I went to Party City a day prior to needing balloons picked up. I picked out the balloons that I wanted and asked to pick them up the following day at 11:30am. No problem. The following day, I picked up the balloons at 11:30. When I was given the balloons, some looked like they were deflated a bit but I did not fully inspect the balloons until I arrived at the event location. The store was packed and I assumed they looked this way due to the way the balloons were tied together. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. More than half of the latex balloons would not float. I was told the balloons would last for 6 hours and even paid for the additional "hi-float" helium so they would last even longer. We went to get 3 tablecloths and to have 5 pre-bought balloons inflated. We were initially greeted with "Well the earliest we can fill balloons is around 12 noon". This was at 830am, there were no other customers at the counter, and 3 employees available. When we clarified that we only had 5 balloons, they said they "could probably do that." We grabbed the 3 table cloths and checked out. While checking out, the cashier began inspecting our balloon packages. He said the 3 foil balloons we had wouldn't float. He wouldn't even put air in them. He suggested we "just use a straw to blow them up and hang them." Then he picked up the 2 confetti balloons and said "We don't do confetti balloons anymore." When I pointed out that they clearly said on the package FILL WITH HELIUM he still refused. This store is absolutely terrible. read more

Worst experience. Ordered ballons for my kid's 2nd birthday party. I asked for them at 1, but apparently they put 130 in the system. Went to pick them up, they said it would be over an hour until they were ready. How does that even happen?? I wouldn't have it in time for the party or to get ready for the party. This location has horrible customer service and I have reached this opinion after multiple visits where I have witnessed and been victim to said behavior. This is one of those locations where you can tell everyone literally hates there job and you for being there making them work. This is especially true for any employee dealing with balloons. I once witnessed a man trying to place an order that to me was simple enough "fill a box with either pink or blue balloons depending on the babies sex in the envelope" simple enough right? Who hasn't seen this gender reveal?!? Well no one behind the counter seemed to grasp the concept and all the while you could tell they were annoyed with having to fulfill such an order. That day was a very special moment for someone, heck your in the business of special moments and your employees shouldn't be the only sour note in the planning process! Now to my personal experience that finally led me to leave a review. I went in for just one 24inch white balloon to use in my daughters first birthday shoot. I have used these balloons MANY times and have even used helium tanks to blow them up myself for events and so I am very familiar with them. Had the following events happened singularly I might have just brushed it off but when you add them up along with past experiences it could no longer be ignored. So to begin I stood in line while one cashier checked out a very large order and two other employees seemed to be "filling an order" and what I assume to be the manager (simply because of his age) was walking behind the counter organizing? Either way no one looked up to say they would be right with us or apologies for the wait. I have worked customer service when I was young and I know how easy it is to ignore a customer when its "not your job" and I get it your getting paid minimum wage and you simply want to do the bare minimum but the manager should have at least stopped what he was doing and help the people in front of him. He did not. So FINALLY one of the other employees behind the counter filling balloons comes over and says "next" and I walk over with a smile (because I was running errands without my daughter and all you parents know how good that feels) and slap down the 24 inch latex balloon and ask for it to be filled. Now I am known for having the resting bitch face however when working I am sure to smile and look friendly. The cashier however missed that memo. She says to me with a snarl "You know how big that is right" and I say to her with a smile "yes its 24 inches" she continues "its hot out, those balloons pop" to which I say "It will be indoors" at this point the manager seems to take interest and stands behind her while she continues telling me "ok but they dont like heat" the manager then says "as long as she gets it in her car" to which I say "I have an SUV, Iv fit 8 before!" (true story) and he says "good for you" Now take that how you want.. With his tone I took it as sarcastic and in no way praising me or having a sense of joy for the fact that I have fit 8 balloons in my car. I walked over to the balloon station to receive my balloon from the manager and I stair at its size... Remember how I said iv dealt with these balloons a lot? Never have I seen a 24 inch balloon blown up that large. When I got home I decided to measure the thing. For those of you not wanting to do the math a 24inch diameter balloon should roughly blow up to 75 inches around. This balloon was over 90 inches! No wonder your balloons are "popping from heat" they are popping because you are not properly blowing them up and making them so thin that with a little heat they burst! I have used these balloons outdoors in florida, where it was VERY hot. I have used them in a photoshoot in front of many hot flashing lights and I have used them in the dead of winter outdoors and I have NEVER had one pop. I am not saying it doesn't happen but the impression I got from these employees was as if I was a dumb women who doesn't know what she's doing. And if you have such concern over these balloons why do you sell them? Why are they in your balloon bin right out front for everyone to see? If you did not trust the quality of the balloon brand or just the balloon itself then why not voice that to corporate instead of giving them to customers with a warning and what I am sure would be a "I told you so" to follow if it had popped. Needless to say even though I DID fit the balloon into my car we did NOT use it for her photos because it just looked silly. I am however glad this $5 event happened before her actual birthday because I had planned on ordering a dozen of these 24 inch balloons to fill her venue among many other items spending a few hundred dollars and now I will be taking my business elsewhere and buying helium tanks to do the job PROPERLY myself. I love the iParty stores. When you're throwing a party, any kind, it's just so much fun to look around and pick out stuff to get. We went here for balloons - and you wouldn't believe the business they do on balloons. There was a LINE of people waiting for them - and there was a crew of 5 kids working fast to get them all inflated and ready. They have a ton of balloons to choose from - you pick them all out and hand them to one of the kids behind the counter. We were told 15 minutes - so we killed time walking around the store. It's easy to entertain a kid-in-tow in this store - you just try on all the hats and hit them with the foam swords. It's fun. Balloons came out great and weren't all that expensive. A fun addition to any kids' party. Good store - big and clean and fun to look around. read more

I spent well over $200 and I also placed a balloon order for pick up. I had it set for 5:30 pm on a Sunday and didn't realized they closed at 6pm. My niece arrived maybe a few minutes after 6 to get it and they were closed. They should have called and let us know since they did take my phone number down and email. What's the point of taking that info for then!? With all of that being said it was our fault we didn't get it on time but they couldn't even give me a refund for something I didn't even get. The manager was not helpful at all. No customer service whatsoever. This will be the first and last time I shop here. read more

Only two people on staff, both entirely standoffish and rude. The younger gentleman who rang me up gave the prior two customers wrong change (by at least $10), and spoke absolutely nothing during our transaction. A young mother with two children asked very politely if there was a customer restroom, and he muttered "yep" under his breath and continued looking down at his phone, not saying where the restroom was. Spent an outrageous amount of money on a dozen latex balloons and 1 foil balloon last night. The total came to a little over $30 because they charge you $1 per balloon to inflate (ridiculous). Not even 24 hours later and the balloons are already deflated!! Awesome, thanks Party City! read more

I walked into the store and felt like I was being accused as a thief the minute I did. They wanted me to leave my backpack full of important items (computer, ipad, phone, wallet, medications, ect) in front of the door on the dirty floor. I left and won't shop there again. If you don't want to be accused of shoplifting for entering a door, don't go there. read more

In October I went in intending to spend a sizable sum of money for a friends birthday party. Since I was traveling enroute to college I had with me my most precious possessions in my backpack. Upon entering I was asked to leave my backpack on the floor in the front of the store. I expressed my discomfort and was told I had to. My backpack contained my laptop, my Ipod, my phone, my backup drive, and my wallet, credit cards and all. The laptop has of course monetary value, but as a college student and person, academic and sentimental value. They wished me to leave all my stuff on the dirty floor right by the door. They said they would "watch it." I refused and left the store. I assume that they were worried about my shoplifting (as if I could have fit anything else in the backpack). I have never shoplifted. Why should their worries about security come before mine? Certainly my items combined were worth more than anything in the store. Before coming to the internet to express my disappointment, I gave Party City a chance to redeem itself. I wrote to both the store and corporate headquarters. In 6 months elapsed I have not heard back from either. I will not be returning as I will not shop at a store the is disrespectful to its customers and their needs nor one that fails to respond as common courtesy dictates. read more
