Definitely a favorite and glad it's back in the north bay after a short hiatus. Cindy crafts some wonderful wines that rotate every few years, which is quite exciting for club members or casuals. New location is a great spot for those passing through Glen Ellen and is quite spacious. Price point for the wines are perfect compared to quality and the staff has always been very friendly. I'd throw out some favorites, but some of the wines are no longer in production and I tend to love most of the wines produced, so I'll leave it at that. An easy recommendation for me and one you should partake in if you are in the area. read more

Last Thursday, I took my wine tasting group to Passaggio Wines and we had a great time. The members of the group loved the fact that Cindy makes a wide variety of wines, not just the standard Sonoma County Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, her wines range from Sangiovese Bianco (white Sangiovese) to sparking Tannat. She also makes a great Chardonnay in concrete (and I don't like most Sonoma Chardonnays). Cindy was a very gracious host. I strongly recommend you give Passaggio a try! read more

A small shop located in the prettiest strip in Sonoma, we stopped in here while waiting for lunch. We were able to try the difference between Italian and Spanish rosé, as well as pick the knowledgeable server's brain about all things wine. He fascinated us with his stories about his own wine cellar and his passion really shone through. We were able to split a tasting here, and he generously gave us more than our fair share. Absolutely loved this spot for white wine tastings! They had such a nice variety of wines, the staff were really attentive and the little table of charcuterie was a wonderful little bonus. We sat right in the back section and were able to enjoy the live music and open air environment. It is nestled in between these beautiful floral arcs and fountain which had a bit of a European flair. I am far from a wine expert, but I think that with over 4000 Yelp reviews, I know what is a good business and what is not. Passaggio is a very good business. Across the street from the Sonoma Plaza Park and down something referred to as "Wine Alley" you'll find a comfortable and welcoming place to try a handful of tasty wines in peace. Our party of six had no trouble being seated and the gal working the room did a great job of explaining what was in the wine flight, how each wine was made, what tastes we could expect and really helping educate us on this very small hand-crafted wine label. Paced slowly and with great detail, I felt educated. And to top it off, the vintner herself showed up towards the end. Awesome to speak with her, understand her wine journey, where and how these specific wines were made, and where things are headed. So of course, I bought a bottle of Passaggio to take home and share with someone soon. I hope you'll do the same. Personal care and attention? Comfortable opportunity to enjoy a quality product? Second time visiting this winery. First time I came here was a phenomenal experience with Jim. Unfortunately my first time here was his last day there. Today, myself and my other family members were greeted with a much less memorable experience due to our server. Wines are still amazing; especially the GSM. We took my sister to Sonoma as part of her first time whirlwind visit to Northern CA and stopped by Passaggio for a tasting. Winemaker Cindy Cosco was in the tasting room that day and joined us and chatted while we tasted. Being relatively new to the world of wines it was fascinating to hear about her process and the nuances of winemaking. We tasted a Merlot Rosé with the prettiest light blush of pink that she explained was the result of pressing the grapes immediately after harvesting. Less time on the skins kept the color light and bright. The two different Pinot Noir's were a revelation each having been made with grapes from the Santa Lucia Highlands. One was made with grapes from Lone Oak vineyard the other from Hook vineyard. These two wines were made the same way from grapes that were grown in such close proximity to each other yet apparently just far enough apart to result in very different wines. It was quite fascinating to taste them one after the other. One of our favorite tastes was the Trousseau Gris. This wine has a lot going on and gave me visions of enjoying a glass while sitting outside under a pergola in dappled sunlight overlooking the currently very verdant hills of Sonoma County. It's kind of like NorCal in a glass which is why there is now a bottle of it in my cooler. Our other fav was Unmarked Sangiovese. The"Unmarked" label harkens back to Cindy's days in law enforcement - appropriate since this wine is quite captivating! ;) I'll be serving up a bottle of this next weekend with my homemade manicotti. Gotta love living in wine country. read more

Congrats, you found the east Napa street alleyway. Recently the entire alleyway has become almost 100% wine tasting rooms. Are you going to power through all of them? If yes, you'll enjoy the wines here. I like the grenache which is a rarity for me as I often find that grape makes a bitter and acidic wine that I don't enjoy. There are other varietals made as well, your tasting fee will get you samples of all. Nice little room, prettily decorated. Joyous folks serve and inform about the wines. read more

We just had to figure which ones now, which ones on our next visit. Small lots are very often great expressions of the wine maker's skill. 2. Knowledge from gracious people. We've been to 100s of wine facilities over the years -- the team of Heather Heraty (tasting room manager) and Cindy Cosco (Winemaker / Proprietor) will have you happy with no unanswered questions. 3. Comfort. You feel welcomed into a warm, attractive place with comfortable surroundings. 4. Value. Passagio wines are not inexpensive but they are great values. Quality like this is not found in most venues, especially at their price points. So that's four out of the five stars. I guess that the fifth star is because we felt welcomed to enjoy delightful expressions of the wine maker's art at reasonable prices... Yes, come here before going to the large, frantic tasting rooms or the very overpriced boutiques. read more

Great company, great wine, bad pourer. Phyllis was rude, short, and seemed annoyed that we had a group of 6 people come in over 1.5 hours before closing. The place was basically empty. She rolled her eyes several times at us and acted as if our group was a big nuisance. A guy also walked in maybe 30 min prior to closing and she was extremely rude to him as well. We came here in January, my cousin and I for a girls trip, and this winery was by far my favorite out of all the ones we went to that weekend. The tasting room was so bright and colorful; decorated so well! The staff was great and super fun, and very smart! My cousin and I got such a kick out of her! If you love fruit forward white wines, then you'll love Passaggio! You get to choose 4 wines (plus a bonus 5th, their passion blend) for $20 and the fee is waived with a $50 purchase. Bottles were $23-$36. My favorites were the Passion Blend and the Trousseau Gris, but I really enjoyed everything that I tried (unoaked chardonnay, pinot grigio & the Roussanne). They also offer a few reds, but my friend and I were specifically tasting whites only. The tasting room itself is small, very clean, bright & lovely. Our hostess was friendly & knowledgeable about the wines. We also enjoyed a merlot truffle while we made our final selections and both went home with some our favorite wines :) So glad that we stumbled upon this tasting room! read more

We drove down from Napa this weekend and enjoyed everything about our time at Passaggio. Molly was incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming. We ended up coming home with several because there were too many delicious ones to leave behind! I've been to Passaggio's tasting room five or six times since it opened, as I am a wine club member. The space is gorgeous for either tasting, having wine by the glass, or for a special event. I've been drinking the wines since around 2010 and they are consistently great, hand-crafted wines. The tasting room staff and winemaker are very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere after having been in too crowded winery tasting rooms. As a white wine drinker (Sonoma ain't the best place for that...), I enjoyed their great selection, especially the Pinot Grigio and Passion 2015 blend. My mother-in-law liked the Zin. Service was friendly and personal. It was a very hot day outside so this was the perfect break on Sonoma Square.
