Idk how they expect me to belive they have the right to touch me and inject me in my body with anything they think is "good for me" but can't eject stuff out of my body ?! Especially when i constantly kept telling the no pain killers because i have a high tolerance and they still pushed the meds. Even after I just wanted to leave because they did nothing for me and they wanted to keep me there and kept saying I refused help! WHAT HELP. NO SUGGESTIONS OR EVEN AN ALTERNATIVE OR ANY HELP JUST STRAIGHT TO MEDS. and wanted me to look like I was crazy for just asking why would I need paperwork of getting looked at when they did nothing had me surrounded like a criminal over me not wanting discharge papers. The ER department is grossly understaffed. I saw a doctor in the first 2 hours who requested various tests. The tests were completed in the next hour. I've now been in the ER for 3 hours. I waited another 5 hours before I saw the doctor who gave me a diagnosis. I feel that 8 hours is far too long. read more

They do not know how to take care of patients. My Mother-in-law just went there again bc she's in so much pain from having shingles that she went it to be seen and all they said was,,,, Oh there's nothing wrong with you! WTF Are you fricken serious? She's in pain with shingles on her body and that's what they say. This review does not even include the other times she's gone there for medical attention and got nothing done. Where did these doctors get there medical licenses? What in a cracker Jacks Box! Never I mean never, take any of your loved ones here nor yourself either. A close friend has gone several times to Emanuel Hospital for treatment related to her cancer. The awful stories that she told me about this death trap were shocking. When she went to the emergency room for the first time, she left with a hypodermic needle still stuck in her arm. On another occasion, the nurses couldn't find a pillow. Some of the other stuff that happened was too disgusting to mention. My friend said she never wanted to go to this dirty hospital again, which she said was on a list of the ten worst hospitals in the country, so she got some quality insurance via Obamacare and moved in with a friend in Sacramento, switching her care over to Davis. But because she had previously scheduled a liver biopsy at Emanuel, she had to go one more time. Upon arrival, they let her know that this procedure often meant a pierced lung and several days confinement in this dirty place. They did pierce her lung, but she only had to stay for several hours. They might have mentioned this significant info ahead of time. This is where people are stuck going to in Turlock, unless they are able to drive to the hospital in the next town. The worst medical care I have experienced in my life. Went to the ER in extreme pain because I shattered my wrist (over night). They made me sit there like regular people waiting for a doctors appointment for hours, no pain medicine, etc..... people who work there acted like they did not give a crap I have had much better service anywhere else. I did have a really nice nurse at the end, but other than that, I cannot say any other good things about this place. Go somewhere else if you need emergency care. read more

Zero compassion or care for what you need help with whatsoever. They make you feel dumb for everything that comes out of your mouth because they think they're so smart. Doctors laughed at me while I was in a state of shock that lasted three days.... I had to see another doctor way later in the day after my incident and this incident at Emanuel. Urgent care on Geer rd (not sure doctors name) he told me I was in shock and he prescribed me anxiety meds. Didn't believe him until the anxiety meds kicked in and I finally didn't feel a pounding pit in my chest or feeling doomed to die. I explicitly told the young male dr in glasses at Emanuel how scared I was for my life and that I live completely alone and I am barely 21. I thought they'd understand because they were very young but instead they laughed at me and laughed again when I came back a second time. I came back because I was EXTREMELY paranoid and only felt worse after I left. They left me confused because I realized I received zero care or help so I went back asking for help again. They had finally performed blood work to check my oxygen levels which I had to specifically ask for and I didn't know I needed it and I only found out that's what I needed because I HAD TO DO MY OWN RESEARCH FOR WHAT CARE I NEEDED. They then made me wait an extra three hours with no one else in the waiting room until they opened at 8am to perform the blood work. (they could've told me I was going to wait until their hospital hours are open???? thought this was an emergency room??) there were a shit ton of nurses behind those closed doors having fun not doing shit. They look at you like they're brain dead, zero activity behind those eyes. Extremely immature. By the way nurses and docs.... we can hear you talking shit and making fun of us behind the door, you're not cute and that one doctor/nurse doesn't want to sleep with you. Maybe find a different field if you care more about validation from your employees than your career/job itself and your spouses at home. This place just seems like a dating pool disguised as a healthcare workplace. I was transferred from Mercy Medical Center in Merced to Emanuel Med Center due to minor cardiac issues. The nurses in the CCU were incredible and did an oustanding job. The doctors, not so much. Two doctors apparently either don't communicate with each other, or were having a pissing contest between themselves. I was there three days, no shower, no food, hooked up to IV's and monitors all with the promise of a stress test that never took place. I ended up forcing my discharge because two doctors forgot the most important thing in medicine - the patient. I give the nurses in the CCU 5+ stars, but if I could give half a star or less to the doctors, I would. read more

Tried to get more medicine after being sent back to the waiting room like the doctor told me to try and ask the front lady's and I was met with hostility and attitude. Not sure her name but was wearing a white shirt and had curly hair sitting in window C. The ER docs and staff wear no badges so you dont know who is who! ! Sick patient wanted to lie down and was told to go back to the registration room. Great medical organization. The staff is always attentive and I have never gotten anything but stellar care there. I don't know why people would complain unless they think people can read their minds and cater to their every whim. I went through my cancer journey there, at least a dozen surgeries and have always been impressed with the quality of care and caliber of medical professionals there. So they sent my subscription to the wrong pharmacy , which can happen even though I told them twice before I left not to sent it to there. I called them at 11am to have them sent it to the right pharmacy and she said she would find the doctor. After 4 hours the pharmacy still had not received it so i called them around 3: 45 pm and she said it had been sent and the doctor apologized for sending it to the wrong pharmacy. After calling the pharmacy again and calling them back , sounding irritatted she yelled it had been sent at 4: 04 pm . I told her that means you never sent it out till after I called them back the second time and she got quiet. read more

Do not go here, they will perform unauthorized surgery on you or your family. They killed my mom. Plain and simple. My whole family was adamant in telling the doctors and nurses that she was too weak for the surgery that she did not need, or rather, one that could wait until she was strong enough to do (a biopsy). The nurses were neglectful, mean, and would not help my elderly mom. At one point we had to remove an IV that was bent from her arm that they should have noticed. (we have pictures) The hospital would also not release her to us or transfer her to another hospital, that the only way they would do so was if she went a rehab facility. They continued to keep her saying that said rehab facilities were full and were waiting for a room but when we called those places they somehow had plenty of room to take her. If you or your family need long term care, do not go here. Find another hospital. read more

Their ER is absolutely horrible. Under staffed. Takes HOURS to see somebody if you have an emergency... and, while you're in pain, you're expected to fill out all these forms on your cellphone. It's like, "Excuse me, this is urgent and I need care... the rest of this can wait." I threw my back out and was in terrible pain... took 6 hours to see somebody. Maybe that's how all emergency rooms are... but it's insane and completely awful. read more

I had an outpatient surgery here and it and everything went smooth and the staff was amazing. I have had over a dozen surgeries over the years and this place is top notch. From the start the staff was very helpful and supportive and the cohesion I saw within this group was amazing. They were all very attentive and super thorough with everything from beginning to end. Seemed like a great working environment in a very tough profession. I had to travel over an hour for my procedure and it was well worth it! Thank you to everyone at the outpatient center! read more

Update to my last review update: *Info listed within the log-in area to their patient/client website where I was viewing results for several X-rays I had less than 3 days ago. The information is posted immediately below & in quotation marks as I copied & pasted it: Update:   "Beginning Monday, April 5, your My Health Rec patient portal will display results as soon as they become available. You may see your results posted before your care team.  Your physician/care team will contact you if any results are concerning or critical. Please give your physician/care team at least two business days to review your results.  If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or go directly to your local emergency department." This is good news. Great news for someone like me who likes to see the written results of the skilled physician reading the films. This and when I see my medical provider who ordered these films after a major fall I took, I will have done my research beforehand and will be prepared with questions for her. Masks are still required indoors. I appreciate this very much. As usual, the hospital was quite quiet and peaceful and I was treated respectfully by all employees and departments I visited. Lastly, NO appointments are available for X-rays. You have to walk in instead. 08:00 AM PST to 4:00 PM PST. This wasn't too bad and I waited about 30 minutes including the lengthy check-in/registration process. Then you have a seat and someone from the department takes you to the department where your procedure/tests will be conducted. I have been in many hospitals in California and this one is one of my favorites because they keep the place clean, quiet and enforce reasonably safe methods/actions from visitors into the facility which decreases the spread of communicable diseases. Now, a patient's test results are no longer held hostage by medical facilities and the medical personnel ordering said tests for the person paying the bill; the patient. Bravo Emanuel Medical Center. I thought medical professionals were supposed to be caring, apparently not at this ER! The entire staff was rude, lacked any empathy, and honestly didn't seem competent to do their job. My daughter is an adult but she is young so navigating the health care system while feeling sick is not easy, the staff from top to bottom made her feel even worse! Imagine feeling so bad that you actually go to the ER and as you seek the nurse rolls her eyes at you, walks out of the room, doesn't answer your questions and actually gets mad at you for asking them! If you read through the recent reviews it's clear they have an awful ER and I would agree with those that say to go to another hospital if you're able to, this place is absolute trash! I've been here since 130 it's 6 now. I asked about my labs and they said they couldn't find them and they would need to be ordered. Wow, this hospital is pure trash. I'm convinced you could have a bullet wound and they would tell you to take a seat in the waiting room. If you come here, you will wait at a minimum 6-8 hours. I am not exaggerating. That's just to be seen ! After you're seen you will have at least another 4-6 hours. You are potentially looking at a 10-14 hour session if you go to this ER. Do not come here unless you are extremely desperate. Go to Modesto hospitals. This place sucks. The nursing staff is nice, if you ever get to see the nursing staff. Fever I wasn't treated or seen by a Physician this Hospitals staff was unprofessional and discrimination. I asked for an aspirin to break my 103.1 temperature and was told no that as soon as whatever drugs I was on, I wasn't on drugs of any sort . That the Dr would examine me my fever got so I I started to slur my words I couldn't think clearly obviously if these dirtbag judgemental idiots would have treated me clearly would've not stuck there foots in mouth. If I could give more than 5 Stars for this facility, the admin team, and the various nurses I had, I would do that in a heartbeat. I went there today (10/05/2023 for a cardiac procedure. I was instructed to arrive at 5:30am, which my son and I arrived early, having to drive up from Los Banos. Let's start with the admin team: the young lady who assisted me was very professional and courteous. Shortly after registering, I was called back into the Same Day Surgery unit where I was met by a group of lovely people. My admitting nurse was Christine. I have to say that Emanual is very fortunate to have a wonderful nurse as she. When I explained that I am considered a Hard Stick when referring to lab tests and IVs. This angel was able to put, not 1, but 2 IVs in where I didn't suffer any unusual discomfort. As a matter of fact, the second one I didn't even know she was done until she put tape on it! Then after she completed all her tasks for getting me registered, my son and I were greeted by a kind gentleman who is the Chaplain. He assured us that I was in good hands and that if there was anything I needed, just to ask. Then a nurse came from the Cath/Lab to get me. She was just as efficient as Christine. I wish I could remember all the nurses' names in the ER but they kept me laughing and relaxed. Back to recovery and met Alma and Melva. When my body started spasming super bad, she indicated that Dr. Nazari ordered some pain relief but when she told me what it was, I told her that won't work. She immediately got another pain med order which was given to me right away. Once that kicked in, I fell into a sound sleep. As a matter of fact, she had to physically wake me up so that I could be discharged. My doctor is Dr. Reza Nazari who I trust very much with my heart health. So my star breakdown would go as follows: 5 - Dr.Nazari 5- Christine 5 - Alma 5 - Melva 5 - Chaplain 5 - to every one else involved in my care today. I sorry if I can't remember everyone's name. I give this place two stars for the exceptional post op care. If I could give negative for the pre op I would. I was treated subhuman from 8:25 to after 3pm. My surgery was scheduled for 9:45 but I was dehydrated and they insisted I have a urine sample prior to surgery. It wasn't until my doctor came in after his surgery that was supposed to be after mine that I found out they suspected I was on drugs. So what if I was I? Is that any reason to tear someone? I was in pain, hungry and miserable. No one wanted to tell me anything and only gave me dirty looks when they walked by my room. I felt like a leper. I was so depressed and cried most of the day. The aftercare was the only saving Grace. I'm glad they didn't take me back to the same area I was for pre op. These ladies were amazing and completely doted on me. It was so different. read more

I'm 42, with no real serious health conditions. On 5/17/2023, I woke up at 3:30am with horrible left side chest pains that was going into my left shoulder and left side of my neck. After 30 minutes of accessing my health with my family at home we decided to go into Emanuel Hospital in Turlock, CA since my pain wasn't going away. The ER did an EKG on me which didn't indicate a heart attack (thank goodness), but I was still in a lot of pain. They put me in a bed at approx. 4:15am, the nursing staff was amazing and so sweet, but Dr. Malachowski was horrible. She asked me rapid fire questions within 1-2 minutes, listened to my chest, and left the room and never came back. She ordered a chest x-ray and took my blood, then after an hour drew more blood to recheck levels. They gave me baby asprin and Nitroglycerin which gave me the worst headache in the world. I never received the chest x-ray results or my bloodwork results during the visit. I was discharged approx. at 9:30am without seeing the doctor again. The nurse, D. Dubberley came in and said there was 15 patients ahead of me, and only one doctor on staff, so I can wait to talk to the doctor, or I can be discharged. I opted to be discharged but I was still having chest pain without any explanation. Who gives someone with chest pain the option to leave the hospital? That blew me away. I do not recommend Emanuel or Dr. Jessica Malachowski ever. Due to this I will not be going back to Emanuel in the future. Today, 5/18/2023, I'm still having chest pain but not as severe, but it is still there. I'm following up with my regular doctor today and have an appointment with a cardiologist. read more

It was bad enough that there wasn't any soap in the emergency room bathroom let alone to see dried blood, yes dried blood, a biohazard, on the floor in the waiting room, as well as a couple unattended vomit trays laying around. What an extremely sorry excuse for a hospital! This place needs to be closed down or get somebody competent to run it. A few months ago, I had to go in here for extreme stomach pain. I never saw a doctor. They did a few exams, didn't find anything and were about to send me home. This was after sitting in the ER waiting room for hours, writhing in pain. I had to beg them for a shot of (non-narcotic) pain meds. That was all they gave me. Nothing else for my pain. I suffered through the night and went to Urgent Care the next day. The doctor there told my wife he was concerned about my condition. He gave me some meds (not pain stuff, some meds to try and fix the problem) and they worked! I was in and out of there in less than an hour. Last night, my twelve year old daughter fell at cheer practice and broke her wrist. It was late, so we decided to take her to Emanuel since it was close, instead of taking her to Modesto, which, in hindsight, I wish we would have done. My wife took her to the ER and there were 31 people ahead of them, waiting to register. Now, you'd think that you would triage people instead of letting them suffer. Nope! They made her sit in the ER, with no care or meds, until all 31 people ahead of them were registered. After a little bit, they at least got her a sling, but that was all. I called Urgent Care to get her in there, but they said they couldn't see her because they don't have an X-ray machine. She finally got X-rays after three hours of waiting, still with nothing to help her pain. Two hours after the X-rays were done, they finally got called back to sit in a hallway and nobody ever checked on her pain level. Two and a half hours after X-rays (its now 12:45AM and they got there at 7:20PM), they still hadn't seen a nurse or a doctor. They were finally released after seven hours. All she got was a soft cast. My poor little girl had to suffer for SEVEN HOURS without getting anything at all to help her pain. They claim they have a new system that requires a pharmacy approval before any meds can be given, but they couldn't get anybody to answer a phone. Now, I don't expect them to give her Vicodin or something like that, in fact, she has kidney issues and has to be careful about what she takes, but they could've given her Tylenol. It's sad that people, especially kids, have to sit there and suffer for hours upon hours in a place that is supposed to help them. Then, they got their paperwork to excuse her from school. It wasn't filled out at all! All it had was a sticker with her name on it. Her discharge paperwork said she fell at "sheer" practice. Emanuel has had a horrible reputation for years. They recently remodeled and made it look like an actual hospital as opposed to a third world medical clinic. Sadly, their medical practices are still akin to a medical clinic. read more

My dad had surgery there after 6 days he had compilation to pass urine and my surgeon sent us to ER there .I cant explain how much pain they cause my dad there .He is 69 year old and had surgery 6 days ago .The nurse put catheter don't event have any knowledge of anything she Hurt him at lot .When he walks out form ER his catheter fell out cause more pain .And she tried second time and about to kill my dad with pain .He is been sent home with blocked urine to die this kind of service they serve there such a unprofessional people there don't even have train staff for Er.Shame on you guys . read more

While my daughter in law received good care some of the staff was rude in the labor and delivery department. I was buzzed in and told that she was in room 1. I go in and then yelled at that I can't be in there by a nurse. I said well the other nurses said to go in. I told her you don't need to yell at me and I hugged my son and then left. I told the other nurses that I was told to leave and where can I wait. Was finally put in a nice waiting area which was fine. Then after 26 hours the baby was born. I was told after he was born I could see him. They made me wait 2 hours and as they left the labor and delivery dept to put her in a room they told me to come on. I had not even seen my grandson until this moment and we are walking down a hallway at 3:30am. I'm trying to look at him and the nurse pushing him says... just keep going. Finally in the room the realized I had not seen him and then they were like Oh you can touch him. I did not like the way I was treated but the dr that delivered the baby was amazing according to my son.... I'm extremely grateful for that but I think the staff could use a reminder about manners. As many others, I received a very prompt response to save face of the company asking me to check my messages. I provided my contact info. Noone has reached out. Their hospital isn't that busy, at least from what I saw, I could be wrong. I've called 7 times asking what a medical BILLABLE CODE in regards to "other misadventures during medical care" were and I've also never received a call back on that either. The code equates to a severe misstep on their end that can boil down to being unsafe during surgery and I still have no idea what it was, but, they are happy to bill me for it. This hospital is a joke, just like oak valley in Oakdale. I don't get how hospitals can operate like this and still be in business and are allowed to rip people off money when they hardly do anything. My abscess drainage cost over 105k. To have my son via C-section at dignity downtown Sac in 2014 was 30k 100% covered by my work insurance. Let that sink in. read more
