The space is inclusive and the staff is friendly. It took me two months to realize that this location does NOT call you when your art is ready. You need to come by and pick it up 10+ days AFTER you've completed painting your pottery. Of course, that doesn't go for all pieces since there's so much going on at Kiln It but if you're painting pre-made ceramics -- head back after 10 days to pick up your stuff! read more

I have a feeling this might be my new favorite place. Can't wait to see how my first masterpiece turns out. They have a plethora of unpainted items to select from, including handmade pieces by local artists. Elijah walked my whole group through the glazing process and he's hilarious. Definitely made the experience more fun. I appreciate there isn't a time limit and LOVE that they welcome walk-ins. Similar events require registration and are only open certain days but not this business. It's very convenient. So happy my group decided to stop by here on a whim. The only downside is your fired pieces take up to 10 days. So if you're from out of town, make sure you have someone who can retrieve them in the allotted timeframe. We had a private wheel throwing class with Cosmo who was incredibly detailed in her instruction but also laid back and encouraging us to enjoy ourselves. If I could give this place six stars, I would. My daughter & I had so much fun here. The staff are super friendly & helpful! As soon as you walk in you are warmly greeted. I let the James know we haven't been here before & he explained everything & got us all set up. You only pay for the pottery you pick. Prices range from $7-$65 maybe more but that was the highest price I saw from glancing quickly. They also were playing some great music. We were jamming to daft punk, gorillaz, Pink Floyd... it was great. This is a great place to relax, catch up with a friend, or in my case, spend some quality time with you kiddo. This is a cool place for a kids painting birthday party, but be prepared to pay for it. 5 little girls each picked out smaller objects to paint and it was $188.00! Ouch! The people running the place were nice, but we did most of the prep work for the girls ourselves, as the store workers were more concerned with a big adult painting party at the next table. Basically we were ignored until it was time to pay. Went to pick up the finished pieces and they did not have the little baskets that hung under the ceramic balloons. We need to go back in a few days, when they are supposed to come in. So we cannot give out all the completed work to the other kids until the balloons are complete. Otherwise, there could be hurt feelings. Fingers crossed the baskets come in before the weekend. read more

I have been to the art studio multiple times, and I finally am doing a review. Elijah is the owner and has such a fun-loving attitude with creative dad jokes. I've been wanting to do acrylic pour paintings for a while now. I took my niece today, and it was so fun. We got there right when they opened at 11, they are usually very busy on Saturdays. We picked our canvases and colors, and Elijah taught us how to do the rest. I'm so glad we got their early. People started coming in and filling up his studio. Several people seemed to be regulars. My favorite thing's about this place is that you pay by project. If you need to spend a little longer to make sure you are happy with your art piece, that is okay, no time limit, really. He has so many different projects to pick from and the skills and passion to teach. The employees are all very nice and talented as well. We had an exceptional experience with this company literally just days before shelter-in-place orders were announced, in fact I still remember that afternoon for all of its non-COVIDness: We designed pottery at this studio, then grabbed dinner at the germy Slice And Dice Pizzeria, with a nightcap at Tractor Brewing. Man, remember those days? That's what keeps me going right about now. Aside from its straight up brilliant title, Kiln It bests its ceramic competitor in our metro (who shall not be named because I'm not a name-caller) on one major level: instruction. The owner is simply involved, he cares, he wants you to go home with something worthy of the frankly highish-priced merch you're buying. We certainly did. My only complaint is that I was half-way through eating the sponge when my wife told me the owner was joking. The ower/DJ does a great job making folks feel comfortable and explains the process well. He was helpful and walked me through the process of painting my own ceramic piece. It was super cheap, the piece I picked was $25 and you can go in as many times as you need to to finish. There's no time limits either and you can come back the next day to work on it if you didn't finish which is amazing! The pricing is super fair as well, personally I painted a mug which was priced at $25 dollars. This includes the mug, studio time, paint/glaze, firing in the kiln, and glazing/finishing. It's super fun, you leave your art there and come back within 7-10 days to pick it up once it's done being fired and glazed! Lots of comfortable seating and many, many choices in pottery and mosaic cut outs. I did a mosaic for the first time and found it was very relaxing and lots of fun. One of the nicest things is that there is no time limit like there has been in other paint your own pottery places I've visited. I spent over 3 hours doing my mosaic and had to return another day to grout it, but there was no studio fees or fees for taking longer than a set amount of time. I love that because I hate to feel rushed. This business also does parties, ladies night out and many other things, just ask! Check them out, I think you'll enjoy it. I had a great time at this new art studio! I say art studio, because it's not just painting pottery. They also have a section of mosaics in various colors. This place is still new, but I hope it does really well, because I spent over 4 hours painting two pieces and received a ton of assistance from Elijah, the owner, and no per hour fees! You just pay for the cost of the piece(s) you select! I have gone to other pottery places and feel I am rushing towards the end to not incur fees, so I appreciate being able to take my time. This place is spacious and they are adding other art options too. Elijah mentioned he will be doing acrylic paintings, he will have step by step instructions and also be there to assist. If you ever gone to one of those painting with wine classes, there's a lot of people so individualized attention is rare. I'm excited to try all the options available at Kiln It. Can't wait for my next day spent there. Oh yeah, Elijah is also doing some work with wine bottles. So if you have a wine bottle that means something to you and want a creative way to display it, take it to him! So fun to do for any age! My husband and I took our nephew here. All three of us enjoyed ourselves, but I honestly think my husband and I had more fun than our 4 your nephew. They has an assortment of things to paint; piggy banks, mugs, plates, figurines you name it. Plus they have a ton of paint color to choose from. Our nephew was done before my husband and I, but good thing you are able to take home your unfinished project ( once you have paid for it) and can return at a later date.
