Dr. Nanra over saw my care while I was there and said if anything comes up come and see us. I decided to take him up on his offer today when I woke up to some questionable symptoms. They had me in and out within an hour (unheard of for urgent care as busy as them, especially with them also being a primary care clinic.) the clinic is clean, the staff is friendly and they are very on top of it. The doctor listened to my history and what led up to today and took all of that into consideration with his treatment options. I will definitely be returning here for my urgent care needs. I'm happy that I have the option to go here if anything urgent arises and know that they care about their patients. Thank you golden state!!!

My old clinic would not give me a follow up appointment soon enough and while that was bad, I'm grateful because that's what brought me to GetWell. They got me in the minute i called, i was seen by a GREAT doctor, wait time was very short for an urgent care clinic, staff was kinder than kind (Samantha, I'm taking about you ), and they got me the antibiotics i needed and ordered the necessary bloodwork. Lab was nearby and the pharmacy was just across the street. So EASY! they truly made everything super smooth! My experience was so extraordinarily fantastic, that i asked them to adopt me as a patient for good! They scheduled me for a physical within 15 days. I was sent to get x-rays that I had to call before they closed to get results (they didn't call me like they said they would). Got a bill from them with a charge for $750 - Surgical procedure. When I called the billing dept said the facility reported that they "performed a procedure" on me. NO they didn't. I was expected to accept that answer and pay bill. I am in process of contacting me insurance to file a complaint of erroneous charges being billed. Check your bills!

Unfortunately, my experience with the office management was the complete opposite. I called several times to speak with the office manager, only to later find out she had already left for the day. The staff seemed unaware of her availability, which reflected poor communication within the office. I've also spoken with friends who have been seen at this office, and they shared similar frustrations about how difficult it is to get in contact with Manager Maira. I genuinely believe the office would benefit from management that leads with professionalism, compassion, and clear communication. The staff seemed to lack the support and guidance that strong leadership should provide, and I think the overall patient experience would improve significantly with better management. Because of this experience, I won't be recommending Valley River Orthopedics. Merced already has too few healthcare offices that consistently provide compassionate customer service, so it was especially disappointing to encounter this level of hospitality.

I was there in early April and had an appointment with a female doctor that hat such a heavy accent, I could hardly understand her. She had a Male in the room instructing her. She asked me to take a blood test and urine test. I had to come back the next day because the lab was closed. Even then, it took me way over a week to get the results, and they gave me some antibiotics. So I go back in Saturday and see a different female doctor. At checkin the assistant asks if I need any refills on my medications. I tell her yes that they all probably need to be refilled and ask her to have the refills sent to Express Scripts. Today I get a bunch of mail from Express Scripts telling me that my prescriptions cannot be billed because they do not have a doctors authorization. I called AMG 2 1/2 hours ago and asked how that could happen. They said they would call back, I'm still waiting. I am reading about people with long wait times, my longest wait time was 5 1/2 hours. They have gotten much better recently, maybe 10 minutes.

I am from NY and have been visiting my son's family for the past seven weeks, helping my daughter in law recover from brain surgery. I got a chiropractor visit scheduled to relieve acute pain I was experiencing that day due to four previous spine surgeries and a knee replacement. I was not familiar with the Chiropractor's location and was following GPS. The GPS indicated I should park in front of the 850 W Olive Avenue building. There was a sign that said community health center parking and another which said Doctor parking only. I am a doctor, though not employed by Community Health. These were the only two parking spots available in the whole lot. I parked and walked around the building, but could not find the office. I went to the adjacent building and walked around that entire building before finding the Chiropractor's office. I went in for my appointment at about 2:20 pm and came out at about 3:15 pm. I could not locate my vehicle. After I walked around for five or 10 minutes, I called my daughter-in-law to let her know that I could not locate the car. At that point two employees came out and asked if they could help me. I told them I couldn't find my vehicle and they asked if it was a Nissan. They informed me that it had been towed just moments ago. I was in shock. They could not tell me where my car had been towed or by whom. Dr. Tihar Yaqub then came out the side door yelling at me for parking, apparently in what he considered his personal spot. In fact, while I was in my doctor appointment his employees reported he has come out and wrote CHCA MEDICAL DIRECTOR in permanent marker on the parking sign. The office workers told the doctor that he had defaced the sign and put graffiti on it. He became more irate. He made a derogatory remark about women and was yelling at these women and me screaming repeatedly: "Can you read? Can you read? Can you read?" I finally replied, "I can read. I did not know the offices and parked there in error." He continued to berate me in front of the employees stating, "It is for doctors only!" I told him, "I am a doctor." That incensed him more. I asked him where my car was and who took it. He refused to tell me and went inside. He came back outside and told me to call the police that I deserved to be towed. My daughter-in-law called the police and they knew nothing about it. His office workers finally came back out and gave me the phone number for the tow company. Dr. Yaqub had called the tow company directly and never called the Merced PD. He knew this when he told me to call the police. I had a family member come to pick me up and take me to the tow yard. It was a $310 senseless tow!!! When I got there, the receipt showed he called the tow company at 2:22 pm ... just minutes after I parked. He didn't attempt to find the owner or wait a reasonable amount of time before towing. The office workers reported to me they tried desperately to get him to not tow but he was irate and insisted that he was right. They told him it was wrong to do and he didn't care. I still cannot believe the Medical Director of this practice would treat a member of the public and potential patient the way he had. His prejudices against women, his unprofessional demeanor and hostile behavior were unacceptable and so poorly represent the Community Health Center. I would imagine his board of directors would have been aghast at his aggressive and unprofessional conduct. This behavior is not befitting of someone with his level of responsibility. What an awful example for the employees who are forced to work with someone who lacks compassion and is as uncaring as Dr. Yaqub. He should be removed from this position. In my opinion, anyone who is a patient of his should be on notice that he is unstable and not fit to practice medicine. This was so disappointing and was so contrary to my experience of the Merced community up until this point.
