After a frustrating 10 months of being misdiagnosed by a different orthopedic surgeon, finding Dr. Beauchman was an absolute game-changer. From my very first visit, he was incredibly kind, thorough, and took the time to truly understand what was going on with my knee. He performed an arthroscopic meniscusectomy, and the entire experience went incredibly well. Thanks to his skill, I am already walking completely free of discomfort and am finally able to get back to my active lifestyle. Dr Beauchman is great (5+ stars) however the office staff not so much (0 stars). Dr B has done a knee replacement and manipulation on me. At each visit he listens to my questions and concerns and he takes the time to explain what to expect (in simple, plain language) and options. I have never felt rushed and have the greatest confidence in his skills as a surgeon. The staff is not friendly or engaging. They do the bare minimum. The feeling I'm left with is that I'm an inconvenience; even the nurse acts like she can't wait to get out of the room. It's not uncommon to call and immediately be put on hold without any greeting or acknowledgment. And if a message is left, the call is NEVER returned in a timely manner if at all. Also the voice message says they're on the other line even if their office is closed. Case in point, I had a knee manipulation done on Thursday midday. We live 1 hour 10 minutes away. On the way home, post procedure, I got a text that my pain meds were being filled in Merced. I immediately called the office and was put on hold as mentioned earlier. Eventually someone did pick up (which in my experience isn't always the case) and I explained my situation; have left Merced already and on my way home. Asked if they could transfer the rx to the pharmacy closer to my home. Was told they would look into it and get back to me. 3 hours later there was no response and their office was closing in 30 mins for the day. I started calling and my calls kept going to voicemail. By 5 pm I thought I would try to manage the pain as best as I could and call the next day. Called on Friday and kept getting the voicemail so I called the surgical center only to learn that Dr B's office was closed Friday for Juneteenth. This meant no pain meds until Monday at the earliest. Not a good situation. So I left a voice message asking to speak to the office manager Monday morning. And yes, the voice message said they were on the other line with another patient even though they were closed for the day. Monday morning came and went; no returned call so I called again after their lunch break. Spoke to the office manager who at no time acknowledged or apologized for my experience but was informed that they had a lot of messages to go through. What I would like for an outcome so that other patients don't experience this is the following: 1. Staff go through customer service training. 2. All calls answered with some sort of salutation before being put on hold. 3. All calls on hold are monitored and someone checking in occasionally to let the caller know they're aware of the wait. 4. Messages are triaged with more time sensitive calls (aka recent procedure) getting top priority. 5. Any patient who's had a procedure in the last 24 hours gets a response same day as their call with a description of next steps. 6. Change out of office message when closed. Also be aware that the office uses air fresheners. So be prepared if you have an olfactory sensitivity. Needless to say, once I finish up my appointments for this current recovery I'll be changing offices. And I'm 100% confident that this office won't care. read more

After almost a year of a painful tear in my husbands knee the doctor suggested a simple same day procedure. Although skeptical because of the lingering pain we went ahead with procedure. "Jasmin" was curt and condescending upon my arrival which set the tone for the rest of our interaction. She could benefit from additional coaching on professionalism in the workplace. My family is looking forward to establishing Dr. Beauchman as our preferred orthopedic specialist, so I sincerely hope corrective action is taken so that unnecessary negative interactions are avoided in the future. read more

Parents!!!! This is the ortho Dr to take your kids to - and good ones are hard to find! My daughter was told just wrap her foot and it would be fine. I took her to Dr. Beauchman and he was so wonderful with her! She was not afraid of her cast or crutches or her boot. Dr.B's entire staff was so sweet and kind. They made us feel like we matter. My daughters foot is healing fine thanks to Dr B and his lovely staff. They have a beautiful clean facility and such wonderful personalities. This is truly a Merced Gem!!! read more

My Husband loves Doctor. He has had several falls due to strokes and has seen Dr. Beauchman a few times for hand/finger breaks. But the last couple of times we have called to see him, I can't either get through to office staff or they dismiss me and don't answer calls. Maybe a finger/hand injury isn't as important as some injuries, but to my husband it's important to have a doctor he can understand and who cares. That is what Dr. Beauchman is to him, if only we could get through to see him when needed. read more

I've been waiting for over a month , Dr seen me twice .. He Supposedly put in for a Procedure, I've been calling & they say there Gonna call me back !!!! Not once have they called back.. So I called my insurance company today and my insurance company when you called them, They told my Insurance carrier that this doctor is out of network so therefore I have to look for another doctor. I talk to them this morning and they were saying still saying they will call me back they're fucking scandalous.!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will I'm in Excruciating pain and inflammation lots of information of my left knee!! They have never told me what they told my insurance carrier today. So Dr. saw me twice and they were still willing to make me another appointment in July. Why would they even try to make me another appointment if that Dr is out of network !!! Dr. B's skills are amazing! We are lucky to have such a knowledgeable and personable specialist in Merced. My son was very scared and nervous when he broke his arm but he received amazing care from Dr. B and his whole staff. Communicating was very easy, calls are returned quickly, and in-office wait time is minimal. My 5 year old daughter broke her arm on the monkey bars at school and by luck I happened to find Valley River Orthopedics. My daughter broke her arm on a Friday afternoon and we were able to come in and be seen on Monday, which if I would have went with the children's hospital I was looking to wait at least a week for an appointment, plus an hour drive out. The staff was extremely friendly and very welcoming, they could tell that my daughter was nervous and they made conversation with her and even gave her a coloring book and crayons, which helped out a lot. The Dr. was great as well! My daughter had a traumatizing experience at the hospital the day she broke it, so she didn't want anyone touching her arm, but the Dr. quickly gained her confidence and got her in a cast. My daughter always looked forward to her check up appointments and I didn't dread them because we were always in and out in such a short amount of time. Such a great office! Owner was quite nice & extremely knowledgeable, but two female assistants who work the front desk are very rude. They look and talk to you as if you are nothing.
