We didn't really think we were gonna have such a wonderful meal at this modest, homey, family run restaurant. What started out as a late lunch while discovering the hillside town of Peccioli. We had ducked in to pick a few pastries from the shining cold-case, and saw that there we tables open, so we said..."Wanna...?" We were so impressed with the food, the savory waffle, the steak tartar, the cheesecake and pastries. The atmosphere and loving family service made us feel like we were locals who had stopped into our regular place. We finished with a rich cup of coffee and Ferretti's famous Biscotti. Those biscotti are sooooo delicious that we had to buy a couple of containers of them for the road.... they traveled with us throughout Italy and we hoarded them for morning coffee each day. Our waiters were the sons of the owners, and they were so charming. They shared with us some of their own travels, especially in the U.S. (our home). Our advice; roam the farmers' market in the town square and, right there, stop into Pasticceria Ferretti. They even have a nice sidewalk seating area in that pedestrian only area. P.S. The town has a great parking garage with a famous modern-art foot bridge.... memorable, photogenic! read more

We live in Tuscany 4-5 months of the year and this is our go to restaurant for fresh, creative and really good Italian food. Its family run, very friendly and they always make you feel welcome. The menu varies depending on seasonal produce and their pastries are to die for. Highly recommend a visit but be sure to make a booking as it gets very busy particularly during the summer months. read more

the menu has some unique offerings, such as stones from the river, which is literally 3 hot stones topped with steak tartar, a pastry filled with Gorgonzola and another filled with sausage. We ate there everyday for 2 weeks during an artist residency and every meal was a delight. The family runs the business and is there all day. Be sure to try Nicolo's amazing gelato! Hands down one of best restaurants in Tuscany and our most favorite restaurant in all of Italy. A 3rd generation family owned establishment specializing in pastries, cookies, house made gelato, the most fabulous fusion Italian dishes not to be missed.... from the amazing pesto risotto, fried not fried to the delicious bacalhau (cod) everything was divine. The presentation of the dishes were aesthetically pleasing and impressively tasty. Mamma Ferretti, Chef, Nicola and Tommaso treated us as if we were family the first night we dine with them - they were so warm, welcoming, engaging and fun we kept going back! Loved the food and family so much we returned twice more before heading back home to California. Parking a van is not easy at the top of the hill in Peccioli and wondering what to do, Mamma Ferretti was so sweet she actually escorted our van down to the public parking lot and gave my husband a ride back up the hill in her golf cart back to the restaurant despite having a full restaurant to attend to! She even took the time while driving him back up the hill to take the back street in order to show him the most magnificent panoramic view of Tuscany Tuscan hospitality at it's best! read more

Our favorite meal while on vacation in all of Italy. You won't find a more authentic Italian restaurant with the charm and warmth of a 100 year old family owned and run restaurant. Lorella one of the owners, was terrific. The pasta dish I had was flavorful and perfectly cooked. We didn't try the desserts because we had no room left after the amazing dinner, but they looked incredible! Their pastries and gelato are well known in the area for sure. Be sure to spend some time walking around Peccioli while you're there, it's such a cute hilltop town with amazing views of Tuscany and narrow streets. Make sure you park in the public parking garage at the entrance of the town (the locals don't like it if you drive up through the town). read more

If you are in Tuscany this restaurant is a MUST. It's family run by the most incredibly loving and friendly people from mom and dad to sons, Tommaso and Nicolo. We only had 10 days, 2 were spent staying in Cinque Terre, but we could've stayed so much longer. We ate dinner here 3 times and dropped by during the morning for their delicious pastries. The night before we left to return home we had to have one more meal with the Ferretti's to bid our sad goodbye. We even carried their pastries home to our families. The dinners were incredible. We loved everything from their appetizers to their main dishes to their delicious desserts. Nicolo specializes in some gelato flavors you'll never have a chance to taste anywhere else in the world. They are a must with every meal. Save room for dessert! Be sure to make a reservation for either their inside or outside dining. read more

After driving up unfamiliar winding hilly roads with sharp turns from our hotel in a rental car, we almost got stuck in the very narrow alley leading to the restaurant in the dark, quiet, practically deserted town on this Tuesday evening. We found the hard way that apparently the only way to reach it was to park in the public lot a short distance downhill and hike up. Notwithstanding the scary experience, we were glad we made it to this charming little restaurant safely for early dinner, however. The interior with 7-8 tables was cheerful, and tastefully decorated. We appreciated the artful, eye-pleasing and meticulous presentation of the dishes, and the privacy of our table. The hostess was attentive and gracious. We were impressed by the cleverly plated vegetables that playfully resembled colorful "sushi's" and a refreshing iceberg lettuce salad served in elegant chinaware. The bolognese pasta was well-seasoned and tasty; the cod was moist and delicious; and the sliced beef was tender. We loved the Rose from a neighborhood vineyard. The sweet desserts rounded out an enjoyable meal. We got to admire the lit tall church tower in the town square nearby before heading back. read more

Would like to give 10 stars!! Dinner was so amazing!! We ordered the Pork loin stuffed with spinach, bacon, shrimp and the mushroom risotto. My guy said surprise me for dessert and the wife brought out something that he loved too. Everything was SO GOOD!! We rented a motorbike and it wouldn't run after dinner but the restaurant owners son Tomazo saw us and ran us back to the hilton!! Btw, I let them pick the wine, so good and I think the whole meal was under 50€. read more

We love this restaurant!!! We stay in Selvatelle and drive to the public parking lot at the lower part of the hill and take the elevator to the top ( level 6 ) and go to the left to all of the eye photos on the wall, then to right to the town's square. The restaurant is to the left. The husband is the chef and has inventive ways of making vegetable lasagna and very tasteful different salads!!! You will not be disappointed. Their wine is great also. The wife oversees the small restaurant and their son works their too. All are very friendly and very pleasant. Highly recommend this restaurant. read more

A cozy restaurant near the town square of Peccioli. We appreciated the unique take on local foods created by the owner. Dinner was great but the real star was the pastries and desserts. The chef was practicing her Christmas panettone the night we were there (in Sept).....the restaurant smelled amazing as a result and she let us try her dessert. Incredible! So good that we visited the restaurant a couple of days later for cafe and pastries for breakfast. Highly recommend this spot. We can't wait to come back! read more

We enjoyed a glorious meal at Pasticceria Ferretti on Christmas Eve, along with many locals. We were graciously welcomed by the young son of the family-owners. We especially loved the steak tartare (can't recall the Italian name for it) served on steaming hot rocks. Very dramatic! The pasta was delicious, housemade of course, and the vitello was perfectly done. The panettone was so good, we tried to buy one to take home for Christmas day, but the owners clearly had them all spoken for! Wonderful place. read more
