Love this place! I'm taking a a beginners hand building pottery class. It's a weekly series for 7 weeks, and it's been so fun! Tiff, our instructor, is fantastic. She's super knowledgeable and helpful during our classes, and adapts the class to our projects. The space is quite big, and has a very nice atmosphere. You can bring food/drinks while you're in the studio, and you can even get some snacks/drinks while you're there. Dogs also roam the studio while their owners are working. Paseo donates a ton of money to local charities which is so sweet. They're a non-profit and you can "vote" on where you want the money to go. I'll probably take another class here. So fun! read more

We just wrapped up our first pottery wheel experience at Paseo Pottery with two great teachers, Jordan and Emma Jo. Our clay truly had a mind of its own. Instead of an elegant bowl or vase, we ended up with lopsided blobs. We definitely got our daily dose of laughter and a new appreciation for the real ceramic artists of Santa Fe, New Mexico. My mom and I took a class here with Chris. We were a little weary signing up with the price but the cost goes to charity and it was SO FUN! Chris was such an awesome teacher and really great to talk to. We were able to attempt to make our own pottery as many times as we could in the two hours we were there. It was really a private couples class since no one else came. Christopher was a superb teacher and started with great demo of throwing on the wheel. He made it look so easy, and when I first tried it with the advice he shared, it was! Instead of taking our dried pieces home, we opted to smash them back to a clay ball to be created into something again (which was also therapeutic). I took a pottery class with my family earlier this year. The instructor kept struggling with my name throughout the evening, and kept calling me something else. That would have been fine if he didn't inscribe and fire that same wrong name into both of the pottery pieces I made. I did like how they donate to charities and let you choose which ones you prefer. However it took away from the experience a bit, as it would be nice to have created something with my name on it, not someone else's. read more

Wandered into this lovely shop a month ago when I walked past and happened to see the sign out the front. While I was in there browsing, Angela informed me that they were having a class at 1pm. I had a couple of hours free during my day so I returned and had a fantastic time! It was my first time making pottery and using a wheel and it was a blast. Angela was a fantastic teacher and Adair was a wonderful assistant. There was only 2 other students in the class so it almost felt like a private class. In 2 hours I made two bowls and a kind of dodgy cup, and I'm so happy I was able to attend. As well as being a great experience, they donate their profits to local charities as well as Angela and Adair donating their time so it's a very worth while place to experience some hands on pottery time or to buy some of the beautiful items that they have in store. read more

woohoo!! first timer a week ago- took a class w my daughter and parents- we did both the wheel throwing and the rolling/stamping types of pottery and thought it was amazing how nice and friendly everyone was. The class itself was well worth the money and time, and the way they made the wheel approachable was a revelation for many of us who attended. We absolutely loved our experience here. Angela was our instructor for the 2 hour private pottery class, and under her guidance we were magically able to create a few masterpieces! I loved the idea that the instructors are all volunteers, so the proceeds from the classes go to a charity. Angela mentioned they've been able to donate -+$20,000 over the last couple years... freaking AMAZING! We get to keep the pieces we made, too -- they'll take a few weeks to 'bake' before they ship them to us since we were there visiting. You can also go in to peruse/purchase handmade mugs, plates, bowls, and probably literally anything else you can make with clay. Awesome experience, awesome people, and awesome cause. A wonderful find and pottery concept. A great variety of fine pieces done by great artists at reasonable prices. In addition , it is a welcoming spot to learn a new hobby. Classes are small enough to accommodate instruction and you leave your piece with them to glaze and fire - such fun, so creative. Several classes throughout the month- get on their mailing list. It is unusual to find this much going on for the sake of charity and it is a fabulous concept to consider in this city. I really enjoyed Lauren's class. A natural I am not, and Lauren was creative in helping me figure out what worked best. My first two attempts (left handed) were a fail. Turns out I don't use my dominant side to make pottery. Once we switched to right handed I was able to make a piece I'm anxious to receive and display. I've always wanted to try pottery and am so glad for the opportunity. The neat thing about Paseo is it's volunteer run and local charities benefit from proceeds. I think that's cool! My husband and I had a class with Lauren and had a wonderful time! Even with no experience, we were able to create 1-2 items we were interested in having glazed and sent to us. Lauren was patient and helpful throughout. She stayed a little later to make sure we were able to finish our projects. I just did a Mud and Suds class with Angela last night and let me tell you, we had such a great time! Angela is a great teacher and clear communicator. Starting with a demo on how to make a cup, she helped all of the students work through the learning process. Such a great experience! My wife and I were looking for things to do since pretty much everything is shut down through the pandemic...which is perfectly understandable. We found this little spot through google and made a quick call and booked our private lesson. We were greeted warmly and cheerfully by Chris...who I think is one of the most positive and patient people I've ever met. He made the experience for us. We'd never done anything like this before and through his reassurance and guidance (and LOTS of trial and error)...my wife made an awesome bowl and with admittance of defeat and heavily helped by Chris I made a shot glass (lol). Angela...the owner was awesome...she showed us the kiln and told us about the techniques to firing and cooling it. They donate the proceeds of the classes to local charities which is just amazing. We bought a few things from the galleries afterward as well. The process of creating something is pretty difficult...but it was so much fun. If we lived here...we'd be there all the time.
