Dr. Miyata was thorough in explaining everything and made sure all of my questions were answered. My surgery was a success, and although a significant amount of tissue had to be removed, I had very little pain afterward. He checked in with me regularly to make sure my healing was progressing well, and I always felt supported throughout my recovery. I'm incredibly grateful for Dr. Miyata's skill, compassion, and willingness to help. I truly feel fortunate that he took my case. Thanks to his care, I finally have my quality of life back, and I would confidently recommend him to anyone needing surgery.

Unfortunately, my experience with the office management was the complete opposite. I called several times to speak with the office manager, only to later find out she had already left for the day. The staff seemed unaware of her availability, which reflected poor communication within the office. I've also spoken with friends who have been seen at this office, and they shared similar frustrations about how difficult it is to get in contact with Manager Maira. I genuinely believe the office would benefit from management that leads with professionalism, compassion, and clear communication. The staff seemed to lack the support and guidance that strong leadership should provide, and I think the overall patient experience would improve significantly with better management. Because of this experience, I won't be recommending Valley River Orthopedics. Merced already has too few healthcare offices that consistently provide compassionate customer service, so it was especially disappointing to encounter this level of hospitality.

They worked hard from the moment we walked into the office to put my wife at ease. The surgery was a major piece of work, but at no time was my uncomfortable, and she was calm and comfortable afterwards as well. These folks understand people, and actually listen. I forwarded despicable disciplinary letter full of gross misrepresentations to the appropriate state agencies. ###################### Dr. Ibrahim Azer refused to schedule an aspiration at my visit January 2025 on my ganglion cyst at Mercy Dignity Medical Group Merced citing size only half cm when in fact is a half inch. Azer prefers surgery to remove cyst instead since that is more profit for Dignity Health Hospital and not medically necessary. In Medicare lingo this is called over utilization.
