Shrey was the project manager and Marcus was the lead engineer. They worked closely with our architect to complete the initial structural engineering and were very responsive throughout the entire process. After we submitted the plans to the city, there were several questions and comments from the city, and the team responded quickly and worked with our architect to address them. Whenever additional discussion was needed, Shrey and Marcus were readily available for video calls with us and our architect to review the issues and resolve any outstanding items. Their communication and follow-up were excellent. Their pricing was also very reasonable, and overall we were very pleased with the quality of their work, responsiveness, and professionalism. I would definitely recommend SF Bay Engineering to anyone looking for a reliable and responsive structural engineering team.

I hired SF Bay Engineering for seismic retrofit plans under the Earthquake Brace and Bolt program…read more I was told architectural drawings were required before they could proceed, so I hired and paid an architect to prepare them. After multiple back and forth and with SF Bay Engineering admitting they aren't familiar with the requirements, they terminated the contract. They refunded their engineering fee, but the architectural cost remained my responsibility. I brought the matter to small claims court, and the court ruled that because I retained the plans, reimbursement was not warranted. I recommend future clients clarify in writing how architectural costs will be handled if SF Bay Engineering terminates the contract. Happy to provide additional details upon request

We had a pretty challenging project as we had a Deck construction that was initially started with a framework. THen we needed to have a permit in order to proceed.. The work was not good and the contractor who worked on our project went M.I.A. I got a few references to HC Structural engineering and I read all the YELP reviews and their reviews on the website. I also saw a youtube video of HUMZA and found out he was also a Professor at Santa Clara University. All those factors made me want to work with him even before we had a contract/agreement. He provided a reasonable quote for us after the initial consultation and everything was listed in the terms so you know exactly what you are signing up for. He is very busy since he's so good and he made it very clear that their work will take some time to do so he was honest up front. The other thing I will say is I was assigned the Senior Structural Engineer JAMIE GREENE. Jamie is awesome. He was very easy to work with and spent a few hours with us in a meeting explaining all the detail work he had done in his design for us along with the structural engineering calculations. He was very prompt and responded right away. He is just an overall great guy who is very smart and very calm and accommodating. We just got a permit issued which is also something JAMIE helped us out with by communicating directly with the city builder so that we don't get rejected for another permit request. With that said, I will refer anyone to work with HC Structural Engineering as I love their honesty, I love how prompt they were and how professional they were. Everything met my expectation above and beyond.

Later we asked her to be the structural engineer reviewer on our house remodel, which she turned around in less than 24 hours, provided paperwork for filing for permits, etc., all for $230. Vesna was a big find -- I've been quoted structural engineering fees of $1000+ & taking weeks, for the kind of work she efficiently does in days for much less money. I'd recommend her for any residential construction reviews.

This is an exceptionally well-managed company, and every step of the process was handled professionally and efficiently. We obtained three bids, and Foundation Solutions was by far the easiest and most competent company to work with. They use Ram Jack which was minimally invasive. They truly run their organization like a well-oiled machine. Our project manager, Brett Everling, was excellent. He kept us informed every step of the way, from the project planning to the city permits and construction schedule. Communication was outstanding, and everything proceeded exactly as promised (and even a little ahead of schedule). For a project of this size and complexity, it's remarkable that everything went so smoothly. The Foundation Solutions crew was punctual, hardworking, and incredibly diligent. They hand-dug the excavation areas, which was no small task, and they treated the property with care. The amount of concrete that needed to be removed was kept to a minimum, and the concrete repairs afterward were done nicely. We did have one issue with the sprinkler system after it was reassembled, but Foundation Solutions responded quickly and resolved it without hesitation. That level of customer service reinforced that we had chosen the right company.
