Its cheaper if u pay cash, and the cashier actually takes ur order but if u are using plastic then u will be directed to the kiosk and enter ur own order but oddly pay a higher price then advertised on the menu. pickup is very confusing cause there is no sign to direct nor is there a worker that cares to direct u. When ur order is ready, they scream the number from the other side of a wall u wont even know exist. One napkin per order and they do not have utensils so don't u dare ask. 9 years later and sadly this place just doesn't hit the same. It is of course completely different than it was when it first opened, but dang. I was soooo excited to go here and got there at opening time. They opened 45 min late. The place is now huge and has a completely different vibe. You have to "order yourself" which was frustrating when most of the stuff they offer wasn't even added to the menu yet. I ordered a shrimp and beef arepa and sadly it was not the same. Why it wasn't served as an arepa (when I ordered off of the arepa menu) but on a bread was so weird to me. I was so confused why it tasted so different and when I had an arepa elsewhere the light bulb went off. Seasoning wasn't there either. Was it because I was the first customer to rush in? Idk. The guy seemed annoyed when I walked in to order. They no longer had all of the sauces they had before too and idk if it's because they've expanded and have money now, but the service just wasn't the same. So sad I've literally been referring this place for years and I wouldn't go back anymore :( read more

I am so grateful I found this place. On Yelp and google, nothing was very clear. They are open Thursday-Sunday. There is a ton of parking and it's part of a huge strip full or restaurants and kiosks. I kept talking about an arepa, to the point my husband had no choice but to take but or else I would never stop talking about it. This place was SOOO GOOD. My husband and I still talk about it, unfortunately, we only got to try it once and it was closed for the remainder of our trip. I got the steak and shrimp arepa and my husband got the steak arepa. It was juicy and the mofongo on the bottom was delicious with the flavors of the meat juice. They had different salsas sitting out on the table to try, I would put but green and orange salsas before I took a nice bite. If you are in the area, I highly recommend you try this place. this is probably the best food experience i had when i was in puerto rico/luquillo. precovid, march 2018 outdoor review like the previous yelper stated, the owner and service were so genuine and sweet and kind and patient!!! and i believe the food came out pretty quickly as well. i remember loving this with my companion. the tacos were flavorful and the SWEET SPICY SAUCE ON THE NACHOS HIT. There's rice, cheese and the protein. We asked for no cilantro but still ended up with mucho. Wish the lady cashier can relate the message better to the chef. I downloaded the yelp app just so I can leave a review of this place. My girlfriend and I walked by and I noticed the interior looked attractive so I decided to stop in and look at the menu. Immediately the steak N Shrimp arepa caught my eye, so I got it along with a passion fruit frozen lemonade. (Wasn't frozen but extremely delicious). The arepa was perfectly seasoned, perfect portion sizes, and the mashed plantains on the bottom, were the perfect cherry on top. The passion fruit lemonade was extremely refreshing and I didn't know til now that passion fruit and lemonade went together. 11/10, already planning a visit again just to have another meal there. read more

Small portions for the price in my opinion, but great taste. We got the chicken and pork arepas--thought the pork was a lot better. We came to Luquillo Kiosks after a full-day hike in the rainforest as recommended by our tour guide and these, paired with a beer from next door, on a hot 90+ degree weather day, was amazing. There was a long wait for our order but this was one of the busier kiosks in the area. After a long day journeying El Yunque, my boyfriend and I were HUNGRY. We walked up and down Los Kioskos until we were stopped by the owner of Wepa Arepa who convinced us to give it a try. Wepa Arepa is actually a food truck/trailer, which is unique to the rest of the kiosks. It reminded me of my beloved food trucks back home in Miami. I'm not really into arepas but we decided to give it a try because eh, why not. And man - those arepas BLEW OUR MINDS. We originally ordered two steak arepas. They were made fresh to order and within a few minutes, they were ready for us. The owner suggested we try one of the sauces, so we added that to it. It was LOVE AT FIRST BITE. We immediately asked him to make us another order. Wow, these arepas are packed with flavor! Added with that little spicy sauce, and wow, just amazing. Perfect taste and texture. Truly amazing. The owner was super nice and made us feel like family. We tried a few other things from other kiosks but nothing came close to the level of amazingness from Wepa Arepa. I tried to convince him to bring a truck to Miami - but for now, I'll have to wait until my next visit/work assignment in Puerto Rico. read more
