She tried to tell me that the salad didn't come with a dressing, but if *I* thought it would make my meal better, I could have some. (Ummm, it's on the menu. Can I please just have it?) My mother and I both could have done without the condescending tone. Even the process of requesting some bread for the table made us feel like we were imposing. In all, I understand that Exhibits A and B stem from a kitchen problem, but the waitress just handled things poorly. And it wasn't like she was new to the job either.
