We went up to the register and suddenly things spiraled out of control. I couldn't believe how good of a deal I was getting, until the tally started to climb up past the seventies. "That doesn't seem right," I thought to myself. I checked the price tags again. What was happening? The price that had previously read $14.99 now said $26.99. And so on. What? This doesn't make sense! In a state of pure catatonia, I handed over my debit card, unable to dispute. As I left the store, exiting the Twilight Zone, my friend snapped me out of my stupor to find out what happened. I explained to her what happened, and she agreed that she had also checked the price of my costume pieces several times, not believing how reasonable the price was. We left feeling violated and confused. As I sank into the passenger seat, too traumatized to drive due to the emotional and financial rape I had just endured, I pulled out my receipt. Scanning it frantically, my eyes fell to the bottom, along with my heart: "ALL SALES ARE FINAL." My only attempt to explain what happened to me is that a store employee, or some sort of lowly criminal, hired to do the dirtiest of their work, followed us, learning our habits and innermost desires, searching for a way to crush our spirits in the most savage of ways. After lifting our hopes and spirits to the sky, he brought them to a crashing halt as he drugged us and switched the price tags on the items that we had been daydreaming about for months. The sad reality of this incident makes me feel as though I've succumbed to a dark, empty, existence in which I will never experience the joys of festive tricks and treats again. Also, my friend tried to buy a leotard marked $9.99, and the nigga tried to charge her $30.

Disappointing Experience. Lack of Transparency & Customer Service…read more I paid $172 to have several dozen balloons filled with helium at the Cappels in Blue Ash for a 3/29/26 event. I called a week in advance to confirm they fill balloons purchased elsewhere. I was told yes, given a price estimate, and specifically told the store was closed on Sunday, so I would need to bring them in Saturday. (I was accused of calling the wrong store. I did not and my phone log is proof) I dropped the balloons off Saturday afternoon and paid in full. By the next morning, all but one balloon had deflated. Since I was told the store was closed Sunday, I had no way to address the issue before my event. When I followed up, I was told they don't guarantee balloons purchased elsewhere, a policy that was never disclosed. Only later after informing the owner that my negative review would be left on social media, did she offer a partial refund, which I declined, as the service completely failed and was left with no balloons for my event. Mistakes happen, I get it but it's the lack of transparency, accountability and willingness to back the customer when THEIR services obviously failed. Customers deserve clear communication and fair resolution. DO BETTER CAPPELS! I definitely will not return.

My order was stuffed into a bag which could have damaged several of the items, luckily it did not. I stumbled onto GFS here three years ago when the pandemic started and every grocery store was out of bread flour. This place has two different types of large bakery sized bags of bread flour and it's inexpensive per pound at under $15 for a 25 lb bag (as of late 2022.) Many items are priced middling or high... GFS is really a restaurant supply store so in theory you'd come here to find everything you need in bulk quantities, not to save on every item. A few things they do have are unique, such as $13 for a four pack of butane cans for stoves, and some large cryo vacuum packed cuts of meat such as brisket. I find small individual 5 oz frozen tuna steaks, and some items such as individual whole racks of ribs frozen. It's a very quiet store most of the time so this is a good destination if you're frazzled and want to avoid crowds. Easy in and out and never a line at the checkout.

The shop is cluttered and not that big, but they packed lots in there. This iconic store has been around for years and I was glad to finally get to visit. So far, my order has lasted for 48 hours and has not lost any helium. Very happy! I find that the prices here can be very good on certain items but I always do my research. My balloons look horrible. They didn't even bother to curl the ribbon (a detail Cappel's always adds) and the way the employee tied them made it impossible to curl the whole other side of the ribbon. They stacked them okay but left the main balloon way too high up. For what I paid for all of the balloons and the weight this is so disappointing. I could have gotten 1) more 2) better quality and care. I will never go here again.
