Well, I think you're supposed to try the clothes on BEFORE you take all the tags off and BEFORE you shred the receipt. But that didn't happen. I took them back to THIS store, because the store of origination didn't have the needed size. Customer service is right up front -- which I found out after having walked half the store. OK, walking is a good thing. I had no tags, no receipt, BUT the purchase was on my Kohl's credit card. I was offered a refund or a replacement. I went quickly to the men's department (which is quite adjacent to Customer Service) and found a better size of the same short. That was so painless, the clerk was so friendly and knowledgeable. It was amazing!

Pros: clean store…read more Cons: absolutely nasty customer service. We bought $200 worth of clothes and the associate was trying to pressure us into getting a Kohls Credit Card. Hard no. When we told her no, she got snippy and said "your loss". Our loss? Nobody wants to pay high interest on your makeshift credit card, Kohls. Even worse, now my Mom goes to pay and swipes her debit card. She accidentally did her PIN backwards, and the card declines. The associate whispers to her co-worker "now I know why she didn't want that credit card. she can't even afford the one she has". WHAT? I didn't know someone could be so nasty. The girls continued snickering after we walked out the doors. We won't ever be back to this Kohls. I don't know why people have to be so nasty, so pushy, etc. Do better Kohls!!

I've been in the Chesterfield location twice and was helped by the same person. She is pleasant and professional but doesn't stop talking long enough to listen to her customers. She tried to make me order items instead of buying in person. Ack! I just want to shop! I try to be respectful to my elders but she truly has run me out of the store - twice! I've driven by this place an innumerable amount of times and I always just thought it was clothes for older persnickety women. Well either I'm one of those women now or I was under a misapprehension but my purchase worked out for me. I had the option to purchase online but really wanted to try things on as I wasn't sure of the cut. I'd called another location yet this location really went out of their way for me. They pulled two or three sizes and since they would be closing soon, they made a valiant effort to have the items ready for me in the waiting room. I walked in, they knew it was me (lucky guess), I tried them on, they fit, I purchased them at the already discounted price; and the lovely associate granted me with an additional coupon!  I was able to score two linen skirts. Both normally retail for about $100 each and I was able to snatch both for $50 and some change. Great quality pieces, nice service that was attentive and fast... I'll definitely be back especially during sale time.

The fit wasn't right for me or I would've snapped up a couple. The employees were friendly and were quick to help find items and answer questions. Prices were probably comparable to other similar stores, but I'm not sure. The store was clean, bright, and open. The fitting rooms had plenty of space and privacy, too. I would have loved to roam the store more to see all the stuff I don't need and can't use, but I ran out of time. Between Hubby and me, however, a few other goodies ended up in our shopping bag, like blue jeans and gardening gloves. I plan to visit again, especially when it comes time to do my Christmas shopping. And maybe even get something for the dogs.

Around February, I bought these boots because they looked great. Several months in, I get a scuff…read moremark on them. Much to my surprise, regular shoe polish nor boot cream could remove it. I had to go to a shoe repair place to learn that the goat leather of these boots and the way Cavenders colored them makes them easy to scuff and necessitates an actual leather dye or shoe spray to cover up. Per the shoe repair place, the dye used is not an oil-based dye but some other process where the dye does not penetrate into the leather. I will have to pay $50-$100 dollars to get them stripped of whatever is on them to put an oil-based dye on them and hopefully be able to put some type of treatment on them to guard against scuffing. When I contacted Cavenders to see what could be done to resolve this, they would only look at them to see if there was a manufacturer's defect. But, there isn't one because they know the process that they used to color these boots. While this boot looks great, scuffing is a huge problem that makes this purchase not good at all! And I hate because these were the first pair of new boots that I ever bought. It is a shame because initially the customer service at Cavender's was really great. But, now that I have a problem, I suddenly have problems. The website customer service could do nothing. When I asked for the corporate number to complain, I got a number with a system where you have to know the extension or the name of a specific person. I could never get to a live person to speak to. Whatever you do, don't buy this boot, even while it is on sale. It has been on sale since at least February when I bought mine. I am starting to think that they put it on sale because of problems that they have had with these boots.
