My mom and I took a class here with Chris. We were a little weary signing up with the price but the cost goes to charity and it was SO FUN! Chris was such an awesome teacher and really great to talk to. We were able to attempt to make our own pottery as many times as we could in the two hours we were there. I said attempt because it's actually really difficult! I highly recommend taking a class at Paseo, especially with Chris! Such a fun day!

Creations pre-smashing

After watching "The Great Pottery Throwdown" on HBOMax, I thought I just really need to try this! We signed up for the 2 hour Experience on a Saturday morning. It was really a private couples class since no one else came. Christopher was a superb teacher and started with great demo of throwing on the wheel. He made it look so easy, and when I first tried it with the advice he shared, it was! Instead of taking our dried pieces home, we opted to smash them back to a clay ball to be created into something again (which was also therapeutic). Thoroughly enjoyed the time there and will be back. Did I mention 100% of profits are donated to charity??

This is a great place to get your hands in clay - beginner or expert. Nice people and welcoming studio. I'll be back.

I loved the idea that the instructors are all volunteers, so the proceeds from the classes go to a charity.

There were only 3 children signed up for the "Kids Clay workshop", so there was plenty of opportunity for the teacher to provide one-on-one attention to them. There was not much direction or instruction from the teacher on how to prepare the clay or proper painting technique to use on clay. She did demonstrate how to attach items to clay by scraping. For this age, we felt there should have been more instruction on designing of the objects and directions on how to paint the clay, so when fired, the color would be more vibrant. The color of the completed pieces was very washed out, almost if they had been just painted with water color. The teacher said the project would be ready in 7 to 10 days and that we would receive a text when the pieces were ready to pick up. It took 21 days and we were never notified for pick-up. We had to personally check 3 times to see if project had been completed and was ready to pick up. Very disappointed in the service after paying over $80 for the class.

Classes vary and can include crochet, painting, etc. I took my little girls and they just happened to have paint with a Princess where there was Anna and Elsa and they spent so much time engaging with the kids. They have lots of kids classes for all ages like make your own monster. Great staff and if you love to support local this is a great place!
