Party City as a store has everything you could ever want when planning or hosting a party including decorations, dress up, baking supplies and all your paper needs. For this visit I went specifically for a balloon bouquet. My daughter was turning 21 and we were having a get together and wanted the bouquet for the table. I had tried to order online for pickup the next day but it would only offer pickup same day. So I went to the store. I advised of the situation and they advised they had too many orders for the next day that's why that option wasn't available. I decided to get the balloons that evening. The bouquet itself was around $30, I added on a weight, bags to keep the balloons together and they added on "hi rise" I don't know why but I didn't question it. I advised I wanted to make sure the balloons would still look their best the next day when we had the party. Well guess what... the next day at the party 1/2 of the latex balloons wouldn't rise, they just sat on the table. So my bouquet did not look fancy like it had the night before. Very disappointing for a $38 dollar display. The employees were helpful. They may have been understaffed - they were steady busy the entire time I was there and could have used a dedicated cashier. My 3 stars is due to the holding up of the product and also this store inventory was low and it appeared many items were out. read more

Has all the basics of what you'd expect to find, good variety of several occasions. A noticeable amount of items appeared out of stock--was still able to find what I needed. Service was adequate and friendly. Extremely busy around holidays for balloons so expect to wait a bit if you're shopping at peak hours for those items. Building is pretty out dated and shopping carts are worn. Reasonably priced overall, definitely cheapest balloons I've found compared to other places. read more

Order: 2 Premium Number Bouquet & 2 Latex Bouquet's, 4 weights Pros: The balloon bouquets were nice. Cons: Service absolutely horrible!!! How you have Experience Lead on your badge and your attitude is horrible! What kind of training yal getting in training sessions because what I got today was not it! Furthermore, the Assist. Manger was very brash and interjected when I was trying to explain what I wanted. When she finally listened I was able to explain that they had 2 different styles of balloons for numbers in 2 different spaces (different prices). I wanted to know what came with the bouquets. She said oh and apologized after listening. I wont be coming back to this store because they were RUDE!!!!!!!! read more

I Absolutely can NOT wait til they shut this store down for Good! Every time I visit this location it's only 1 to 2 workers and the lines are extremely long. No one on the floors to help No one to blow up balloons just a HOT A** ghetto mess read more

The store is always virtually empty and always dark. The people that work there have terrible attitudes and hate for you ask them questions. A few of them seem slow. The manager is cuckoo. Steer clear of this one. read more

Here's the deal with Party City: I still like this place. As someone who plans a lot of parties, specifically theme parties, it's so nice to go here and find everything in one location. That being said, the employees really put a damper on my visits there. Any time I need help finding something, there's never anyone around! And what's the deal with only one register being open at a time? I always feel like an asshole checking out with a full cart and a giant line behind me. When I do find an occasional employee, they're so unfriendly that they aren't even helpful. If I'm going to shop in a $$ pit, the employees better be helpful and nice enough to make it worth it. That being said, Party City, thank you for always stocking me up on party supplies, helium tanks, and everything I need to throw a bash. read more

A lot of local stores in area were out of helium, and staff was very busy at Party City. One of the associates was kind enough to fit me in and get me out the door ASAP. Great service! read more

Service off and on. Most of the time they are so rude, no greeting when you enter or will let you stand there and ignore you until you speak up. Now I'm here because the website says they open @930am but the door has 10am. Big inconvenience. Website needs to be updated‼ read more

I visited this location on April 8th. I went in for balloons. Before coming in, I CALLED them & they made me aware of their global helium shortage. Sure. I understand that they are many things happening on this earth where helium isn't always available, but when these shortcomings exist, we should always have a Plan B. The associate (I believe her name was Brittany) told me they could blow up my balloons with one of their helium tanks over the phone. When I got there, she told me I had to BUY the tank. Why couldn't Party City use one of the helium tanks to make up for their inconvenience? It didn't make any sense. This is a party store. Everyone gets their balloons from here. DO BETTER. read more

The service is the worst. They are complacent and aren't friendly. Takes forever to get help or checked out.

Great store for party accessories. They have one aisle full of plates, napkins, cups and plastic-ware in every color imaginable. If you can not find a color to work with your party theme, I'd be surprised. My recent visit here was to pick up goodies for a 60th birthday celebration. I found a DVD that highlights all the news, music, sports and movies of 1953. I also found several typical joke gifts for the celebration. My personal favorite resembles crime tape, but says "caution 60th birthday celebration in progress". The customer service here is minimal. I was greeted on the sales floor, but when I said I was okay they quickly went on their way. No friendly chat to up-sell. I thought retail associates were there to increase sales. The cashier was quick to ring me out, but again no friendly conversation to encourage me to return for future party needs. Great store for party needs you'll find almost anything you need for a fun party, but they need to improve their customer service. read more

I was here the other day to pick up some items for a first birthday party. The party themes are cute and varied, and there are a lot of nice things (cups, party hats, invitations, decorations, etc) to choose from within the themes. Princesses, Sesame Street, circus, trains, or tractor trailers.... they have it all. However, the store in general is not very attractive or appealing. It's just plain tile flooring and white walls. There's nothing warm or welcoming about it. The customer service was not wonderful, either. I'm pretty sure I could've gotten these same items at better prices by shopping on Amazon. read more

Throwing a Cardinals themed baseball party for our son's first birthday. We called ahead to make sure they had what we were looking for, the worker confirmed they had it in stock. It also said the items were in stock online. Drove to the store. It was chaos. Couldn't find a worker to help me, couldn't find the items. Finally found a worker who reluctantly came over to help me, she said the stuff was probably in the back and hadn't been unpacked yet and walked away. I was really bummed. read more

Nothing off about this place. I got the cups and tablecloths in the colors that I wanted, along with some other cheapo plastic decorations (beads, hats, straws). The cashier was friendly and had a sense of humor. Solo cups were $7.99 (but BOGO at the time), so I don't know if they're any more expensive here than at a grocery store... the selection is wider though. read more

got balloons there and they didn't tell me they only lasted a few hours. also didn't mention there was a serum to use to make them last longer. when I called about this they only offered a discount to buy more and the manager was not friendly at all. will not be going here again. read more

I almost didn't go because of the bad reviews. Maybe the reviewers were having a bad day. Excellent experience. Efficient service - pleasant people at the check out. Had everything I needed and things I didn't even think of getting there. And it was Halloween! The store was packed. read more

The worst service ever. Only one cashier with 3 other employees chit chatting and a manager who is clueless. To not shop here.

Tried to send a same day ballon delivery from out of state. Spoke to a clerk over phone for the procedure. Young lady very pleasant, explained I needed to order on line with a 3 hr window...agreed. Well, went on line spent time confirming location was deliverable and then proceeded to select from my options. Once done the calendar would not allow selection for delivery today even though before noon on a Tuesday...none of the neighboring stores allowed me to select a delivery for today either...so I thought maybe a systems glitch. So I called this store location...got another pleasant lady who transferred me to a manager because she didn't know about the delivery details. This is where it actually goes down hill for me..A woman picks up the phone with an extremely rude unpleasant tone and doesn't identify herself...I ask if she's the manager (no need of explaining myself again if she wasn't) she says flat, harsh, and cold "YEAH!" Ok...hmm, so I start to explain and inquire if it's possible to get my delivery out today...this woman was so rude and unprofessional you would have thought I woke her from hibernation! She interrupted me scoldingly and sternly while failing to address my questions, unless I redirected her and reinserted them while in the midst of her babble...didn't listen worth a damn! She clearly is on a power trip! Why are people answering their work calls like this? Where is the courtesy and customer service? You sell balloons! Make it a pleasant experience! I was fine with them being unable to deliver balloon today, ALTHOUGH they advertise same day DELIVERIES and I wasted my time with their online website mess. I just needed to understand the procedure and possibility. So what I finally got from this tyrant at the party store was - in store they have nothing to do with the on line experience, although they receive directives from there. Also they will not check to see if there is an online problem with placing orders - no trouble shooting available here for the customer. They also seem just fine not servicing or assisting customers out of state trying to utilize their services for an in-state delivery 3 miles up the freakin road from the store! Shame on you. Do better! And woman if you don't want to be manager step aside and let one of your subordinates do the job. It's not always the problem, it's how you handle or work the problem. No customer should have to deal with this crap! Stop applying for jobs you do not want! Go do something that makes you happy. Clearly the party store is not for you. Good grief! Headquarters if you are reading this, manager was on duty 3/14/2022 approximately 11:30am. Provide customer training please. read more

If you have basic party needs, this particular Party City will do you fine. Is it the nicest party store in town? Not really. Are the people who work here helpful? Sometimes. Are the prices right? Heck no! Everything here is very expensive, so unless you're in a major party bind, I'd suggest ordered ahead of time from Oriental Trading or just going to Target to get what you need. The only reason I stop in Party City is because I buy helium tanks fairly regularly and this is one place I can get them. Most Wal-Marts don't carry helium and I'm too scared to brave the parking lot at the Brentwood Target for a helium tank. So Party City it is. For about $45, you can get the larger sized tank and it'll last you for 40-50 balloons. That's kind of ridiculous when you think about it, $1 per balloon, but I guess that's the going rate for helium these days. What ticks me off about the mini tanks is that the stores don't recycle them. I'm not sure why, as you'd just have to fill it back up with helium, but instead they just throw the used tanks away. Seems really wasteful if you ask me... Since helium balloons are apparently bad for the environment, I try to stay away from buying tanks here. Unless it's a special event, I can make do with other decorations. But if I have to get one, I guess Party City will have to do the job for now. read more

Nice large store. Good amount of supplies for halloween and parties I recently went to purchase something I saw on their website. I walked around the store 2-3 times looking for the item. NO ONE WORKER ON THE FLOOR TO HELP ME. They were all at the register. I got some other things I didn't even really need waited in line and then asked the check out girl if they could get me the one item I actually came for. She said she didn't know if they carried it. She asked another worker. That worker said they do carry it and it's in aisle one. Then the worker told me to pay for my purchase then go find the item (myself) again and get BACK in line. I am mad but at this point I really wanted that item. So I paid then attempted to find the item again in the aisle but couldn't. Then left without what I came for. I don't think so. I won't ever be back here. I am disappointed in how unhelpful both workers were. read more

I am a BIG party planner, and usually love all the Party City's I have gone to - however I feel this location is nothing special. Every time I have been in here I always get below par service, and tons of mistakes. Now it could just be me for some reason since Abby and AImee seem like they have had good experiences - but this location's staff is really slacking it! Their products are of course the same as any other Party City store - so they get an A in that department. But I will be going to the location in Sunset Hills way before grabbing anything from the store on Olive! read more

This location is the retail equivalent of a DUMPSTER FIRE. One of the worst shopping experiences I've ever had. I waited around for 20 minutes to buy a balloon because there was only 1 staff member inflating balloons while the other 3 stood around and watched. When it was finally our turn they ended up being out of stock on all 3 of the balloons we wanted. (Not necessarily their fault). But then when I went to check out for the other items I wanted, no one would check myself or the other customer out. One employee said that her register wasn't open and proceeded to walk away while the other remain cashier was playing on his personal cell phone and said that we should wait for her to check us out. At this point they proceeded to argue over who would do it. I ended up just walking out without anything, and drove across St. Louis to another store. read more

I'm truly disgusted by this Party City. I am pretty reasonable when it comes to stores getting backed up and busy but there was one employee that referred to a customer as "that crazy Asian lady" and laughed. It wasn't a subtle name calling either, she did not care to say it even though other customers (like me, who is Asian) standing within 5 feet of her. My jaw dropped by the lack of respect or care. Then I stood there waiting for help, they were behind on their balloon orders so I waited patiently. I continually saw employees walking around, not helping their team or ringing customers, so I said excuse me and no one (not the team or the employee pouting around) responded. I will honestly never go to this Party City again, their employees don't care about their job, and won't care to ensure the customer gets what they already paid for. I stood there listening to employees complain about one another as the reason for their backed up orders on balloons and missing customers orders. read more

This location in Olivette is absolutely HORRIBLE! I called to place a balloon order and was put on hold for 15 minutes! I hang up, call back and an employee who stated she is the store manager (Tina) answered the phone hysterically, loudly laughing so I couldn't understand a word she said! After explaining she left me on hold for 15 minutes she didn't seem to care and stated they were "busy." I asked for a General Managers name and number and she cut me off and said the GM was actually in the store and would I like to speak to her. Yes, I did! So, the GM gets on the phone and she was just as bad as the "manager" of the store and had no resolution to the poor customer service I received! Left the phone call feeling frustrated and with no resolution.....My company will not do business with them again. read more

A very inefficient and unprofessional staff. Immediately when walking in, the manager was raising his voice to woman. This place sucks because of its staff. I think when you are caught up with trying to get ur items for your kids birthday party or graduation party you are caught up in what you need that you don't notice that there is ONE cashier and a line of over 5 ppl each with numerous little items. There is no sense of urgency with getting anything done and you can never find anyone on the floor to assist you with anything. So its super self serve as you figure it out. With that being said.....partycity.com is the shit!! They constantly have coupons, promos going on. After an annoying experience here, signed up for their email, checked it out and was able to plan, pay super low prices just ordering online for the next party. So screw the store, shop online! read more

I love the selection which is the only reason I am giving it more than one star. This place is conveniently located and has things that I need to buy, so I suffer through the terrible, I mean TERRIBLE customer service. However, if there were competition within a 10 min radius, I would never go back. I went on Friday night to get balloons. Yeah, probably a bad idea due to all of the orders for prom and graduations, etc. However, instead of just telling me they didn't have time to blow up the balloon I wanted to take to my dad in the hospital, they openly and rudely ignored me for about 15 mins. I went back the next day because I still needed the blasted 'get well soon' balloons. There were hardly any people in the store. The apathetic clerk did find the time to blow up my balloons, but he did a really lazy and crappy job. Didn't curl the ribbons, or even bother to trim them, so I was tracking long ugly ribbons throughout the hospital. Ugh, so rude. These experiences are typical of this location. The one in West County is way better, but quite a drive. Fire everyone that works there and start over. Have a nice day! read more

This place is unprofessional. The manager is the most incompetent. The wait to pay is about 30 mins every time we're there (even with only a couple people ahead in line). No joke. Everyone is rude and lazy. We pre-ordered balloons recently for 8 pm pickup and the manager put the pick-up time at 9 pm even though they close at 8:30 that day. It's a good thing we went early because, when we got there, the balloons weren't even made and we had to wait a good 40 mins for them to blow 15 rubber balloons. The girl that worked there said "I wish we would've known we have a balloon order" Please, it's your job to know there's a balloon order not mine. She had to do them a couple of times over because she kept messing up and the balloons wouldn't float. Dafuq. Never going back again. read more

Party City is a really sweet store. It's like the type of place I can still have fun in and ogle at everything in even though I am not 5 years old anymore. But that's okay, my 23 year old self had a pretty good time looking through what seemed like endless aisles of stuff. The people who worked there were friendly enough and fairly helpful but the floors were kinda...filthy? IDK. Maybe it's the location/age of the store but it just looks kinda trashy and grungy from the outside but that's okay. It's kind of like Tumblr in that sense. Kind boring from the outside but once you get in you're like HHNNNHHOMGZZ!! Explosions of color and fun things everywhere. Without the memes. But yeah, I like that the location is close to my workplace so I can stop by after work if needed!! Expensive, though, so only buy essentials here and then get the rest at Wal-Mart. read more

I called the Sunset hills location asking for 90th birthday napkins...black with silver and gold polka dots.....I repeat...I called...I asked....employee said yes we have these...I drove 60 miles to this location...the napkins were white with primary color stripes...the male employee apparently did not listen to a word I said...nothing about these napkins were what I was asking about..and if I had known...these napkins were an online only option (the website does not indicate) I wouldn't have wasted my time! read more

I needed some do-dads for the big speakeasy---so this party city was reasonably close to my work---off I went....it is huge and because it is graduation time they had an enormous amount of party décor, costumes, etc. etc. in every color you could imagine. yellow, red, orange, suspenders bow-ties, hats....I found the stuff to be really spread all over the store but luckily a sales girl asked me how she could help and proceeded to run and grab me a fedora from another aisle which was very sweet of her. Seriously if you are in a time crunch and money isn't of the most importance you can probably take care of en entire event from napkins, plates, décor, costumes, all from this one store. They are of course more expensive then ordering your stuff on-line---I have put together a lot of trade show tables and parties and know how to do it on the cheap--but most often cannot get everything all at the same place...so I recognize this is a great place for those people throwing a little grad party or summer fling and don't have the creative energy or time to look all over for all the details...it is nicely packaged right here at party city..... read more
