I stopped by the panadería and asked if they could make cupcakes that looked like conchas. I showed the girl who was working a picture of what I wanted. She explained. She needed to call the baker to see if she could replicate the cupcakes I wanted. She spoke to the baker who she had sent the picture I took in and was told she could make them exactly as they were. She stated she would charge me $1.00 per cupcake and I needed 3 dz. I put down a deposit and was told my order would be ready anytime after 12:00 noon on 8/7. My wife stopped by that afternoon to pick up the order and soon sent me a picture of what was made. We live right around the corner and she came and told me you need to go look at those cupcakes. On the way over my wife told me the lady brought them out on a cookie sheet and asked my wife if she brought a bowl to put them in. I thought "seriously!" As I go to the store the lady had the cupcakes on the counter and told me she did not have a box for them even though she had plenty of boxes on the shelf behind her. I told her I was not very impressed with how they looked. It appeared as if they had been tossed around and all the topping had fallen off. I then showed her a picture and my receipt showing what I was told they would be made to look like. I told the lady that I did not feel comfortable paying $40 for these cupcakes and would only take them if she gave them to me for what I had already put as my deposit or I wanted a refund. She told me she could not do either. She then called the owner and explained the situation and the owner refused to talk to me. The lady at the register explained that the owner said they were not a professional bakery that could duplicate the image that I showed which they had already agreed was something they could do for me. Needless to say, I walked out of the bakery with no cupcakes for the Birthday party and no refund of what I paid. I was ripped off completely! Beware! These people are crooks! The picture with the yellow, chocolate, red white and green is what I took to the shop. The other picture is what they baked.
