Did great with the balloon order took forever to pick them up. Need a better system and more staff!!

I've had an average experience here with the cashier (female) ( not sure of the name) I've encountered being helpful and considerate! However Yesterday when I picked up (curbside) my balloons a (male with beard) loaded them in without a bag, he struggled getting them all to cooperate and he shut the hatch down on one. This store should be fun to shop at considering they sell PARTY supplies. The majority of employees are so unenthusiastic you'd think they worked in a morgue. The girl who just checked us out was rude, impatient and unfriendly. She acted like she couldn't even be bothered to open her mouth to speak clearly and got aggravated when we asked her to repeat what she was saying to us. Employees and experiences like this are why people choose to shop online and physical stores are going out of business. read more

Generally, it works out alright. Limited product / inventory. Challenging when going online as the local store doesn't carry most of what is offered and the local store will select from their existing inventory. Scary. The property needs a good cleaning which would also include improved organization of balloons. It looks tired and corporate doesn't appear to provide any monies to upgrade, sad. Actually feel sorry for the employees, at least those that are pleasant and willing to help. You are always grateful when you get a positive attitude person who actually wants to work and provide service. read more

Store is a bit pricey likely due to the fact that much of the merchandise is character licensed. Went in to put together a farm themed party but there's not enough of any one theme to put much together. Expected a store chock full of party stuff. Instead, it's an odds and ends store that's about 60% full. read more

I agree with the previous reviews, a party city is a party city and you can usually find what you need for basic birthday or party supplies. It's the workers here that get the 1 star review. The first lady I interacted with was blunt and downright rude. The second was snippy as well to the customer behind me. I've never had an issue walking in for a few balloons at a party city until this one, they require a 24 hour notice for balloon orders (even very small orders, I bought six balloons.) they did fill the balloons up but acted like it was literally physically paining them to have to fill six non advance ordered balloons. I won't shop again at this location just because the atmosphere as so negative. read more

Awful customer service. This place deserves no stars. Half the stuff I needed was stocked in the wrong spot and when asked why the cost was so different than what the tags said they just said well whoops we stocked them in the wrong spot. The wait is a joke. One cashier when the line is a dozen people deep while 2 others are chatting away "stocking" and by stocking I mean putting random stuff places. Nope. read more

Let me be clear I didn't have an issue with the store itself, my entire issue is with the corporate office. We ordered a bunch of supplies online for a graduation party and the money cleared my account (in 2 separate transactions which is weird but it cleared) then... They now have a new pending charge for almost the same amount but not quite the same because the change is off making my account negative because of this double charge. When I tried to contact them by phone every choice you choose gives you some bs answer and then hangs up on you. I think it's crap you can't talk to a person regarding payments for the products you order. So in conclusion either they are incompetent or have been hacked. Either way I'm not happy! read more

If I could give zero stars i would. This place has horrible customer service. The store was disorgaized and dirty. I asked the associates to help me find the supplies for a wedding shower and they pointed me down a aisle i had searched already. I asked her to show me. By the way she acted you would have thought i asked her to climb MT. Everest. When she finally showed me the spot there was nothing there. Then another associate came up and said someone needed a pinita. Without excusing herself, or saying I'll be right back, she just left me standing there still wondering where the shower decorations were??? I have never had customer service like that EVER!!! I would give ZERO stars if possible, we walked out without party supplies. The employees were very rude and made it clear that customers are not important, the manager was on her cell the whole time..... I'm rather sure it was a personal call, unless it's normal to call customers babe and talk about what they are going to do to him upon returning home. read more

Went in to get balloons for my friends birthday spent 30 minutes waiting for the cashier because she kept messing up finally went to pay and she messed it up again and took 10 minutes before a manager would come help her finally comes to do the return which the cashier had messed up but didn't ring up something so i pointed it out that way the register wouldn't come up short for anything trying to help them out and the manager gets rude with me telling me she's doing them separately then realizes that something was missing and spends another 5 minutes trying to figure out what i had already told her was missing and as my friend is saying we should've just got a pinyata she rudely says you need to be quite we have customers in the store and continued to be rude until we paid. my daughter, Riley turned 12 recently and I wanted to throw her a bday party. my friends suggested Party city. my daughter wanted a nolstalgic birthday party since next year she'll be turning 13. so we go to party city. of course I have my 2 other kids with me, Leo and Olivia. we enter the store, Riley pushing Olivia's stroller and me holding Leo's hand. we first go to the baby section, where Riley picks out pink passificers and "its a girl" ballons. next she goes to the young kids' section where she picks out peppa pig plates and sofia the first napkins. she also finds a "im a year old today" sticker things. then she gets my little pony ballons and Barbie party hats. she gets toy story themed table decorations and stranger things wall decorations. I find 3 dollar 12 candles. we go to the counter where I let each of my kids choose candy and a small toy. when we reach the front the employee was kinda rude. but she still did everything. then her phone rings and she runs away. the caisher next to her takes over. she is nice and polite and gets everything rung up and blows up thr correct ballons and is over all pretty nice. then she asks "how old is your daughter turning" I smile and reply "12". she gives my daughter a look of disgust and finishs what she was doing. we leave. oh did I mention it cost me almost 200 dollars. last time im going to Party City read more

Thought I would go in to get some balloons even reading the past reviews and was that a mistake. After waiting in line for 20 minutes I went to cashier-Haley-and showed her the balloon set I wanted from internet. She said if they had it it would be in an 'aisle'. I told her that I wasn't going to wait in line again to go look for it. She rolled her eyes and went and got it and plopped it down on the counter and sarcastically said if I wanted them blown up. I told her yes, but also wanted to know if they had a 'mom' balloon. She said she didn't know and I would have to look down the aisles. Not sure why this type of balloon is not stocked up front. I told her once again that if you make me go look for it then I am not going to end of line which by now was 2 rows long. She stared at me and said nothing. I looked for it and a young gentleman asked me if he could help me and I showed him pictures of the mom balloons from internet. He said they didn't have them. When I went back to Haley she called another customer and I said wait a minute I should be taken care of first. She then informed me there would be a 30 minute wait for my balloons to be blown up as there is a back-up now since I had to look for balloons that don't exist in store. I was so disgusted at this point that I just handed her the weight to put on them and she then informed me they don't attach them. I told her I wanted a refund and do not want to spend my money in this store. The manager came up-Ashley I believe-and I told her that her employee is horrible and explained what happened. As she did the refund she threw the items 5 feet away in a bin. You can see where the bad attitude comes from in the store. One of the most horrible experiences I have had in retail. Got 40th birthday party balloons filled at this Party City on 11/26/18 at 4:40 PM, drove them back to work (less than 15 minutes in the car) and stored them in our 72 degree break room over night.... came back the next morning and 2 of the 8 balloons were already starting to fall. By 1:00 PM on 11/27/18 half of the balloons were falling. Also, when I purchased the balloons (on a different day) I specifically asked if I would be charged to fill the balloons and the cashier stated "no, just make sure to bring in your receipt". I then paid $1.19 per balloon to have them filled - total of $9.52 for 8 balloons, which by the way was more than the balloons cost to purchase empty! I would not recommend this party city location to anyone. I have never had an issue purchasing balloons or getting them filled at the Valparaiso location. In fact, I had balloons filled at that location (same type) that lasted longer than a week. The foil ones from that location have lasted almost 3 weeks. read more
