First time at Passo! If I lived in the Greater London area, it would be a regular stop.
My wife and I vacationed in London recently. We had morning appointments in the Shoreditch area and decided to take a bit of lunch before heading back to Central London. My first time in Shoreditch and I was amazed at the number of restaurants and the different cuisine options in the area. Suffering from a bit of analysis paralysis, we made our way back towards the tube station. My wife spotted Passo, and we decided to give it a go. Very happy that we did. Greeted warmly and offered a table on the windows, our server, Maiah (sp?) was quick to engage and attentive throughout the meal. Drinks an appetizers were delicious although the selection was a bit limited. For our mains, we decided to share a couple of small pasta plates. We ordered the Tagliatelle Truffle with Mushrooms in a light cream sauce, and a Rigatoni and Pancetta special that was very flavorful and savory. Both were reasonably priced at £12.5 per.
Without pause, Passo was a fantastic find. I would compare the overall experience to every other meal we enjoyed while in London. That said, we enjoyed local pubs, theatre district Italian tapas, a higher-end steak house, Asian cuisine, and a handful of street food vendors. Each offered a different perspective and came with wildly different expectations.
All in, however, Passo was a shining example and the best overall experience we enjoyed during our time in the City.
Thank you to Maiah, and the staff at Passo! You made our last day in the UK memorable and helped us scratch our epicurean itch.
