Where do I start. Here we go I was referred to this "doctor" by a family member so i had some level of expectation to be at least taken seriously. I had an issue with my inner ear and when I was seen by this "doctor" not only was he the most arrogant and condescending person I have ever met, his solution to my problem was to eat a steak. I am not kidding said my inner ear might need more support that's why its not draining. This "professional" also charges insane rates for his in office visits. I went in for a tonsillectomy consult. I was nervous because of all the bad reviews I saw. My experience with him however, was wonderful. Wait time was nonexistent, doc came right in and asked me a few questions then walked me through the procedure and the pre/post op care to make sure I still wanted to go through with it. He was kind, patient, informative and had a very calm demeanor. I got none of the condescension, rudeness, and disrespect that other people encountered. I thought he was great. The doctor was arrogant, intimidating and condescending. He told me he dealt in facts, and the pain that I was feeling was not factual, and he would roll his eyes and give a little laugh if I would use certain words that were not "scientific" or "factual". I have never had a problem with any doctor in my 63 years of life until now, and have always been pleased with my health insurance. So this is not an issue with my healthcare only with this doctor. I went home and researched my symptoms online and found that, yes, it does exist when he said it is nonexistent. Then I researched him and found that he is quite unpopular (frequent 1 star reviews) with women. I found many complaints that were almost a carbon copy of what I found in my situation. He mocked me and interrupted me often. I had to ask him to examine my nose. I will not go back in to see him. He asked me if he gave me a scan of my sinus and found nothing wrong. Can I "move on" with my life. Once again, emphasizing that nothing was wrong with me. There very much is something wrong with my sinuses, I wouldn't have driven over an hour to see a specialist, when going to doctors in the first place for me is like pulling teeth. The last thing he said to me as he left the room was that he would be writing everything down that we talked about in his notes. I would expect any doctor to do that. But no doctor has ever said that as they left the room. After that bizarre waste of time with that doctor I feel like that comment was nothing more than a threat that he would be documenting just in case I would be completing any surveys or writing any letters that might tarnish his reputation. read more

I don't even want to give this guy one star but had no choice. The most arrogant, rude and condescending doctor I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. Surprised his ego can get him through a door. I always look at reviews before I go to a new doctor but I was in so much discomfort that I neglected to do my research and boy I paid the price. My visit was because I thought I had something stuck in my throat but after he scoped me discovered it was a severe case of acid reflux and my throat was burned. I should have recognized the signs myself as I have had life long problems with AR but with COVID I was concerned I was getting sick. After the scope procedure, he proceeded to chastise me about my weight for the next 20 minutes. He was rude and insensitive (which most men are with this subject but I don't pay my husband $300 to get this criticism either). Granted he was right, I do need to loose weight (probably 30lbs) but not morbidly obese like he made me feel. All he talked about was my BMI! He looked straight at me and said "YOU NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT!" "I BET YOU HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE" (which I don't and never have) OR ARE DIABETIC (which I'm not, but had he glanced even once at my medical file he would have known). I told him I play tennis 4 days a week and he said "DO YOU MOVE?" and I was like "excuse me?" He said "MOST PEOPLE JUST STAND THERE". I play 4.5 tennis with men, not women and he is mocking me? Then he said "CALORIES IN, CALORIES OUT!". I felt like I was sitting there with my husband except this time paying for this criticism! The only advice he gave me for my AR was to double up on my medication. He spent 5 minutes on my problem and 20 on my weight! After I left and got into my car I started balling my head off! It was humiliating! Certainly didn't make me feel like hitting the gym,...more like heading to the ice cream parlor!! Again, not disputing that losing weight would help my condition, its the way you say something AND it's not even his specialty so what made him think I wanted to hear that? After a year in COVID land...being cooped up, tennis club closed and life as abnormal as it could be, I wonder what it was that made him think i was up for a (non) pep talk about my weight? On my way out, I had to look at the door to make sure I went into the correct Suite and not "Weight Life Coach R US". My advice....STAY AWAY or bring lots of tissue! read more

After reviewing my CT scan, Dr. Fitzgerald said surgery would not help me and that I should consider seeing a neurologist for my nose pain. Instead, I went to Dr. Ha in Poway. He showed me on my CT scan that a bone spur was causing my pain. He removed it and said it was so large it was digging into the nasal membrane and causing the pain. I had an easy recovery and the pain is completely gone. I recommend Dr. Ha. read more

I always judge others by the way they make you feel. This doctor is not a very good person - not warm or caring. He has character flaws that are very evident in his approach to patients. I think he has forgotten about the Hypocratic Oath and taken up the money grubber oath, double and triple stacking patients at his office. People go to a doctor for help, not to be treated in a condescending manner. There are many fantastic surgical ENTs in San Diego. My recommendation is that you find a caring doctor (not Fitzpatrick) to help you through your medical issues. Best of luck. read more

I will never go back to Dr. Fitzgerald again. SO arrogant! I took my son to see him today. We had a 12:30pm appointment. We arrived 20-25min. early to make sure the paperwork for a new patient would be complete prior to his appointment. There were only 2 other patients there the whole hour we were there. One was called back within a few minutes of arriving. By 12:40pm, I'm asking the front desk if my son will be seen soon as he has to get back to school. We got to an exam room at 12:46pm. We saw Dr. Fitzgerald at 12:52pm. His first words to me were, "My staff said you were upset..?" I said, "No. I asked them how much longer it would be." Dr. Fitzgerald answers, "It's 12:50pm." I answered, "It's 12:52pm and our appointment was at 12:30pm." He looked at me like I was crazy & said nothing. Not only no apology, excuse, or remorse from him--but then he looked back at me again with his eyes slowly gazing from my foot/sandals up to my chest! He was blatantly judging me! Or accessing me--whatever you want to call it! Upset? Oh yes--now I'm upset! My son got to witness this too. Never again. Our patient time with Dr. Fitzgerald lasted about 10min. You expect your patients to be on time--be respectful in returning the same courtesy. --And don't ever look a woman from the floor up again like that in a patient setting! What is wrong with you! Have never written a negative review before but am still shocked by this experience. Dr Fitzgerald- an ENT who refused to look in my sons ear nose or throat after we had been referred by our pediatrician to go see him for his symptoms. What!?! Have had horrible sinus congestion for as long as I can remember. Was always afraid to get the septoplasty and turbinate reduction surgery done, but it was time. The worrier that I am, I asked Dr. Fitzgerald to explain all of the minute details of the procedure so I would know exactly what to expect and he did just that - he actually started drawing all of the steps on a piece of paper for me! 1 week post-op and I'm breathing through my nose with zero obstruction - this is my new normal and it's amazing. I can smell everything now too! I saw that someone had mentioned a perceived arrogance in a previous review... don't mistake confidence as arrogance - you want a surgeon with bit of confidence about him. read more

My husband Boris Abramovich was referred to Dr. P. Fitzgerald when there was not hope for cure: he is suffering badly from excessive mucus in his throat.
