Skirt Steak with creamy pesto sauce.

From cocktails to desserts Pasta Y Pueblo hits every single taste bud. Eclectic ambience with friendly and knowledgeable staff and attentive service. Reservations highly recommended. Enjoyed the skirt steak with creamy pesto sauce on penne and seared scallops in butter garlic sauce. Chocolate layered dessert (wow)! Great dining experience from beginning to end. Don't miss Pasta Y Pueblo while in Luquillo.

    Eggplant appetizer

Oh wow! We were looking for something outside of Puerto Rican food and found this place. I love that you don't actually get a menu, rather, they come out and they tell you exactly what they're serving for that day. They are also great with making recommendation if it's your first time there. Make a reservation if you can't because it gets packed pretty quickly and the restaurant seating is very small. We will definitely be back.

    Scallops with white wine reduction.
    Elise M.

When I say this was the best meal I have ever had anywhere, that is saying something. I had the scallops in a white wine reduction over pasta which was the best thing I have ever eaten. My husband really enjoyed his salmon and coconut rice. I had a margarita on the rocks with tajin and he had a mango (they make their own fresh juice) rum drink. We were both very pleased with our drink selections. They also gave us an appetizer of 2 thinly sliced eggplant sautéed with Parmesan sprinkled on it. I am not an eggplant lover until now. I would have eaten a whole plate of that delectable dish. They also brought out a few pieces of bread with an oil and Parmesan sprinkled on it, again I would have taken a plate of that as well. The only thing shocking about this place is, there is not a line wrapped around Luquillo to eat here. I guarantee once everyone tries it, it will be the absolute place to go. Our server, was an absolute delight and very attentive. The chef came out as well to make sure everything was ok. It was better than ok! He is brilliant! If you are thinking about going I promise you will not be disappointed.

Garlic butter lobster and pesto pasta
    Kimberly N.

I enjoyed sitting on the outside patio people watching. I was seated immediately and ordered the garlic butter lobster with pesto pasta. The lobster was soooo tender. The waitress was very attentive, but not intrusive. I was given an appetizer of eggplant, pumpkin, and toast on the house. It was great. Highly recommend supporting this local business!

A HIDDEN JEM! A Family Business--dad is owner and chef, son & daughter are waiters, all amazing people. Small intimate restaurant with fewer than 10 tables. Nice seascape mural along the wall. I will say RESERVATIONS ARE RECOMMEND! This is not an in & out place... it's a relax, sit, talk and enjoy your time. It's a small kitchen with experienced chefs making meals with love. And sometimes it takes time, but that's why there's a bar! To start all the appetizers are amazing. For main dishes there are a variety of pasta dishes with choices of steaks, seafood or chicken--ALL AMAZING. Favorite has to be the creamy pesto. Or you can do your protein with the coconut rice instead of pasta. And a small selection of lovely locally made deserts to end the night off right. Every time I eat I'm in heaven and every time I leave I can't wait to come back!!! So happy it's finally back in action after taking years to rebuild at a new location due to Hurricane Maria's destruction. This place is a must!!

Yelp map is wrong. Red pin is the actual location.

Rather disappointing. The house salad, while reasonably well-appointed with mushrooms, tomato,…read moreand onion, had a hint of the taste of rotten lettuce - while I didn't find any, maybe it sat next to some or was selected out of a batch of partially spoiled lettuce. Also, the mushrooms appeared to be from a can, not fresh. Perhaps I am wrong on that point, but that's how it looked. I don't know what kind of fish was used for the Carribean ceviche but it was very tough, very chewy, and sliced rather than diced. I've never had chewy fish before, and I didn't like it. They will not serve tap water, even though it is generally considered safe to drink here. If they want to be over-protective in this way, they should offer filtered tap water without charge. As others reported, service was rather slow - when we arrived there was only one other occupied table, and it took about 20m to receive two of our three ordered dishes, which were all salad or appetizer. Apparently the waiter forgot about the third, and I was actually hoping that she had, but she brought it about 15 minutes after the first two, with apologies. After presenting the check, I provided my credit card, and was asked how much I wanted to tip. That's odd. I told her (and tipped generously, because wait staff deserve a decent income). She went away and later returned with my card, without receipt. I asked for a receipt (of course I want to know the amount actually charged!) . She was unable to print a receipt at that point, so she printed out a register report and showed me the amount there. Really odd. The entrees are quite pricy $20 up near $50.

The food and drinks were disappointing, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you're nearby and just really need something to eat, though maybe pick something other than the pizza. Food & Drinks: We ordered a frozen piña colada, garlic knots, and a medium pizza (San Gennaro). Here's my review of each: Pina colada - Would not recommend. Unfortunately it was not very well blended (lots of thicker chunks of ice like a shaved ice) and had very little flavor (literally just a kiss of pineapple and coconut flavor). It was like drinking a La Croix, which I do enjoy, but not what I wanted. Garlic knots - These were just okay. The outside was pretty hard and it was missing a little salt to really bring out the flavor. San Gennaro pizza - This was such a letdown, and I'm not usually disappointed by pizza (I love anything from legit Italian pizza to Costco pizza). First, this wasn't really NY style pizza which they advertised - if that's what you're expecting, go elsewhere. That wasn't the real issue though. It overall lacked flavor and wasn't well executed. The crust did not have much flavor and was pretty hard. The veggies on the pizza were anywhere from cold to lukewarm and didn't seem fresh. Lastly, we had ordered the pizza with pepperoni added, but seems they just didn't write it down in our order. At that point we weren't going to wait another hour for pizza, so we just took what we got without complaint. Size wise, the medium pizza came with 6 slices and was enough for 2 people. Service: Service was really slow, however we were warned before we sat down that orders would take about 45 minutes to come out, which we were fine with. Drinks came out in 10 minutes, garlic knots in 25 minutes, and a medium Pizza in 1 hour. There was also a misunderstanding about who was supposed to take our order, so it took a while to get our order in. We sat around for 20 minutes before deciding to just go up to a server and ask them if they could take our order. They did apologize for the mix-up once they realized what happened. Ambiance: Very laid-back ambiance with loud music and some patio seating. Cats (that I think they own) were also roaming around.
