I also saw a youtube video of HUMZA and found out he was also a Professor at Santa Clara University. All those factors made me want to work with him even before we had a contract/agreement. He provided a reasonable quote for us after the initial consultation and everything was listed in the terms so you know exactly what you are signing up for. He is very busy since he's so good and he made it very clear that their work will take some time to do so he was honest up front. The other thing I will say is I was assigned the Senior Structural Engineer JAMIE GREENE. Jamie is awesome. He was very easy to work with and spent a few hours with us in a meeting explaining all the detail work he had done in his design for us along with the structural engineering calculations. He was very prompt and responded right away. He is just an overall great guy who is very smart and very calm and accommodating. We just got a permit issued which is also something JAMIE helped us out with by communicating directly with the city builder so that we don't get rejected for another permit request. With that said, I will refer anyone to work with HC Structural Engineering as I love their honesty, I love how prompt they were and how professional they were. Whenever additional discussion was needed, Shrey and Marcus were readily available for video calls with us and our architect to review the issues and resolve any outstanding items. They refunded their engineering fee, but the architectural cost remained my responsibility. I brought the matter to small claims court, and the court ruled that because I retained the plans, reimbursement was not warranted. Vesna was a big find -- I've been quoted structural engineering fees of $1000+ & taking weeks, for the kind of work she efficiently does in days for much less money.
