This place has been around for a while but I don't usually go there because there was a Diddams close by but since it closed, Party City is my go to place. The place is very clean and has a large selection of the latest kid themes, the whole left side of the store is dedicated to the children section. However, there are so many children themes that the selection for each theme is limited. They also have the standard bridal, graduate, Halloween and other common party themes. The prices seem excessive. I bought a rainbow, unicorn themed plastic tablecloth that fell apart when I was opening the package, for $7.99. They have a large selection of balloons as well. There is no one on the floor if you need help finding something. You have to go to the check out to ask for help and once I did, the service was great. Most of the employees are at the balloon station, not sure why because there was no line of people waiting for balloons. They have very limited costumes as well so if I need to go here and buy a few things and then get the rest online, it's more productive for me to just get everything online. read more

I called ahead bc this was my first time needing some balloons for a birthday. The staff member on the phone was helpful and said coming in was the only way to get my order today without ordering online. He said sometimes the things online are not available in store. Took sometime to get to this location but when i arrived i was greeted right away and instructed to pick out which balloons i wanted along the shelves then u can bring them to the counter to pay and they will blow it up for u. I picked a couple and like the wide selection they have. They let me know when it came time to pay the balloons will most likely last 6-8hrs and suggested to add something inside the balloon to make it last 24hrs but it was not guaranteed. It was .30 more a balloon? Not sure but i decided to get it so my balloons will last longer. I like the way they arranged my balloons. Next day my balloons are still afloat which is nice! Def wanna go back for another birthday or event. read more

This party city saved the day! I ordered some party supplies for my baby's birthday and while the store wasn't able to fulfill all of it, they were super helpful letting me know which other party city stores had what I needed. Their prices were cheaper than Amazon too. I bought a balloon from them and was gonna get it refilled for the day I needed it. WELL I was closer to a different store (not gonna say which location) so I went there and was told I needed to wait an hour to get my balloon filled?? That seemed like a lot of time to me... I waited because I had already given them my balloon, but it turns out it didn't matter anyway because the staff popped my balloon trying to inflate it, and then they couldn't replace it cuz they didn't have it. So, I ended up back at this Party City where they replaced the balloon and inflated it with no wait. I should have gone back here in the first place lol read more

The customer service is utterly awful! One thing I noticed right away way when entering the establishment was one of the employees (male-wears glasses) on register 1 or the lead register was very pleasant to certain customers (you know with a welcome greeting and and just oozing with love of job, but his demeanor changed drastically when "other" patrons need assistance or ready to check out! The worst business with the worst service. I'm not sure if there's a management issue, a training issue, or simply employees who are lazy and don't care. Either way, if you depend on them for anything, plan to be disappointed. Come early, plan to spend a lot of time trying to get what you want there. We used to come here for birthday party decorations. The problem is that they constantly run out of helium for the Birthday balloons. I had to go to Safeway and pay them to inflate the balloons for me. The party favors also break very easily. For Halloween, they ran out of costumes too fast. She said there were online orders she had to do and the wait for one balloon to be blown up is 45 minutes. I had a doozy of an experience here. We had an order for curbside pickup. When I arrived I called and they said they'd be right out. 5 minutes later they weren't so I went into the store. I was expecting them to all be busy, but they were all standing around discussing balloon inventory. When I asked for my order, there was no apology that they hadn't brought it out. I needed to exclude one of the items, and that's when it got really bad. The employee who "helped" me clearly wasn't happy to cancel this order. She wasn't able to do it on their mobile device and got increasingly frustrated. I finally asked if she could return it instead of canceling. She asked if I had the original card used for purchase, which I didn't, and she sighed and said she'd have to ask a manager (who stood beside me the whole time and didn't help). The manager approved it "just this once" as if I was inconveniencing her as well. They revamped this location and I love the new changes. Balloons are organized into sections by occasion and you can freely browse & grab the balloons you want. No more annoying waiting in line, asking for the number on the balloon you want, only to find out it's out of stock. It's a lot more streamlined now. Grab your balloons, pay at checkout, and have it blown up at the balloon counter. This location is also a lot more organized than other locations. Every party theme is separated and neatly laid out; gone is the clutter. I come here at least 5-6 times a year and never have a problem finding what I need. I think my favorite service they offer is balloon delivery. Totally awesome when you need a ton of balloons and you know it's not going to fit in your car. I've even ordered balloons for same day delivery. Super happy with this convenient service. read more

AWFUL customer service and experience. Ordered "same day" pickup online on a Thursday and immediately received an email saying the order would be ready shortly and I'll receive a confirmation email when it's ready for pickup. Well given the items were for my sons 1st Bday on Saturday, I started getting nervous by 2pm today (Friday) with no confirmation email. Called the store (Cupertino location) several times and the phone was disconnected. After checking Yelp and the most recent reviews I realized Party City was a disaster and immediately regretted the purchases. Drove to the store to figure things out and was told they had 100 orders in process and I was better off shopping in-store and then getting my online order refunded. After a 40 minute session trying to find all my items (with ZERO help from staff), I checked out. Part of the order was a few balloons. I was then told I would have to wait 40 minutes to have FOUR balloons filled with helium. I proceeded to kindly ask the guy at the counter if they could fill my balloons now and explained my overall experience. It was a cordial conversation and he basically told me, "sorry for your experience but we're understaffed and behind on orders, so no". Oh, also the store is not up to COVID standards. There was a staff member with her mask off. People were not 6 feet apart. None of the carts are sanitized. It's a complete disaster zone. IF POSSIBLE DO NOT GO HERE. If you do, good luck. read more

So I went to buy balloons for my daughter's birthday and this is how she arranged the balloons with black string to make it worse she didn't bother to ask me if it was ok. So I called the store and the guy at the register said they didn't have white string my question is why she didn't mention it before deciding without asking me if I was ok with the black string? This is. one of the few party city's that are still around for how much longer it will be around for who knows ,they used to be everywhere now there is only a few left. I like this location better than the Eastside San Jose one. This place gots everything party related from decorations to costumes to baking supplies. Me myself when I'm having a birthday party I look at the Dollar store first before I come here and just mix some expensive stuff with some cheap stuff cause party's get expensive before you know it. The lines here on the weekends are Usually pretty long so be prepared to wait in line and the parking lot is a little small so parking is a problem most of the time. read more

Bought balloons at Party City, along with about $100 other items for the party in a month, and when I came back 2 days before the party, they informed me that they are out of helium. They also emphatically stated that no one in the area has helium (neither Safeway or the Dollar Store), so I should buy the helium tank and inflate the balloons myself. Yikes! $38 (including tax) for the helium tank. Then, when I go to use the tank, I have a dud! The balloons don't rise they look like they've been blown up with just air. I take back the tank yesterday and explain the issue with the tank and they refund me the $38. However, the real reason for the poor review, the Safeway store in Saratoga on SVL-Saratoga Road in Argonaut has helium!!! I just came from that store and the clerk said they never run out of helium because as soon as they get low, they just order more so they never run out. She said it's not rocket science to be proactive about ordering, but evidently, it is too complicated for this Party City to figure out! Bottomline, get your balloons at Safeway, and don't fall for purchasing the helium tank at Party City. read more

The online inventory does not match the actual inventory at the store. I ordered the item online and selected in store pickup. I received a call a day later, late in the evening saying they did not have the item and that I would have to call them to cancel the call. I called in the morning and waited as the phone rang and played the hours recording in repeat for 15 minutes. I had to drive to the store to talk to someone about finding a replacement and canceling my online order. The manager was indignant and was incredulous that I would be mad that the item that the online inventory said was available was in fact not available. This place is incredibly mismanaged at so many levels. Avoid this store if you don't like having your time wasted. Outside of balloons, most if the items are available on Amazon. Super disappointing customer service experience at this location. None of the employees seem to want to help customers. I went in to pick up an item that was listed as available online and unfortunately it wasn't. I asked an employee at the register (only employee I could find at the time) if there was any back-stock or if he could call another store and check for me and he told me to call myself. No apology or tact. While I was only hold calling another location more employees popped up because a line formed and I was unimpressed to say the least.
