A large open room where you can actually paint, throw paint, shoot paint, fling paint, drop paint, splatter paint, aim for your canvas, aim for the walls, aim for eachother?!... it's rare to find a space where creativity's only limit is your imagination. And, as an extra option, you can choose to have this creative fun under black lights with glowing paint? Yes please. This cool spot provides you with a poncho, but I recommend wearing shoes and pants that can get messy. The only thing you'll need to clean up is yourself! They took care of everything - set up & clean up. We had a great time. Welcome to the list of creative & fun things to do in Albuquerque, Chatter Paint! They're new and working out the best ways to offer this space, but were really open to feedback and genuinely friendly and wonderful. First timer. Let me tell you, this was soooo fun! We had a double birthday party and everyone had a blast. Everyone from a 2 year old to 50 year old enjoyed it. Only concern is the floors can be very slippery with paint. They have plenty of warnings but maybe they need floor mats or a covering. read more

Then you get a poncho/shoe covers to protect your clothes and you are put into a room where you can paint or fling paint to your hearts content. It's not something I would do every weekend, but every once in a while when you want to be messy, creative, or both, it's a good option. read more

Do NOT support this local business, you're better off giving your money to a large corporation. This place is a safety hazard and the owners can careless if you or your child get injured. I booked a birthday party here and it was an absolute nightmare. The staff and owners are rude, disorganized, apathy, and refuse to communicate with you once they get your money. The place has a strong odor of paint, floors are wet and unsafe. The party rooms are incredibly small, dark, and dirty. The staff do not sanitize the party rooms after a party has ended and they force you to place your food in the hallway where other costumers have access to it. They book parties back-to-back there is no wiggle room to allow you to set up your party and if you have questions after booking, they will not return your calls or emails. When you arrive to set up your party they still have the previous party occupying the room which resulted in a 20 minute delay which I was not compensated for. My guest arrived and had to assist with setting up the decorations and food. This threw off the entire schedule which resulted in us rushing and not having enough time to finish celebrating. I am out nearly $100.00 that I spent on supplies, decorations, and a piñata that I was not able to use. During my first call with the owner she stated if I was going to use the piñata for the party I should have contacted her ahead of time so that she was able to arrange room for this, then two days later I contacted her again and she said that piñatas are not allowed for birthday parties. I explained SEVERAL times to her that I had no knowledge of this due to them not returning my calls or emails prior to the party. She didn't care and made an excuse saying that their business phone had been "stolen". The owner then placed the blame on me for the delay in the start time and money that I lost. She continuedly spoke over me and was dismissive and rude. The owners takes no accountability for their lack in customer service, poor communication, and safety hazards. Instead they give false excuses and blame the customer. They complain about how they are short on money, struggling to support their family and are a local business who is barely making ends meet. They don't care if you get injured at their business, instead they say that they are not at fault if the customer does not see the posted signs (which I don't understand how they expect a 5 year old to know and read this). No signs were posted at the time of my child's party and one of the children attending our party slipped and fell injuring his head. The owner had no empathy or offered any apology for this. Instead she ignored the subject and continued speaking over me. The staff members are all high school students with attitudes and according to the owner they bring their personal problems to work with them. They delete all their negative reviews and deny any wrong doing. For you safety, do not give this business any of your time or money. I'm shocked that they have remained in business. None of my statements are false, I have proof and witness. These people are crooks and have no clue how to run a business. read more

Ok I hate leaving reviews and almost never leave them. But Chatter Paint was so fun I created a Yelp account just to leave a review because it was so amazing. Outside of breweries and the outdoors, it's hard to find unique things to do in Albuquerque. After spending a decade or so here, I just get bored of visiting the same places over and over again. When I first heard of Chatter Paint, I thought it was another boring painting place where you can paint pottery or a canvas or whatever so I didn't think too much of it. Then I saw one of my friends post their experience on Instagram with the black lights and neon paints I was floored. If that's not enough, I saw the absolute mess they created and I was even more blown away. What kind of business even allows this??! I had to try it for myself. I went with my three little boys who always have so much energy. The moment they set foot inside the painting area they were in the zone. They didn't even pay attention to their canvas when they saw the cool black lights, the painting tools, and especially the paint guns. We just had to try those! They spent the next 45 minutes throwing paint at each other and just having an absolute blast. They kept on asking for more and more paint. It wasn't even about painting lol just having lots of fun with paint. Word of caution! You can get very very messy so it's a good idea to wear ponchos or bring an extra set of clothes to change into. They have a sink to wash off in, but it doesn't always get everything off especially the hair or back. When we got home, I took my boys immediately to the shower and put their clothes in the wash. Everything came out pretty easily. They were talking about their time at Chatter Paint all evening and were begging me to go back again. It's also not a cheap experience either but we felt like it was comparable to other art places and totally worth it to bring the kids out! And they get a canvas to take back home with them. I highly recommend checking out Chatter Paint for a different painting experience that the whole family can enjoy. read more

100% worth it if for nothing else but to shift clean up duties to someone else! Did with little kids and, once they get over the ability to make a mess...they were more than happy to pour and fling paint all over the place! they let loose and had a blast. Highly highly recommend the water paint gun thing which makes some cool paint splatters. Have the kids wear crappy clothes and then the awkward plastic wrapped outfit you wear on top isn't as stressful when it's slips and slides around. read more

Will was absolutely amazing! Very accommodating with us making an appointment outside their regular business hours. He answered any and all our questions and was very hospitable throughout our time there. The place is a blast! Everyone had a good time and it was amazing seeing everyone's creativity come out!! The kids really let loose and thank goodness it is water based paint because the paint came off so easily when we got home. Definitely worth trying out! read more

Super fun way to spend an hour with friends, family, kids, etc. We took our son here for some messy fun (so great when you don't have to clean up after!) and he had a blast. We went with the smallest canvas each, and it was still perfect - we painted on the canvases and then had fun on the walls! The paint is water-based, so it can get a little runny but honestly I'd rather have it be this way and not have to worry about it staining our skin or clothes. read more
