For the manager's reception, there was only one server each night which caused a line to form all the way back to the elevators. One patron commented that this was intentionally done. And it was learned that if any inconvenience was done on the hotel's behalf, the staff would supply you with extra drink tickets which you were nit able to successfully use because there was a two drink minimum at a time per person, so many people gave away their extra tickets. At breakfast, the omelette line was just the same as there was only one chef cooking four omelettes at a time. Needless to say, be prepared to wait for these two amenities.

I recently stayed at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Boca Raton and unfortunately, the experience was…read moreextremely disappointing. I arrived Friday evening around 7:30 PM after checking in online and selecting my room in advance. At no point was I notified that my chosen room was unavailable. Upon arrival, I was informed there were "mechanical issues," and the room I selected was no longer an option. While I understand that issues can arise, the lack of communication beforehand was frustrating, especially given the late arrival time. I was initially assigned a room on the second floor, which was completely unacceptable. From the moment I walked in, the condition of the room was shocking. The carpet was heavily stained throughout, the room felt very outdated, and overall cleanliness was far below expectations. The bed skirts were tucked awkwardly, exposing the box springs, the bathroom sink was cracked, and the balcony view was essentially nonexistent, overlooking what appeared to be the top of the entryway. I immediately contacted the front desk to request a different room. While I was reassigned to another room on the fourth floor, the issues persisted. Again, the carpet was visibly stained and unclean, creating an overall unpleasant and unsanitary environment. When I inquired about the condition, I was told the hotel is in the process of renovations and the carpets have not yet been replaced. However, ongoing renovations do not excuse the lack of basic cleanliness. Paying guests should not be placed in rooms with visibly dirty and stained carpets. Additionally, the service lacked professionalism and empathy. The staff member who assisted me was not particularly courteous, and there was little acknowledgment of the inconvenience or effort to make the situation right. The only redeeming aspect of the property is the lobby and restaurant area, which appear to be better maintained. Unfortunately, once you leave that space, the condition of the guest rooms does not match the standard one would expect. Overall, this was a very unsatisfactory experience. I would not recommend this hotel and would strongly encourage management to address both cleanliness and customer service issues, especially during renovations.

I called the front desk to complain and they sent up the housekeeping staff whom were rude when they came to clean the toilet. Then, I woke up at 1 am and found a cockroach on my toothbrush in the bathroom!!! I sent a text message to the guest services that has been texting me regarding our stay and sent pictures. I asked to be switched rooms but they only offered to move us to a worse location room on the first floor with a view of the parking lot. No thanks, I don't want to be closer to the ground where there are MORE cockroaches!! So I just asked that my room be thoroughly cleaned and sprayed for bugs. After going out to dinner tonight, I returned to the room to find MORE cockroaches in the bathroom!! I killed a baby cockroach on the wall and another one next to the shower. I called the front desk to complain again and they just sent someone to spray our room. This is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE at a so called "resort" that I paid more than $500/nt for plus their additional $40/nt resort fee. Ridiculous! I will never stay at an Opal Grand Property again.

However, my personal experience was a mix of hits and misses. Upon arrival, the exterior of the hotel wasn't as appealing as expected. It didn't match the polished look shown in the pictures. While the inside and grounds have nice features, that first impression was a bit disappointing. One major downside was the noise. Construction starts right at 8 AM every morning and is very loud. It honestly sounded like an orca vocalizing, which made it hard to sleep in. Even at night, the noise carries. The pool area may look nice, but the sounds from the pool echo loudly and can be heard throughout the rooms well into the evening. On the positive side, the rooms were clean and comfortable, which was appreciated. Breakfast had a fresh omelette station that was great and definitely one of the highlights of the stay. If noise and exterior appeal aren't deal breakers for you, there are definitely some nice aspects to this hotel, but be aware of the sound issues before booking.

I used up my Bonvoy points and decided to take a break from the Marriott brand and try something different. I went to Yelp and found this highly rated property and quickly called the hotel to see if they had any availability. The desk clerk offered me a great nightly rate as I qualified for the Florida Resident discount. I booked a king size room for four nights. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed my stay here. The hotel offers free parking, free internet, a "better than most" continental breakfast and during the week they put out freshly baked cookies in the afternoon. Upon check-in I was warmly greeted and offered two bottles of water. Had a quick chat with the front desk guy who happened to be the same guy I spoke to on the phone. He was awesome, in fact every employee I encountered during my staycation was great. My room was immaculate. The mattress was perfect, the linens were nicely made, and I slept well all four nights. The bed was beyond comfortable. They don't have a business center but the front desk people were kind enough to print out some emails for me, make copies and they allowed me to borrow their stapler and a few other office supplies. Because they helped me I was able to actually get some work done. In the morning I drove across the street to DD to get iced coffee then headed back to the hotel to shower. Talking about showers, the water pressure was strong. Very happy with the bathroom and shower. The toiletries were Neutrogena and I liked them a lot. There are several restaurants near the hotel but having every meal out can get expensive. I went to Doris's Market which is just on the other side of Yamato Road and bought some prepared food to keep in the refrigerator in my room. I kept things affordable but still good. I was able to get paper plates and utensils from the breakfast area so I was all set. I went down to the pool in the early evenings to unwind. I had my tablet so I was able to do some reading which was nice. It was quiet and peaceful which made me so very happy. The property is pet friendly with a non-refundable pet deposit which was reasonable. Parking was easy and I found availability in front of the hotel all four nights. The vibe here is warm and inviting and that's because the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. I enjoyed my stay so much that I was actually sad when it was time to check-out. I will be going back because it's the perfect staycation for me. Hampton Inn really surprised me and in a good way. I had a Hilton Honors account from years ago and I updated my information online. Two days after checking out I received a promotional email from Hilton. They were running a special that if you stayed a minimum of three nights you earned a certain amount of points. I called them and told the representative that I checked out two days ago after my four night stay. I wanted to see if I qualified for the bonus points and they said "not technically" but they gave me the points anyway. Very impressed with the level of customer service I received; both in the hotel and with their customer service department. I can't wait to come back for another staycation.

I asked the front desk about gym access and was told there was no on-site gym, despite the listing suggesting otherwise, and was directed across the street to a corporate office parking lot where, I was told, hotel guests routinely exercise. Acting on that guidance, I did exactly that. Within 30 minutes, a man approached me, a Black woman, alone, at 7:30am, and began recording me on his phone before saying a single word to me. He confronted me, demanded I leave, and when I didn't escalate, he sprinted across the street into this hotel's lobby to report me, loudly and repeatedly referring to me as "the black woman." On his way out, as I was coming in, he called me a fucking bitch. Your staff directed me into that situation. Your General Manager, Enrique, was contacted multiple times by my husband and responded with "we told the guy to leave" and, when asked to personally address the situation with the neighboring property, said "sir, you're asking us to do a lot." He never called my room. He never sent anyone to speak with me. He offered no apology and no accountability of any kind. The only person at this property who behaved with any decency was the front desk agent, Katrina, who apologized sincerely and acknowledged what had happened. I am a recovering surgical patient. I came here for rest. I spent that morning sobbing, shaken, and on the phone with my therapist. That is what "go across the street" cost me. If you have no on-site gym, remove it from your amenities. If you have a Lifetime Fitness partnership, direct guests there and only there. Do not send guests, especially women, alone, early in the morning, into spaces you cannot vet, and then tell their husbands you've been asked to do too much when it goes wrong. I have filed a formal complaint with hotel ownership and am escalating to Hilton corporate. I am also preserving my right to file with the Florida Commission on Human Relations. I'm sharing this publicly because the next woman who asks about the gym deserves to know.

The air quality is so poor in certain hallways that your eyes literally burn while walking to your room. There are visible signs of moisture damage and what appears to be mold. Breathing inside this property feels unhealthy. The elevators break down repeatedly and feel unsafe when they are operating. During our stay, they were unreliable and clearly not properly maintained. Fire alarms went off. Hallways were loud, chaotic, and uncontrolled. Cleanliness is a major issue. The rooms are small, worn down, and poorly maintained. This isn't "dated." It's neglected. The entire property feels like it has been allowed to deteriorate without oversight. Management was dismissive when concerns were raised. There was no urgency, no accountability, and no meaningful effort to correct serious issues. We were booked for three nights and left early because staying there felt unsafe and unhealthy. This property does not meet basic standards of cleanliness, maintenance, or safety. If you are traveling to Boca Raton, choose another hotel.

She's an Uber One member (full $120 membership cost credited by Amex). 3. We both earn Delta SkyMiles by riding with Uber.
