Rice, Fish and Shrimp in a fish sauce

So our first night out in Lisbon, we found this seafood place just down from our hotel, everything was top notch, service was always on point and quickly adhered to, we had starters, bread, olives and cheese, everything was perfect our entrées were large, and didn't have to wait long, everything was super fresh and delicious, the wine was exquisite, this was without a doubt a truly magnificent dinner, thank you Pateo for a wonderful evening l.

Cute little seafood eatery nearby the Oceanarium, the kind with cloth napkins and silverware. The menu is available in English on the opposite side. I ordered the grilled sea bass and my friend the fish and pasta dish. Mine was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. The accompanying veggies were okay. My friend's dish was also good but it's NOT pasta in the way you'd expect. It little macaroni elbows swimming in a tomato based sauce so it felt more like a hearty seafood stew. Service was good, but we came at a good time and there was only a couple other patrons in the restaurant. There were a few very aggressive and persistent fruit flies that just would not go away. Otherwise, a really pleasant lunch.

The food was impeccable and it was nice our table was ready, after making a reservation as well. Our wine choice didn't start out well, but the second was amazing and our server was so understanding. My bf has the squid and I had the seafood dish. OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD!

The most magical Portuguese experience. And the food was divine. Go in the early evening and catch the golden hour.

Best cod I have ever eaten. Pleasant outside seating. Patient with my poor Portuguese.

And we added a starter of octopus salad and some sparkling Sangria.

Michelin bib gourmet place located fairly far from the touristy area (need to get subway including…read morea connection). It was a fairly good place though not worth the commute. The cooking seems really home style. No fancy presentation or ingredients.... just regular components in large servings. Prices are very reasonable especially given the portions. I'd recommend the pork and clam dish. Pork was tender and very flavorful. Potato's were delicious. Main complaint was that all 3 dishes had lots of potatoes. Staff speak English.

Too lazy to make it to downtown for dinner, we decided to explore the restaurants near our hotel…read more I've always like Alentejo cuisine, and it'll be a nice change from the seafood we've been having. As usual, we are presented with several dishes of appetizers (olive, cheeses, bread) as we sit down. It's just the custom, not really a ploy to cheat customers, though I know many customers feel so. Just let the waiter know what you will like to keep, and he'll take the other dishes away, no hash feeling. Usually these appetizers are listed in the menu as well, so the cost is not necessary a surprise. Anyway, we decide to get the Açorda à Alentejana, the classic soup from the region made with bread, loads of garlic, finely chopped coriander, and poached eggs. It's a light soup, garlicky and definitely great for a cool night or if you have a cold. I couldn't decide between the Porco à Alentejana (pork w clam) and the stewed lamb, but ended up with lamb. The broth is lighter than I expected, but the lamb is very tender, and you can tell from the bones it's a really young lamb, so it's a good thing they keep the seasoning light. They have many wines from the Alentejo region, including some half bottles, we ended up with one that's €6.50. Quite good, with notes of dried plums, though a bit strong for the dish itself.
