Since I only could access the in-law unit bedroom wall side, I requested mineral wool, two layers of quietrock with green glue in between. Many contractors did not want to do the two layers of quietrock and didn't think the green glue was necessary. Do It Now Drywall immediately recommended all these as the best option for my wall. They were professional, prompt, courteous, experienced, and completed the whole job from prep to cleanup and even help me painted the wall with reasonable pricing. They made sure to insulate the electric outlets and used acoustic caulking to seal all gaps. Who knew ¼ inch sheet rock was a thing and it could go over the old stuff to provide a fresh, smooth surface to texture. Jeff also provided suggestions on wall textures to match some of the existing work to provide continuity. I'm scheduling them to come back and work on a couple more rooms as we remove the previous owner's wallpaper over paneling mess. I feel that you can tell a lot about a company by talking to the person who answers the phone. Amber quickly inspired confidence in my choice of choosing this company to contact. She answered the phone immediately, was professional and listened to me carefully. She set up an appointment when Tony could visit. And she explained Tony would text me the day of the appointment with the window of time he would be arriving. Love organized and efficient. As per his word, Tony texted me and gave me a 4 to 5:00 p.m. window and showed up on time. For the next hour Tony evaluated the situation by getting a very close look at the problem area. He then went up into the attic for a closer inspection. When he came back he had pictures on his phone and explained what was going on. As it turns out there is an open area in the roof where rain water can get in. This likely created the spot that has now formed. He said it was fixable and would send me an estimate via email. If I agreed with the estimate, I would be added to his schedule. (Luckily this is a very slow leak and the ceiling spot is small.)
