This is a Hannaford in need of improvement at least with the prepared foods!…read moreThe hot bar items are consistently stale, cold, or dried out. There is no time stamp on one stuff has been put out. I gave it one last try last week and it was 10:30 a.m. and stuff looked like it should be hot and it still was I don't know when it was put out but it wasn't fresh. The bagged chicken tenders are better bet. I wish they would do the Nashville hot again that was the best flavor. These also have time and date stamps on them. For someone like myself who spent many years in the restaurant business and food service I don't understand how they can just leave stuff out and not explain when it was put out. I did reach out to the company a few months ago regarding this issue which they never replied to me about, which is poor customer service, as well as not backing up your procedures with actual food safety! I have never gotten sick from eating it but some of the time has been so bad that it's inedible and that's when I contacted the company. Why put stuff out if you don't give a crap? When I was going to continuing ed in Manchester, the Bedford store, And Goffstown stores we're always well maintained in this regard. As for the rest of the Keene store the seafood counter is always spot on and I've never had problems with their deli, or produce etc. The bakery items they have as most grocery stores do are the quick rise kinds of breads and cakes probably made with hydrogenated oils. That said I don't buy my bread products from the store unless it's just a bun to make a cold cut sandwich. It's honestly still probably one of the better grocery stores in Keene. Market basket though is giving it a run for its money these days though. It's slightly cheaper at least for produce and many other things. Aldi across the street is pretty fantastic in certain ways but doesn't have the selection of products that Hannaford's does Back when people were wearing masks some of the people attending to the checkouts at this were not the most pleasant as well they would make you remove your mask( which I didn't want to wear in the first place) to validate alcohol. I don't understand how society can be this confused about cross-contamination if they are worried about such things, as I have worked in medical environments that doesn't make sense. It's a bananas world and some people just follow orders.

We went directly upstairs and…read moredidn't check out the general store on the first floor, although it looked to have a large assortment of things. I would have liked to check it out, but my teenage sons were ready to leave after visiting the gift shop. The gift shop was clearly marked with an arrow to go up the stairs. There were so many cool things, we circled the shop several times and kept finding new items we didn't see previously. Wind chimes, incense, mugs, toys, clothes, kitchen gadgets, paintings, candles, etc. It really had something for everyone. The cashier was very nice and offered assistance while also allowing us privacy to shop without feeling like we were being watched. My only suggestion would be for more souvenir items specific to VT. There were a few but not many. I was able to find some silly things - a VT tic tac toe board and a small map of VT puzzle. There were bottle openers as well, but that wouldn't have been suitable for the friends we were getting gifts for. My son bought himself a multi-tool pen and little notepad. It was a very cool store and I'm glad we stopped in

This is kinda what you'd expect from a gift/souvenir shop in Vermont. They do offer plenty of items…read morethat have Vermont on it for tourists to wear and show off they have likely visited Vermont. They also had lots of stuffed animals including a giant tiger displayed outside and a moose, which the moose was a cheaper price than I expected for its size. Also as you would expect since it is Vermont they had lots of maple syrup including sizes of bottles that would make Costco sizes seem small. Even as someone currently being a tourist, I enjoy browsing stores like this but typically will skip on buying much. I find you usually run into two different issues, first being poor quality items you buy and second being overpriced and often you get both. The highlight of this place in my opinion that makes it a little more than just a gift shop was the dessert and cheese part. Despite this we still did not buy anything but some of the treats did look very good! Service wise while we did not buy anything did lack any sort of welcome or anything said at all by staff. It does not take much effort to even just say "hello welcome in". If you find yourself in the area going to any of the nearby shops or other things to do you might as well pop in and browse at least.
