Again, it was an enjoyable stay, and I want to also recognize Mr. Alfred, the omelette chef again who has been there for over 30 years, and chef Tommy always checks on guests during the breakfast period and Derek in the afternoon sessions. It honestly sounded like an orca vocalizing, which made it hard to sleep in. Even at night, the noise carries. The pool area may look nice, but the sounds from the pool echo loudly and can be heard throughout the rooms well into the evening. On the positive side, the rooms were clean and comfortable, which was appreciated. Breakfast had a fresh omelette station that was great and definitely one of the highlights of the stay. I asked the front desk about gym access and was told there was no on-site gym, despite the listing suggesting otherwise, and was directed across the street to a corporate office parking lot where, I was told, hotel guests routinely exercise. Acting on that guidance, I did exactly that. Within 30 minutes, a man approached me, a Black woman, alone, at 7:30am, and began recording me on his phone before saying a single word to me. He confronted me, demanded I leave, and when I didn't escalate, he sprinted across the street into this hotel's lobby to report me, loudly and repeatedly referring to me as "the black woman." On his way out, as I was coming in, he called me a fucking bitch. Your staff directed me into that situation. Your General Manager, Enrique, was contacted multiple times by my husband and responded with "we told the guy to leave" and, when asked to personally address the situation with the neighboring property, said "sir, you're asking us to do a lot." He never called my room. He never sent anyone to speak with me. He offered no apology and no accountability of any kind. The only person at this property who behaved with any decency was the front desk agent, Katrina, who apologized sincerely and acknowledged what had happened. I am a recovering surgical patient. I came here for rest. I spent that morning sobbing, shaken, and on the phone with my therapist. That is what "go across the street" cost me. If you have no on-site gym, remove it from your amenities. If you have a Lifetime Fitness partnership, direct guests there and only there. Do not send guests, especially women, alone, early in the morning, into spaces you cannot vet, and then tell their husbands you've been asked to do too much when it goes wrong. I have filed a formal complaint with hotel ownership and am escalating to Hilton corporate. I am also preserving my right to file with the Florida Commission on Human Relations. Instead of trying to contact me, verify the reservation, explain what authorization was needed, or help find a reasonable solution, the front desk staff argued with my wife. Even more concerning, two individuals identified as managers were present during the incident, yet neither stepped in to resolve the problem. My wife was ultimately denied the room and had to find lodging elsewhere after driving nearly 12 hours to take our daughter to college. A simple phone call to me or a reasonable verification process could likely have resolved this in minutes. After nearly 360 nights of loyalty to Marriott, I expected far better judgment, professionalism, and customer service from management. I have formally raised this matter with Marriott corporate leadership and requested a review of what occurred. Very disappointing experience, particularly because management had every opportunity to help resolve the situation and failed to do so.

Eventually, he found me. The ride took 28 minutes, and it cost $33 plus a tip. The driver did make courteous conversation, drive safely, and did not give me a low rating.
