Justin broke down putting into three key tips on putting and as a high handicapper it made putting simple and more reactive and less thinking. Justin's Chipping tips and practice were creative and something to use on my next round. Pitching tips and practice were extremely helpful and excited to use at Stadium's Golf Short Course. Justin gave very clear steps to get out of the sand and I even rolled a ball into the hole. Thank God one of the other golfers saw it. I on purpose did not divulge Justin's tips and instruction because if you want to improve you need to take Justin's Short Game Clinic. Three things about Dalton…read more 1. He knows his stuff. I'm pretty new golfer with natural skills. This dude made two quick tweaks and has me looking like I've played for years. His people skills are on point and a lesson flies by while Being both productive and fun. 3. He's a good dude. I texted him sick, and he'd not one of those trainers trying to make a buck.

The slowpitch cages seem to draw everyone from first timers having fun to local league players getting in practice swings. The pitching machines are accurate most of the time, but you'll occasionally have to adjust to a wild pitch. It can also get frustrating when a cage is down or the balls get stuck, since there usually isn't an employee stationed at the cages. When it's busy, people generally take turns. I do like the shaded picnic benches, grassy area, and nearby pro shop. You can get a reloadable card there, then swipe it at the cage and press the button to start. This weekend, my boyfriend and I also got a bucket of 250 golf balls. I hadn't swung a club in years, and I had back surgery a few months ago, so I was extremely rusty. To the gentleman I accidentally drilled with a golf ball. I am sooooo sorry!! I'll be sticking to the lanes with dividers from now on! The golf range has a nice shaded upper level with TVs, a shaded lower level, and an open area. Everyone I've interacted with has been friendly and helpful.

The best way to describe his teaching method is: 1. let's see what you got 2. now try it this way 3. okay, good. but, now add this movement. 4. nicely done, now add this movement. 5. holy crap, excellent, now do this. 6. WOHOOOO! I don't know if that makes sense. But, what I mean is that he will incrementally improve your swing by showing you the TECHNIQUE, not just showing you how to do it and how others do it. Everything is personalized and very detailed. Paul goes over everything: how you stand, the language, the grip, your back, your knees, your arms, your "cool swing" look, distance, and accuracy. After only 2 lessons, I was already hitting the range by myself and actually hitting them pretty decent! On top of it all, Paul is FUNNY and knowledgeable. He is great all the way around! He is 100% the best coach around!

If you are serious about becoming a better golfer, then you should consider working with PGA…read moreProfessional, Jesus "Chuy" Ojeda. In my case, I had a fairly low handicap (3.4) and was preparing to play for a SCGA tournament. On my own, I was unable to figure out how to become a scratch golfer. I had come to accept that without expert instruction, I would not acquire the skills & understanding required to achieve my golf goals. Chuy is committed to making his students well-rounded players. Most local PGA professionals are restricted to teaching "mat lessons" (swing only) and charge extra for "playing lessons" out on the course. The facilities at Chula Vista Muni allow Chuy to readily teach you whatever area of the game you want to work on...full swing, chipping, pitching, sand shots, putting, course strategy, analyzing lies, and mental focus. In other words, Chuy can teach you ALL of the essential skills necessary to become a COMPLETE golfer (not just someone with a good swing!) I have been playing golf for nearly 20 years and I can honestly say that I walk away from each lesson very inspired to practice and improve. Chuy is one of those rare golfers who is a skilled instructor AND still competes in professional tournaments (he is one of the SDs top-ranked playing pros). He has a special ability to convey complex concepts with simple words and helpful drills. Perhaps most importantly, he has taught me to understand & correct the mechanical and mental patterns that cause me to hit inconsistent shots. This has made me much better at making quick corrections mid-round. Lastly, I would encourage you to compare Chuy's rates to other local instructors. Then you'll really understand what a good value his lessons are. I made the decision to start taking lessons with Chuy about 4 months ago and my handicap has dropped down to 1.6. I have every reason to believe that my handicap will continue to drop. Thanks to Chuy, I am a more competent and confident golfer. This makes this illusive game a lot more fun and way less frustrating.

He's able to get extremely technical about the golf swing or he can break it down in simple terms. The ability to flex his teaching style is very instrumental in his success as an instructor. After working with him for few months, i entered my first tournament. I won by shooting an Even par 72. He produces results!!!

The course itself is a bit short and quirky, with several hills. If a ball slices or hooks too far, it often ends up on bare dirt. The ranger (or player assistant) was not particularly helpful, especially since the pace of play was somewhat slow throughout the day. One major caveat is that the golf carts are quite old. One cart bumped into ours due to an apparent brake malfunction. Fortunately, no one was injured.

The next day I went out on the course and hit my 7-iron consistently 10% further than I did 25 years ago. All of my clubs hit 20-25% further the next day on the course.
