since I'm waiting anyways, might as well be single-payer. read more

I made an appointment in 2021 to get a cyst looked at. the doctor was immediately very rude to me and didn't even examine me, never touched me. just sat in her chair and stared at me. she dismissed me and when I went to a follow up doctor elsewhere in 2024 they found the cyst had grown to the size of a golf ball and have had to deal with this as a much bigger issue because the doctor didn't do her job. I've been in so much pain and discomfort and it's been a frustrating experience in all. read more

I needed care and called hours ahead to find out what time they stopped taking walk ins, the employees was very short and rude saying 4, I told her would it be ok since I would be off by 3:30 and my not make it sooner than 3:50 she did not respond. Once I was off from work I rushed there and got 5 till 4 and the employees with an annoyed look said "we stop at 4" I said it's 5 till and she responded depends on the provider you can go elsewhere . Was a walk-in at about 12:10 They asked why, I said flu symptoms and was given paperwork. Did not wait an unreasonable time and was taken to a chair to have blood pressure taken. I sat there for 20 minutes, with people walking back and forth in front of me. The girl that took it never said anything, seemed to have a hard time getting a reading but, oh well. I was taken to an exam room, nose swabbed and left for at least another 20-25 minutes. Tech (?) came in, stuck another swab up my nose and started to leave, I said it was kinda weird that no one had taken my temperature. He paled, scooted out and got a thermometer. He then rushed out, got 3 ice packs, some Tylenol and water. He said he thought the Dr had already been in. I asked what the temp was and he said 100+. He laid me down and checked in a few times. I was like that for more than 30 minutes. Dr came in, listened to my chest, said he did not think it was a flu, did not know what it was and that second swab would be ready the next day. He said he would order meds. (not sure how he knew what they were for) and left the room, I got notification that meds were ordered, and sat in the room another 30+ minutes until I opened the door asked if I could leave. Girl went away for a minute and came back and said yes. Dr never came back to explain the meds he ordered. I was there until 3:30. I called today to ask about swab results. After a 7-minute wait she came back and told me the provider was gone and they will call me tomorrow. Edit - I did just get a call from someone that told me what the meds do, not why the Dr ordered them. I had already looked them up, so no help there. And no results from the second swab. We'll see if I get a call tomorrow. read more

The most ignorant, rude, and unprofessional medical group I made the mistake of calling, The receptionist over spoke me, would not listen to what I was asking, then hung up on me because I told her she was being rude.. When I called back she would put me on hold. Someone in management there needs to pay attention to who they hire, and have interacting with potential patients who need medical assistance, and is not an emergency. I would give a 0 (zero) but then I could not leave a comment.. if you don't like your job, then find another. read more

All staff were very unprofessional during this visit, the doctor who saw my dad here misdiagnosed him when it turned out to be a simple condition he was experiencing, making us cancel spending Christmas Day with family. Waited two hours to be seen for two minutes just to leave with the wrong conclusion and treatment. Doctor explicitly said she knew what she was doing when asked if she was sure this was the issue. Fountain View Urgent Care properly assessed my dad and gave him the correct diagnosis and medication which healed him much more efficiently than the last medication received by this care center. read more

The absolute worst health care ever! This is the only provider approved by my employer for workers comp. The Nurse practitioner there Pettyjohn saw me and she is completely incompetent and rude. First, she doesn't have any bed side manner. On my first visit she hung out at the door, talking about my medical history without shutting the door?! Doesn't introduce herself, and starts spewing statements with no real explanation to how or why it may be true. Who does that? She made a claim about my X-rays saying I had a congenital abnormality in my spine. When I followed up on my second visit, she didn't know what I was talking about and said it might be spina bifida. I've never had spina bifida as a kid and that's a bold claim to diagnose someone who you've seen twice and no information about my past medical history. Called her out about it and she got upset with me. Asked if I wanted a different provider, I saw yes. Nurse Pettyjohn needs to stop practicing medicine, not fit for anyone. read more

DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS PLACE!! The only reason I gave it one star is because you can't give negative stars. The staff were incredibly rude, demeaning, and down right obnoxious to customers. When one goes to a medical center because they are in poor health, you expect compassion, concern, and empathy. Sadly, with a name like Patient's First, this was NOT the case. The medical staff and receptionists repeatedly made snappish and uncaring comments several times, even going so far as to say that I was wasting their time with questions about my current health concerns and status. I was literally and figuratively verbally abused when I was in extreme pain. And, after all of this, my primary physician has repeatedly asked for copies of medical tests and procedures, and they still have not sent them. In my opinion, this is medical negligence. Apparently if they recognize you after you've left a negative review they'll let you sit in the waiting room for an hour (just to prove a point), eventually call your name as if it's your turn to see a doctor, hand you a printed out copy of your honest review, and ask you to leave because "you're not welcome here". How about instead of turning away people who have given you honest feedback in the past --YOU TAKE THE FEEDBACK? A review -- good or bad -- gives YOU the opportunity to know what to keep doing and what to work on. You should appreciate BOTH. Especially when you're being give an OPPORTUNITY to turn an old negative review into a positive review (yes--some people give businesses a second chance). But hey, if you'd rather lose business, that's your choice. Not a good reputation to have in a small town. Incidents like these are why businesses get shut down. I waited 4 hours to get seen. Yes I was a walkin, but 4 hours. This is ridiculous. The girls up front were extremely rude and they kept trying to blame me for not making an appointment. I get it. I walked in. but 4 hours. Then they said they tried to call me but I was in the bathroom, so I missed my slot and I was pushed to the very back of the line again. And again they were rude and blamed me for it. While I was waiting, I would hear how the girls answered the phone calls coming in. Again, very rude. Then they would hang up loudly, and then proceed to badmouth the person who called! that is shameful, disappointing and disgusting behavior. If you don't care about taking care of your fellow human being, then don't work in the healthcare industry. Nothing urgent about this place. Waited in the front waiting room for over an hour when there was only myself and one other person waiting. Finally got called back and was told it would be about 15 minutes and ended up being almost an hour in the back room. I finally had enough and walked to the front to ask how much longer. The girl asked for me to go back to my room and she would check. About 10 minutes later she walked into my room saying I was next up. But the impression I got, was that they forgot about me. Went today because I had a side ache on the right side. Had this ache since Wednesday and didn't want to be ill for the weekend. Decided to go to Patients First Urgent Care. Filled out papers and was seen after about forty minutes. Dr Catherine is the best. She took time to listen to me and asked questions as to my symptoms. She had me take X-rays and found my problem, even showing me the X-rays. The X-ray tech also was there and explained my situation too. Thank you to the staff and especially Dr. Catherine. read more

I walked in at 8am and was not seen until 10am. Was there for workers comp. I went in and explained what was wrong and the nurse practitioner just gave me pretty much over the counter pills and a sling. Then said go to physical therapy. Went back a few days later for pain worsening and requested to a specialist and was rejected. At this point I've lost almost all my range of motion. So pretty much my option was to sit in pain until they decide that I can get an mri and go see a specialist. Even with worsening pain they won't admit they are wrong saying I just have tendinitis. Just like a year ago they said that my side was just bruised after an X-ray, then in my 12 week check up they tell me I did actually have a broken ribs. If they are not going to give standard care or care about their patients that are in pain they should just close their doors. read more

Had prescription filled asked the pharmacist what exactly it was for and she told me the wrong thing. Took one pill and vomited severely for 4 hours and had to go the ER. This place is so incredibly bad, but it's the only place available outside of the emergency room. Why do I wait 45 minutes for them to manually type up my kid's patient sheet? We do have computers this century. The staff is rude at best most days, the other days they are argumentative and difficult. Saying this place is slow is an understatement. The "doctor" (I wish I knew the name was but will update when I find out ) my boyfriend had today didn't give a diagnosis for what he had so the 2 hour wait was a waste of time all the doctor prescribed was antibiotics and told him "well you didn't need to come it would have went away anyway" then continued to prescribe him antibiotics which would lessen what he didn't tell him he had cause he didn't even know so we don't know what the antibiotics are even getting rid of so he's taking medication for god knows what and said whatever he has will go away in 2-4 days. Terrible experience nonetheless. UPDATE: Doctors name that he saw here is Kheng Xion and it comes to be that he needs surgery because of the wait of just giving him a ZPack. They should change their name to Patients LAST Medical Center as they have no care for anyone. Their BOSS Gheri who allegedly embezzles from the company. She dictates prices for medication and I called 5 other urgent cares and got quoted $50-$60 for the same exact treatment when cash pay. When I got the quote from Gheri approved was $400+ if paying with a card and if I pay cash only $350 after already paying $135 to be seen since they do not take most insurances. Hopefully the owner looks at the books on how much steeling is going on there. read more

I wish I could give a zero star rating for this place. The girl at the front desk was rude af. I came here since the other clinic had 14 people ahead of me and this one had no one... now I know why. The girl who took my blood pressure and stuff was really nice. She asked me to wait in a room for the Dr. who came in about 25 min later. When I told her, the Dr. that I was on Truvada, she assumed I was HIV positive. I had to let her know that Truvada is preventative, that it's like gay birth control. It prevents you from contracting the virus in case you happen to be exposed to it. Then she asked me if I used to have HIV... wtf - I didn't know there was a cure. I was so frustrated and angry, I almost walked out. I'm going to drop off some pamphlets on Truvada so the medical "professionals" can brush up on this decade's medical discoveries. read more

They overcharge for deductibles. I came in with a broken leg after a car accident and they wanted to charge me $50 for a deductible, but I didn't have the money to cover it so I just left. Most other clinics and urgent care centers I have been to only charge $15. read more

Today I had a number of pre-employment tests (TB, lifting weight, physical exam, drug screen, hearing test) to complete at Patients First: Based on previous experiences I was dreading today. I must say I was delighted! The staff was competent, professional, polite, fast, and as a walk-in it only took 45 minutes from start to finish. Such a marked improvement from previous visits. Kudos! BE AWARE. I posted this review and have received a certified letter stating they will no longer provide service to me. If the clerks do not know a drug or have questions, they could have gone to a doctor or nurse instead of making fools of themselves. If there are insurance questions, call the insurance, don't state you are comfortable charging a patient this amount, or don't get upset when the patient goes else where. So post your comment, but if unfavorable be aware that the customer representative reading and responding will possibly deny you care. Luckily I have great insurance, and had moved on anyway... but this could be devastating to others. BEWARE... a simple apology would have been nice. As a walk-in with a cold/flu at most places, you may expect an hour or so wait(my personal experience), as they do have appointments they need to honor as well. Patients First is a joke though. I've been here for 3 hours now and am STILL waiting for a doctor. They are super slow here and over book their appointments so much that after taking my vitals i was told to go back to the lobby and wait because all the rooms were full! Was not treated well by front receptionist. Lack of care for sick people coming in. You'd think they'd understand that and quickly help or make things smoother for us. Receptionist was very tedious and looking at things that didn't matter on forms. EVERY single line had to be filled in. Just making it more difficult to see a dr. I always come here and hadn't gotten a bad experience before. She was new because I haven't seen her before. She Let someone who got there after me, didn't turn in paperwork til after me, go ahead of me because she hadn't even looked at my forms (that I fill out EVERY SINGLE TIME I'm there-redundant, even tho there are NEVER any changes). She told me it'd be 45 min to see dr. I was fine with that. But no, it took 45 for her to look at my paperwork. She then spent 10 min taking to a manager on phone because she felt she didn't have enough of my information to move me alone. she couldn't figure out that what she was asking for was unnecessary and not a reason to refuse me seeing a dr. She basically wouldn't allow me to get passed the forms and in to see a dr. She's a RECEPTIONIST. I left and shortly after called them from my car to speak to a supervisor. She answered and STILL couldn't figure out the simplest thing. She said her supervisors weren't in today. ::crickets:: Ummm...ok. Transfer me to their voice mail-DUH! Guess what folks? Haven't gotten a call back-it's been 3 days. And before Gheri gets on here saying emergencies, appts first-HOGWASH. there were no emergencIES, AND I called to make an appt and they told me you don't make appts and it's only walk ins-although I made appts before. Maybe it was the same girl who told me that? And it's super unprofessional and sad what I'm reading about them denying service for negative reviews. VERY SAD. Writing this review from a Chinese restraunt down the street. I bet the waiters here could give me better medical advice than the people at Patients First. If your experience is like mine, you'll wait an hour to be seen. But don't worry because you'll have a million forms to fill out that'll keep you occupied. When they eventually call you back, you'll likely sit in one of their rooms for another hour just for the doctor to run in, check you for five seconds, and then rush out again. If I it had option to not rate it cause they do not deserve any stars. Worst place for anyone. Horrible service from starting from the front til you get in. Both nurses and drs have the worst communication ever. I've been coming here for 11 years for my workers comp and finally I got out to been by a different. This is not even a urgent care. The name patient is regarding you l, it's regarding to patient as you wait an hour to be seen an another for the doctor to come in and another 30 mins to be out of the office.
