Nothing worse than having one of the employees give us the evil eye before going in. Kept walking.

Given more days in Luqillo, I would return every day to try all their food…read more I started with the arepas de coco - very well fried, soft, doughy puffs complemented with a guava sauce. They were addictive, it was hard to not eat all of them. They would also be a good dessert - reminiscent of beignets, but with less oil and sugar. For main I had the churrasco skirt steak with rice of the day. It was a generous portion of steak topped with a delicious churrasco fragrant with garlic. The rice was well seasoned and perfectly cooked texture. Server was enthusiastic about the food and providing suggestions. Though I suspect everything on the menu is delicious. Guests at all the tables around me raved about their meals. Indoor seating is cozy and comfortable. There's a small bar with counter seating.

It wasn't too busy, so we were able to chat with our server about local places to check out. We ordered the Can-Can pork with the rice and beans. Soooo good! Also, my drink was beautiful and tasty! Definitely stop in and see them if you're ever on the island!

I reserve my 5 stars for Michelin level restaurants, but I'll have to give it to this place. I…read moredescribe this place as Italian with an island flair, so if you are going to be a classic Italian snob, go elsewhere. Every protein, besides being sourced as well as can be for the price point, is treated with a daft touch. Steaks, lamb, and seafood are all done perfectly to bring out their best. It speaks volumes to how well all the different meats are prepared consistently. Alfredo is on point, and so is the carbonera. Coconut rice is perfectly balanced to give that refreshing island feel. Service is extraordinary. Lots of care and attention, but with much faster pace and efficiency than other restaurants that I have been to in PR. Little touches like their version of garlic bread and eggplant for complimentary appetizer, and tap water service are all appreciated by the group. Food is all very moderately priced and particularly of great value given the quality and execution. Very quaint roadside restaurant with tables outside. I wouldn't say it was classy, or anything fancy, but the food and the service more than made up for that shortcoming. The chef even came to check up on us, and the personal love and care are all apparent throughout the restaurant. Disclaimer: at the time of this writing, the location in Yelp for this place is absolutely wrong. It is just a block down from coffee therapy, and you can find the directions on Google by searching for the restaurant. The address on Google is 50 CII, Cll Fernández Garcia, Luquillo, 00773.

Everything is excellent! Case closed! Service, ambiance simply wonderful…read moreReady to rep

Rather disappointing. The house salad, while reasonably well-appointed with mushrooms, tomato,…read moreand onion, had a hint of the taste of rotten lettuce - while I didn't find any, maybe it sat next to some or was selected out of a batch of partially spoiled lettuce. Also, the mushrooms appeared to be from a can, not fresh. Perhaps I am wrong on that point, but that's how it looked. I don't know what kind of fish was used for the Carribean ceviche but it was very tough, very chewy, and sliced rather than diced. I've never had chewy fish before, and I didn't like it. They will not serve tap water, even though it is generally considered safe to drink here. If they want to be over-protective in this way, they should offer filtered tap water without charge. As others reported, service was rather slow - when we arrived there was only one other occupied table, and it took about 20m to receive two of our three ordered dishes, which were all salad or appetizer. Apparently the waiter forgot about the third, and I was actually hoping that she had, but she brought it about 15 minutes after the first two, with apologies. After presenting the check, I provided my credit card, and was asked how much I wanted to tip. That's odd. I told her (and tipped generously, because wait staff deserve a decent income). She went away and later returned with my card, without receipt. I asked for a receipt (of course I want to know the amount actually charged!) . She was unable to print a receipt at that point, so she printed out a register report and showed me the amount there. Really odd. The entrees are quite pricy $20 up near $50.

They even give you a side of the pineapple if you order it that way. Food: We are locals coming from the US and we were born on this food so believe when we say, it's authentic. We came here on a Friday night in January. Wasn't too busy inside, but I know they had a ton of…read moretakeout orders they were trying to fill that slowed down service. The food and drinks were disappointing, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you're nearby and just really need something to eat, though maybe pick something other than the pizza. Food & Drinks: We ordered a frozen piña colada, garlic knots, and a medium pizza (San Gennaro). Here's my review of each: Pina colada - Would not recommend. Unfortunately it was not very well blended (lots of thicker chunks of ice like a shaved ice) and had very little flavor (literally just a kiss of pineapple and coconut flavor). It was like drinking a La Croix, which I do enjoy, but not what I wanted. Garlic knots - These were just okay. The outside was pretty hard and it was missing a little salt to really bring out the flavor. San Gennaro pizza - This was such a letdown, and I'm not usually disappointed by pizza (I love anything from legit Italian pizza to Costco pizza). First, this wasn't really NY style pizza which they advertised - if that's what you're expecting, go elsewhere. That wasn't the real issue though. It overall lacked flavor and wasn't well executed. The crust did not have much flavor and was pretty hard. The veggies on the pizza were anywhere from cold to lukewarm and didn't seem fresh. Lastly, we had ordered the pizza with pepperoni added, but seems they just didn't write it down in our order. At that point we weren't going to wait another hour for pizza, so we just took what we got without complaint. Size wise, the medium pizza came with 6 slices and was enough for 2 people. Service: Service was really slow, however we were warned before we sat down that orders would take about 45 minutes to come out, which we were fine with. Drinks came out in 10 minutes, garlic knots in 25 minutes, and a medium Pizza in 1 hour. There was also a misunderstanding about who was supposed to take our order, so it took a while to get our order in. We sat around for 20 minutes before deciding to just go up to a server and ask them if they could take our order. They did apologize for the mix-up once they realized what happened. Ambiance: Very laid-back ambiance with loud music and some patio seating. Cats (that I think they own) were also roaming around.

We stopped at this stop while visiting the kiosks. We were not disappointed…read more The pizza is freshly made and the slices are big. We had a slice of the Luquillo Beach pizza (so delicious!) and a slice with pepperoni, black olives, and onion. Get a mojito if you stop there!
