I recently got our driveway done by Pathways Concrete and it came out great. I was a little worried because it took a while to get it done. It took just under 2 months from when we signed the contract and gave our initial 1/2 deposit down (they don't take credit card as website suggested). In his defense, it has been a very wet season which delays work, but the communication could have been better. He didn't mention that we would need a permit but I found out on my own and got it done myself. So please make sure you look into your town's requirements yourself or ask him beforehand. I thought they should be aware of permit requirements or at least mention it with so many years experience, but hey. I had read some bad reviews and started to get nervous, he agreed to not accept the final payment until the city came out and inspected. They did and it passed inspection. So... although the road was long it comes down to the fact that our driveway came out great and since his price was lower than others I'm giving 4 stars instead of 3. Hoping to update this review. I know they do excellent work Pathways is very knowledgeable.They answered our questions and gave an excellent quote. The downside is that we have to contact them to find out the latest status. We made a deposit . We may be a small job to them... but are looking forward to getting future work done. Undertanding ... but as a customer we feel that they should be giving us updates, not having to leave phone messages and emails as to when the work would be done. Worst company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with! I hired Pathways first week of June, waited two months and have nothing . I got tired of his B.S. and terminated my contract with him and told him that I want my $$$$ back. First week of September I have lost all Summer and have nothing to show for my misfortune of dealing with Pathways Concrete. Two weeks ago, after posting a negative comment Tom called and stated he has my deposit check. He said he would drop it off and I have never heard another word. They asked for a down payment up front on June 6, 2013 for a job that would be completed (weather-permitting) about two weeks later. The check was cashed on June 10th and I heard little about when the project would actually get done. Following this time, they kept rescheduling the work date and not answering phone calls. After several months, I found that they had not even tried to get a permit from the City because they said they didn't need one (which was not true). The city went after them to get this permit and months later they filed with several different addresses, which was suspicious. I continued to call and they stopped answering my calls in October. I asked for my deposit back since they did not do any work and I have still heard nothing. I've filed a report with the police because I had a signed contract for work that they bailed on - they took the down payment and disappeared, which is theft. At this point, I just want my money back and don't care to do any business with them. read more

Steve and Pat are very knowledgeable and polite. They showed us photos of there excellent work. Hoping to write an update on this because since they took our deposit - we have to call them and leave emails to find out the most latest status. Yes, our work done seems to be small compared to others- hoping to have future projects with them. We gave them a deposit before Easter. It is almost mid May and the driveway markers are put in. Pat listens to my husbands needs/requests. Hoping to here from THEM, not the other way around. We are understanding that due to sickness and to mechinal issues the work could not be done yet. We put a deposit down in the beginning of June. It is now the end of October and no work has been done. He contacted us a couple times to tell us he would schedule a time to come do the work but nothing!! Do not trust this guy for anything!!! This guy is an absolute complete scammer. He looks like a scumbag and he really is one!!! For some dumb reason we trusted him. We read the reviews and he seemed pretty legit. BUT HE IS A TOTAL SCUMBAG AND WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!! DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY FOR ANYTHING!! So if you have been scammed by this guy as I have I suggest you call your local police. Oswego police told me that since he took money he can be arrested for larcen but if enough people file complaints he will be arrested for grand larceny which results in jail time. i hired this crew to take out the patio, back stairs and front stoop at one of my rental properities ,they had the best price and to me being in the construction field and owning several buildings and a few rental houses i am very aware of ones quilifications , they were the most knowledgable and to me professional, they kept to there word as far a timeing , they were poliet, they allowed me to make some last minute changes , WOW and didnt try to charge me more, these guys know there stuff, they did an outstanding job and i plan on useing them again if i require the type of services they provide .Thanks Pathways and crew, read more

My husband and I hired Pathways Concrete to replace our driveway after receiving quotes from about five different companies. They had by far the best price and also suggested ways to go above and beyond (like replacing our failing front sidewalk). The crew was polite and worked incredibly efficiently to get the job done. Hired them in April. Gave them a check for half of the work. It is now September have not seen them yet. Called them hundreds of times. Left messages emails, and a written letter. Still nothing. When Tom does call he says he is coming and does not show up. Now we cant get our deposit back. Got screwed. Would not hire them. Calling States Attorney today. read more

This Company is HORRIBLE!! Do your homework before you hire them! They did a horrible job on my patio and nothing was done properly from start to finish, they never pulled a permit, never laid base or mesh. My patio was cracking and falling apart within a week. See attached pictures. This Company does not stand behind their work! I have filed complaints with Lisa Madigan's office along with other people who have had the same problem and I would recommend staying as far away from this company as possible, if you have already been taken by this company like so many other innocent people I would recommend you contact Lisa Madigan's office with your complaint so you can add your name to the list. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!! They do not care about customer service or their quality. I went through the worst experience ever with this company. I hired them last year to take out my old brick patio and install a new stamped concrete patio. Once we signed the contract and gave them a upfront deposit, they did not come out for over 2 months to get the job done. It took multiple calls and multiple emails to finally get them out. I was hoping to have it completed by the time summer hit but no it wasn't until the summer was almost over. Once they finally came out they installed my patio. They still needed to pour fresh soil and seed around the patio and they said they needed the other half of the money for them to go get it and come back. I trusted Tom and needless to say, they never came back to pour dirt. According to the contract, they were supposed to build me a fire pit with my existing bricks (that did not happen) and pour dirt and seed around patio and that did not happen either. It has been a year now and after multiple emails to some Steve Drew guy who I assume is the owner, telling me that they will be out blah blah blah blah, they still have not finished the job. The way the patio is right now, if I do not pour dirt around it and pack it in, the patio will crack with time. I am taking this to the next step with my attorney because I will not let this company get away with this especially since I have received estimates from landscaping companies saying it will cost over a grand to do this when I already paid Pathways for this job. I should have never given them the other half of the money until everything was complete but I made the mistake of trusting them. This is by far the worst company to deal with. They obviously do not care about customer service and their reputation since they did not bother to come back and finish the job. These guys are a complete Joke. read more
