When she got back on the line she knew nothing about WC injuries as she couldn't understand what a "CT" injury is. I proceeded to inquire on their available providers. She placed me on hold and transferred me to their coordinator. Coordinator picked up the line, advised the reason for my call and she had the nerve to say they're not accepting injuries older than 6 months. Advised her mine is less than 6 months old and she said they're not accepting new patients at all. Asked her why I wasn't just told that from the beginning (because I knew they were trying to BS me at this point) and the coordinator said they're a small practice and won't accept my "horrible attitude". Crazy because for being a small practice you'd think they'd actually have customer service. Some food for thought for this white trash hole- maybe you should treat others the with the same attitude you want to be treated, and maybe try getting a receptionist who knows about what your office has to offer so that someone doesn't have to dumb it down for her??? Wished I read the previous reviews before I even wasted my time calling this stupidity of a clinic. Call literally only lasted 6 minutes LOL

Injuries are no fun. They are especially bothersome when they impact your daily life. I injured…read moremy shoulder a few months ago and it never healed on its own. My doctor referred me for physical therapy at Golden Bear Physical Therapy and I am so grateful she did! As soon as I entered the office I was impressed with how friendly everyone was. There were two ladies at the front desk who were both helping other patients. One of the PT staff approached me and helped me start the paperwork as a new patient. Usually employees will "stay in their own lane", so I was pleasantly surprised by this. The PT who conducted my evaluation immediately diagnosed my injury as a rotator cuff injury which thankfully was not torn! He performed some manipulation of my shoulder and even though it was uncomfortable, after he finished I experienced so much relief. He gave me a set of exercises to do at home which I happily do twice per day. Each of my follow up visits have been efficient and effective. I have experienced so much progress and improvement in just four visits. I'm excited to see how far I will go with my progress! I cannot recommend Golden Bear highly enough. All of the employees I've encountered have been amazing. If you ever need PT services in the Turlock area, definitely give Golden Bear a try!

I tried everything: my family doctor prescribed anti-inflammatories and rest, which I followed for nearly six months. But as soon as I tried to lift anything again, the pain came right back. Next, I saw a sports medicine specialist who referred me to physical therapy. After weeks of treatment, I still had no relief. Out of options and frustrated, I started researching online and came across Active Release Therapy (ART). Dr. Akin was listed as a certified provider, so I figured I had nothing to lose. From my very first visit, Dr. Akin was attentive and thorough. He listened carefully, gave me a full assessment, and told me he believed he could resolve my issue in 6-8 visits. I'll be honest--I was skeptical. After a year of failed treatments, it was hard to believe this could be fixed that quickly. But sure enough, after just 6 sessions, the pain in my elbow was gone. I was able to return to working out and even started competing in Spartan Races. Since then, I've continued to see Dr. Akin--not for injury, but for regular "tune-ups." Whether it's soreness from racing, posture-related aches from office work, or just the effects of aging, he always helps relieve my discomfort. He is by far the most caring, competent, friendly, patient, and empathetic doctor I have encountered in at least three decades. I thought my previous podiatrist was the cat's pajamas. Dr Patino performs services for me that my former podiatrist flat out refused. He takes at least twice as long as my last guy. Oh and did I mention my former podiatrist teaming up with one of the largest healthcare industries in America (disease care actually is more accurate) was purely to get away from the administrative hassles of running his small three doctor office? I'm fully expecting That love affair to terminate within a year and I won't be going back to him. I'm sticking with Dr Patino for as long as he will see me. As far as the office staff or hours or putting the phones on the exchange, I've not experienced any of what Elizabeth A was bitching about. My personal opinion is the review should be about the doctor, Not the staff. If you have a complaint about staff sure go ahead and mention it, And if it's really horrific knock off one star. But the review is for the doctor. It's our responsibility to know how to get To the doctor's office before we set out for our appointment. If we have any questions about Google Maps or whatever we're using to guide us, Then we should call in advance and clarify. I take full responsibility for being late although it wasn't my fault I was still late. so when they did open, she just said oh no, we're not taking you so I drove all the way out to Turlock for nothing all I needed to do was set up surgery I get back from my vacation, and they have changed their phone number when I finally got the correct number I called them at 10:30 and they were already on the exchange. I think they do more playing around than they do working. I don't know if I will be going back as this is the only podiatrist on my insurance and I do need surgery. I highly recommend their office. I've never met Dr. Patino. Obviously I can't get in. But I do know the exchange lady rather well now. so maybe I'll call and make a date with her to have coffee and talk about my foot. good grief. I was given the choice of two clinics so I chose Tower Physical Therapy because I had heard good things about them. I called right away to make an appointment. Unfortunately the first available appointment was more than a month away, but I understood that they were busy, and was willing to wait. On the day of my appointment I arrived early to check in since there are always forms to complete for the first visit. The receptionist at the front desk took my name and told me that I did not have an appointment. She asked if my name was a totally different name, to which I replied it was not. She asked who I spoke to when I made the appointment. I didn't write down the name of the receptionist as I assumed it wouldn't be a issue. She went to the back to talk to the available PTs and returned a few minutes later (while calling me the wrong name) to inform me that I had missed my appointment which was scheduled that day, but two hours earlier. I know that I would not have scheduled an earlier appointment due to the fact that I was at work at that time. I informed her that I was told a different time (the time I had put in my calendar) and had repeated it to the woman I spoke to when scheduling, to confirm. The receptionist just reiterated that my appointment was earlier that day. The receptionist did say they could possibly fit me in if I was willing to wait, which I agreed to do. I gave her my insurance card and started to complete the necessary paperwork. While I filled out the forms, she started calling a male's name. Since there were two males in the waiting area with me, I assumed she was calling for one of them. Nope. She was reading the name on my insurance card which happened to be my husband's name. I realized what was happening and took my card back. I told her that was my husband's name, not my name. She made a comment stating that I didn't respond when she called my husband's name. He was not there with me and that is not my name so no, I didn't believe she was calling for me. In the meantime, a second woman came to the desk and began the task of verifying my insurance. She called me back to the desk after a few minutes and informed me that they do not accept my insurance. I left feeling very frustrated. Looking back there was another red flag about the whole fiasco. Usually a patient receives a phone call from the office or clinic to confirm the appointment. No one called me the day before to confirm my appointment. Not even for the time they claimed my appointment was scheduled. Very odd. While I totally understand that we are all human and everyone makes mistakes or errors, what disappointed me the most was how the receptionist handled the situation. It is a shame because while I've heard good things about the therapy staff, I would not consider going back, all because of that receptionist.
