You want great pastries made fresh every day? The Burque Bakehouse is the place to go…read more It's hard to avoid a line here, but it's well worth the wait. Any time of the year. They do walk-up service only. You order at the window. I love how casual this place is on the outside. But inside, it's all business when you peek in while you wait for someone to take your order. Their open-air display case is a fantasy to behold. With its beautifully arranged with enticing treats. You'll have a hard time deciding. I've tried several of their pastries and enjoyed each one. Sweet favorites are any of the toasts. My most recent one was their seasonal Peach Raspberry Toast. Of their savory options, the Elote Croissant Cup is fun and worth trying. You can't go wrong with anything you order. Go for your favorite flavors or try something completely new. Try to get there early. They tend to run out.

Given that all the locals also recommended it I had high expectations. I tried the two cookies and sadly they looked like they were going to be soft cookies but they were pretty hard. I think the flavor was alright (one of them reminded me of a Mrs. Fields cookie...) but they were so dry and hard. I then tried the muffin and the inside filling tasted good but the outside (which I think had layers like a croissant) tasted burnt and somewhat dry as well. Overall, given the high price and the experience I had I honestly can't really recommend this place. I feel like it's more hype then actually good.

I was greeted…read moreimmediately by multiple employees, and the guy at the counter was incredibly friendly and personable. He even joked that they were "out of everything," which got a laugh and set a fun, relaxed tone. The music was rocking when I walked in, which I loved, although it eventually switched to something a little more mellow. Still, the overall atmosphere was inviting and made me want to stick around. I ordered an Iced Americano, and it was solid. You can tell they use quality espresso, but I personally would have liked it just a bit stronger. Next time, I'll probably ask for an extra shot to make it perfect for my taste. The real standout was the cinnamon roll. It had the ideal texture with a gooey, cinnamon-filled center, and they certainly didn't skimp on the cream cheese frosting. There was enough frosting to induce a sugar overdose, in a good way. The shop itself was clean, comfortable, and designed to make you want to stay awhile. They have a huge selection of board games and LEGO sets, so you could easily spend a couple of hours hanging out with friends or family. I also asked about the stage and learned they host karaoke and open mic nights a couple of evenings each week, which adds another fun reason to come back. Between the genuinely friendly staff, quality coffee, incredible cinnamon roll, and welcoming atmosphere, this is a place I'll definitely be visiting again.

It's a nice space where you can relax, get resources. They have great coffee options as well as pastries. If you want to sit and play games, you can do that here too.
