I contacted 7/8 to check in - she stated that she needs to drop them off early to me, as she will be leaving the State 7/15, so she'll message me Monday. Never messaged me Monday, so I messaged her. no response for hours after being left on read. At this point I'm panicking - begging her to tell me if she won't come through so I can have a backup plan, as my alter for wedding was dependent on these additional pieces - so I call, no answer. She messages me at 9pm saying she was busy with appointments and has too much going on, but rest assured my pillars will be delivered as she won't ruin my big day, talking as if they will be on Tuesday before she leaves town. No response on Tuesday after telling her I will pick them up Wednesday. Today, Thursday morning she has blocked me both on her personal page and business page. She has added so much stress to my wedding day by flaking. Unprofessional & Rude are the kindest words I can think of this woman. Do not let the few good reviews fool you, as she can and will stoop this low and does not care about ruining your event. Its time to hire some people to help you with your business if you're "too busy" to run it. You should be ashamed of yourself. Don't think I won't find away to make it known on all platforms how pitiful this business is by blocking me - I will find a way. ;)

Her quoted price was completely reasonable and competitive, to say the least. She was so kind and thoughtful and gracious. Her flowers are gorgeous and fresh. Her design looked straight out of an expensive catalogue. Horrible experience, the venue was not mowed, nor racked before my son and daughter in laws…read morereception set up, The venue stated a year ago when we met with them for the first time that they would have everything needed to help with the reception and when it came down to it they not only lied about that they also got mad because we chose to use our own vendors instead of what they offered in the contract it states they have electrical outlets as well as generators on the property as well as extra tents if needed available and when it came time for our vendors to arrive we found they had no electricity on the property at all then they got an attitude about needing electricity they said it was our responsibility to provide the electricity and everything for our reception that they are just a platform for the reception, they then began threatening my daughter in law and son to start charging them an extra 100.00 on the hour if we did not get off the property with everything taken down at 10pm which is when our reception was supposed to end, she then began telling me as I refused to let my children have their night ruined that we was supposed to shut our reception down at 7pm and begin cleaning up the venue and being gone at 10pm all she wanted to say was look at your contract which we have and the fact is she put the dates on the contract but no times and she signed it, as well as the contract we have says that the bar and DJ has to shut down at 10:30pm, the driveway to the venue is also very narrow and they have a large camper sitting at the top of the entrance way as well as 2 vehicles making it very hard to pull in and out of the venue. These people sent us several very nasty text messages and were very untruthful they then said they would be sending us an itemized bill for what they helped with again stating this is in the contract which again is not.

They catered a tailgate for us for the opening Notre Dame game - and delivered the food. Not the easiest of requests to make to a cater in the area, most local business require you to pick up the food for your tailgate due to the difficulties in delivering the food there, but Sugar Ella's did this for us. They advertise their catering specifically for tailgating. Our menu consisted of smoked brisket, sausage and kraut, cowboy beans, Mexican cornbread casserole, loaded baked potato dips, chips, rolls, and dessert platters with chocolate chunk cookies and brownies. My personal favorites were the brisket and brownies! The brisket was all the rave at the tailgate...I could literally eat platefuls of this and be one happy meat-lover. It comes in their homemade bbq sauce that's not sweet or spicy, but perfectly tangy and settle. The brownies were huge and succulent...and they mastered a hard technique: super thick brownies that are overbaked or too dry. Their prices are affordable compared to their competition. I highly encourage you to check them out and give a glance at their website. Additionally, they have a Facebook page - I've checked it out and the only suggestion I give is that they put a little more into their marketing and social media activity. They cater all events, not just weddings - a nice find the Michiana area!

My actual rating would be 4.5…read more I have a girlfriend who lives in South Bend (I live in Washington State). She has always loved Wygant Floral, so I have utilized their services for special occasions since the late 90s. Admittedly, I have not order from them in several years. I needed a funeral spray for my girlfriend's mother. I checked Wygant's on-line reviews before ordering and found some disappointing reviews on Yelp (less so on Google). The common theme for those expressing dissatisfaction was that the end-product was not as full as the image on the website and some of the images posted looked quite sparse. I noticed that these reviews were from earlier in the pandemic and wondered if supply chain issues had impaired Wygant's ability to deliver to expectation. I will say that Wygant's strong suit has always been (and still is) is excellent customer service. I called and spoke with Therese (I hope I am recalling her name correctly). I shared my concern over the reviews I had read. She said the company was well established and had been providing services in South Bend for decades. She also noted that they "were open" during the pandemic and she couldn't understand where the negative reviews were coming from. I was wise enough to ASK if the flowers were available to make the 3 sprays under consideration. They did not have lavender flowers, so that spray was eliminated. The attached image shows the spray I selected as it appears on Wygant's website. I was advised that the gladiolas were not in season, but they would substitute other white flowers and preserve the contemporary look, with the flowers sweeping at a diagonal. I was also advised that the broad green leaves were not available. I asked that they not substitute the spiky palm leaves, as those have a more traditional appearance. She assured me that the spray would look "full and beautiful" and they would preserve the contemporary feel. The day before the funeral, I requested and received via email an image of the spray they created. It seems they found a few broad, green leaves, which was a nice surprise. The spray did not replicate the fullness of the image on the website. In particular, my eye was drawn to the 'empty' areas in the middle of the spray (blue circles). I realize that exact reproductions are not possible (and I did not expect this), but my spray appeared sparser than I anticipated based on the internet image. I called and shared my disappointment/concern with Adrienne, who was very polite. I asked if she could insert 2 more white flowers of her choice in the 'empty' areas marked with the blue circles and she agreed to do so. She said that the sprays are "filled to value". I offered to compensate Wygant for the 2 additional flowers and she said this would not be necessary. She sent me an image of the final spray and I was quite pleased with the end result, as was my girlfriend. Adrienne had placed a small cluster of small white flowers in each area. (I apologize to those more knowledgeable than I . . . I have no idea what type of flowers she used.) Adrienne had even inserted a third cluster of small white flowers toward the outer border of the spray (white circle), which was above and beyond what we had agreed to. Since the flower arrangements are "filled to value", I wonder if the images depicted on their website set unrealistic expectations. Perhaps Wygant should post images of the sprays and the bouquets that they have recently created (and the price). If you are a persnickety perfectionist like I am . . . ask the florist at any shop if they have the flowers they need to make the bouquet you are considering, the substitutions they propose, and if the images on the website provide an accurate depiction of the end product in terms of size and fullness.
