She did nothing to help my issues. Constant post nasal drip, congestion, headaches. Administered an allergy test that showed I wasn't allergic to anything (no results) then did blood work that tested for things I am never even exposed to. No results. Waste of my time and money. I have to wait two months to do a follow-up of my C Scan. Paid to visit, paid for any office procedures, paid for lab work, then paid to get the results of my lab work. Paid out the nose over the nose! We have a medical crisis in this country when it comes to getting quality and timely health care. The only plus I give this office is the front staff. I have sharp insurance but they dont take that here. I was going to have my ears cleaned because i didnt like what i saw in my ears. I used an otoscope i bought on amazon, which uses wifi connection to your phone, so u can c everything on camera this way. Trust me, if u have stuff in there then it's most likely really gross to look at. I was going to hang up because they dont take my insurance, but a really nice calming voice (male) from the line said i can just have the ears cleaned for $50. They use a vacuum to clean your ears and not the squirting water technique ( i had this done before and it hurts so bad and not that effective). The day of my appointment, the gentleman who talked to me on the phone remembered me! Amazing! Dr Reuther was super friendly and nice as well. She has a really nice smile, even though she had a mask on! I could still picture it! The process was less than 5 minutes, painless and quick! I like it when its done professionally with the right tool, so no complications can occurr. The place looks modern and clean. Appointment was on time. The place is actually in the same building where you park your car. Find the elevator within the parking agarage and go up. Dont be like me and walk to the outside of the parking garage and get lost. I would return if i need my ears cleaned again. read more

After using his otoscope to look in my ear, I was told by a hearing specialist there was a wax impaction in my right ear. I called San Diego ENT in La Jolla and they quickly fit me in for an appointment. After examining my right ear, Marsha Reuther, M.D., Otolaryngologist, said a black hearing aid dome was stuck in my ear. She removed it, along with a small amount of wax. Dr. Reuther was professional, friendly, and kind. I highly recommend her. read more

I developed hearing problems, went to three Audiologists who tested me, found my hearing is going bad and they all had a similar solution - that I would have to buy a hearing aid ranging in price from $800 to $3000. I have a history of earwax buildup and going to my primary for a lavage didn't help. Tried OTC ear drops too with no success. Came here and Dr. Reuther took all my earwax out easily and pain free. Really recommend for those that have bothersome earwax. read more

I first appeared in dr Marsha's office sometimes end of December with the most horrible sinus infection which took away my senses of smell and taste for at least 2-3 weeks!! I felt disabled, sick and a bit depressed. I was able to schedule an appointment with her promptly the day I needed it! Her staff was so friendly and helpful on the phone. Dr Marsha listened attentively to all my concerns and respected my wishes. I am nursing my 5 month old baby and didn't want any numb medIcine. She also researched all the medications she prescribed to see if it's 100% to take for lactating mothers. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for ENT in the area. read more

Dr Reuther is friendly, but unfortunately she missed the forest for the trees. When I visited for a swollen right side of the throat by the tonsil, her initial feedback was an invalidating one, that the tonsils looked great and there was no problem. I then held up a mirror to show her what I was seeing, at which point she did see it, and thought it was lingual tonsillitis and suggested I take antibiotics though the strep test was negative and there was no sign of pus, and the bloodwork did not indicate bacterial infection. I was hesitant to take antibiotics when there was no evidence of bacterial infection, so when I called back a couple of days later, while the dr's office still indicated I should take antibiotics, the doctor recognized my hesitation on that and ordered a CT scan. I was grateful she did so, but it was only because I took my health into my own hands. If I'd followed her instructions at the outset, I'd be taking antibiotics for no reason. (Please doctors, while I'm happy to take antibiotics for a bacterial infection, trigger-happy unnecessary courses of antibiotics have damaged my gut microbiome and left many other issues). It turns out, once I went to a different doctor that it's a good thing I didn't take antibiotics - it's not a bacterial tonsil issue at all, instead it's a massive (5 cm) ranula that this other doctor was able to recognize even before he ordered an MRI. I'm glad I took my health into my own hands and went to a different doctor, who has been much more insightful. Update: I appreciate Dr Reuther called me as a follow up to the feedback I shared with her staff, and I'm hopeful the feedback will have her look deeper in the first go. read more

I had an amazing experience with Dr Reuther and her team from start to finish! I highly recommend her as an ENT. I had consultations with two other ENTs to discuss a tonsillectomy, and Dr. Reuther stood out as the obvious choice. Her staff at the front desk made scheduling the consultation easy and seamless and they were incredibly friendly. The online check-in process was efficient - no wasted time filling out tons of paperwork in the waiting area. Dr Reuther herself was the one who conducted my consultation, not one of her RNs, which was appreciated and made me feel more comfortable before a major surgery. We were able to schedule my surgery within two weeks, which was amazing. The pre-op and post-op info was thorough and well-explained. I also appreciated that she called me the day after my surgery to check in and was available by email throughout the process, even responding on the 4th of July within 2 hours. (I expected 24 hours with the holiday.) Thank you Dr. Reuther and the entire team at San Diego ENT for making a gnarly surgery into a positive experience. I went to see Dr. Reuther about a build up of fluid behind my eardrum. She assessed the situation, gave me several options and then together, we agreed on a procedure to resolve the issue. The procedure lasted less than half an hour and the results have been extraordinary. She was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient and I have been highly satisfied with the results. I would go again to Dr. Reuther for all my ENT issues and would recommend her to anyone else. Dr. Reuther is seriously phenomenal. I went through a variety of tests and procedures related to some enlarged lymph nodes and then some suspicious thyroid nodules. The ordeal itself was stressful and tense, but I don't know if I have ever been so impressed with a medical professional. Aside from really knowing her stuff (it's immediately obvious how knowledgable she is), Dr. Reuther spent a ton of time with me to address in detail every question my family and I could possibly think of, no matter how granular. If she didn't know something, she took the time to look it up and talk about the nuance with me! It's only too common to feel like you're being rushed out out a doctor's office, and my experiences at this office were the polar opposite. She's also a total sweetheart, in terms of demeanor! Dr. Reuther (and her awesome staff) ALSO bent over backwards to get the logistic ball rolling and to keep it moving. Them staying on top of things and their frequency in communicating decreased the stress of the whole situation. Also, they were amazing about getting me appointments, quickly. I know I'm laying it on thick here, but everyone I dealt with in that office went above and beyond to follow up with imaging centers, get my insurance stuff figured out, and call me back, promptly. This is nowhere near the norm, and it made a massive difference. They were total sweethearts, too. If I could rate more than five stars, I definitely would. read more

I would not recommend going to her. I had ear wax removed. She scratched ear it led to infection,bleeding. I was in pain for weeks at the time . I went to another doctor ENT he told it was definitely infection and ear canal laceration. She didn't follow up at all,even though my parents called her office . I'm so incredibly happy that I was in the hands of Dr. Reuther. For two or more years I had a cyst on my vocal cord. I had checked almost every box on the list when it came to finding out why my voice hadn't been the same. Then I met Dr. Reuther. Once she saw the cyst she knew exactly what it was and what steps I needed to take moving forward. As a group fitness coach and singer, my voice is my living and loosing it for a month or more was very overwhelming. I'm grateful to her for supporting me through what could have been a stressful process. I had absolutely no pain throughout the procedure and recovery and followed exactly what the doc said. I didn't once feel judged with any questions I had on what exactly I could and could not do before and after the surgery. Hands down my favorite doctor I've ever had. After 12 days of excruciating pain, 4 doctors visits (including ER and urgent care), I visited Dr Reuther hoping she'd reassure me my eardrum wouldn't pop from pressure I had been having when I got on a plane. Every other doctor said I had mono or some viral infection, gave me some antibiotics and painkillers that didn't work, advised me to "drink more water", and sent me on my way. As soon as I opened my mouth Dr Reuther's jaw dropped and she sent me to the ER so I could get the appropriate tests I had needed all along, asap. Next thing you know she was at my bedside in the hospital draining an (obvious) abscess in my throat. My relief was immediate and I was back to work, eating, and living my life the next day! Especially after dealing with so many dismissive and not so nice doctors, I can not say enough good things about Dr Reuther and her team at Scripps ER and in the clinic. She put me out of my misery immediately, has incredible bedside manner, walked me through the whole process calmly, got me in and out of the hospital quickly, and has been checking up on me and is readily available if I have any more issues. Dr. Reuther has been by far one of the best doctor finds I have found. Words cannot explain her caring demeanor, ability to listen, evaluate and diagnose conditions others were either unable to do so or didn't want to. In my case, it started with an 88-year-old parent with a GI tube that was inserted due to a complication of pneumonia. After months of Barium Swallow tests and Speech therapy prescribed by another GI doctor, all he was able to come up with after a couple moments of his time was "let's leave well enough alone" and did not want to take un-due risk because of his age. Granted, when you get to your advanced years there are risk, but with those risk (provided the patient is willing to take them) there are rewards. After searching for a second opinion I found Dr. Reuther. After reading her bio that stated "Dr. Reuther developed a passion for helping people with voice and swallowing problems", I knew I had to see her. Passionate she was. She sat down with my father, listened carefully and then assured us that this is what she does and felt there was a good chance he could eat once again and be able to go to his assisted living community (that does not allow GI tubes under article 22 of the government license). After a few tests, she took the liberty to further discuss our case with her mentor to ensure that the procedure would be possible with minimal risk. Well, I happy to report, he is currently living comfortably at his assisted living community, having a glass of wine at dinner and enjoying the rest of his life fulfilled by eating whatever he desires (no feeding tube). Life is good... Even if it requires a second procedure, my father feels more than comfortable and trusting when it comes to Dr. Reuther's skill set and bedside manner Well... Months later, I myself was in need of a "swallow" specialist. After years of being misdiagnosed by three primary care physicians with an "allergy", I decided to go to an allergist finally to see what I was allergic to. As fate would have it, everything came back negative. So, it was a no brainer to go see Dr. Reuther for myself to see if she had any input. She ordered one test and within a week, she had a diagnosis that was spot on. After reading up on this condition, if left untreated, then there is a good possibility of the development of cancer. So, in some way I owe this doctor much more than a great review. As previously noted, words cannot explain what this doctor has meant to our family. Although these are my personal stories, I have and will recommend her to anyone in need of Otolaryngology (ENT). read more
