The place looks nice inside and out but thats where it stops. The food was ok at best my t-bone was cooked great but the steak was a bad cut they made up for it by putting so much salt and pepper on it you could not taste anything else. (So yaaa) And I am pretty sure my Creme Brûlée was made the day before and microwaved there were hot spots and most of it was ice cold. My wife's lamb chops were good but her side pasta was just a greasy hot mess of tasteless crap. Her Tiramisu was not Tiramisu. Not sure what it was but it was not that. More like a pudding of sorts was ok but kinda odd. The wait staff was nice but for $120 dinner they need to be way better then burger king. Ya see that price way over priced should be half that at best. Outback is a better steak place. O and that cost was for just what i listed and a coke (that i had to keep asking to refilled) and a tea. read more

If you are coming off the interstate and want something better than Camino Real and Toot's this is where you should go for food. Total Bill without tip: $50.15 Number in Party: 3 adults Menu: Think lots of steak, some chicken, crab cakes, and linguini with scallops and shrimp. That sort of menu. Most items come with one side, some do not. I would not call this an extensive menu. Purchased: Two chopped steaks and Gyro Sandwich Review: Husband thought the steak was bland and had to add salt (a rarity). I enjoyed my gyro, although the sandwich did not come with a side ($8). I also had the garlic mashed potatoes and really liked them. The gyro was good. The tatziki was thick and could have used a mild boost. This is basically gyro meat with a small bit of pico added to it, no lettuce or extras. We also had the fried green tomatoes - they were okay. Water, soda and iced tea were our beverages. No dessert. Private areas: They do have a smaller private area for reservations and there was another high ceilinged room covered in wood panels that made me think of a library for some reason. I would not venture to say there is a ton of seating. Their booths are long benches with the other side seated with chairs. There is outside seating up against the parking lot. The new location is very nice and the bar area is well designed.I ordered the Spanakopita and it was great, unfortunately that's when the quality stopped. The Crab Davis soup was ALL pepper and unable to finish. Then I had the rack of lamb and it was a joke. At the price they charge you are safer to go into any Hyatt ot Hyatt Grand chain and get the EXACT same cut of lamb for less than half the price, even the asparagus the served was very over cooked and greasy. I, normally, do not write bad reviews for restaurants but in this market I am doing this so people with any sophisticated pallet please avoid this place and go to "Five Senses" for a nice dinner. read more

The lamb was great! My son had the filet and he loved it, too. We had some kind of ouzo soaked flaming cheese for starters and it was outstanding. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. This is a favorite lunch place, especially if I'm having a business lunch with clients or friends. The owner is very attentive, making the rounds to ensure everything is to a customer's satisfaction. The menu is broad enough so that anyone can find something to their liking, but their specialty is Greek and Italian, for which they have won awards as the best restaurant in the 'boro for over the years. I don't think I've ever had a bad meal...and I typically eat there about once a week. They will also customize meals (I don't like a lot of bread, so I get the club as a wrap). The service is always very nice and helpful. In the spring/summer/fall, their outdoor patio is always a treat to dine in. And their bar dining is a totally separate room from the main dining area. We stopped at the Americas Best Value motel (right next door) for the night. That wasn't the best, but we walked over to the Parthenon Grill for dinner. The bar area looked great. Nice tall ceilings, large bar, lots of raised 2-tops, etc. There was some outdoor seating as well. I had the lamb chops, buttered noodles, and Caesar salad. The portion size for the chops was very good. Great quality. On the downsize, there was a flickering light in the ceiling that was blamed on the dimmer switch. They need to either replace the light and/or the dimmer. The cosmo I got from the bar was good, but $11.25 seemed kind of high even for top-shelf vodka. The big downside is that it down by the interstate and out of the way. It is way out of place between a used-car dealer and a low-end motel. read more

Terrible lunch experience here today. Service was extremely slow and they ended up forgetting to bring the glass of wine I ordered. Our plates were never cleared after the meal and my husband had to finally go and track down the server so we could get our bill. Sure enough the wine was on it. It took 10 minutes to find the server so we could get it removed. We had come in because had a coupon which the manager refused to honor. It had not expired and there was no price minimum written anywhere on the coupon but the manager insisted we had to spend at least thirty dollars. Ultimately we ended up sitting there for another 15 minutes with our uncleared plates, while they bungled our bill. Very unpleasant. read more

Went here for brunch today. Really wanted to like this place since murfreesboro Sunday brunch joints seem limited. I had the chicken and waffle, and oysters along with a Bloody Mary. First of all, the small plate where they sat me had leftover olive oil on it, which wasn't a big deal I just replaced it with one at a nearby table but still gross. The Bloody Mary was fine but had a like in it (why?) that had clearly been sitting out for about a week. Now the waffle was actually good. I wished I had just ordered the waffle with no chicken, though, because the chicken it came with seemed like a breaded chicken piece from a frozen freezer bag and had no seasoning whatsoever. My boyfriend had a steak Benedict, which was fine but the potatoes it came with were below average. Maybe I was expecting too much from this place, but I won't be back. Search for decent brunch in murfreesboro continues, and I will keep going to my Nashville choices for Sunday brunches. read more

I miss the old Parthenon menu....from about 15 years ago. It was much more "Greek"....they had an awesome quail dish, and very good Moussaka. Their Steak Diane is also very good, but I don't know if they still have it on the new menu. Everytime I have gone there, the staff seems to be quite haughty and never made me feel quite welcome. Cousins of the owners used to have a greek restaurant in Shelbyville that I much preferred....friendlier and "greeker"....but they have closed their doors. Okay, so I've been here numerous times with my family and friends, and I can say each time has been great for the most part. Over the weekend I went out for a birthday party and so many things were off... When I got there I noticed there was only 1 waiter for the party of 15 so I knew he was going to be overwhelmed, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. My friend and I both asked for glasses of water, which didn't get to us until the third or fourth time of us asking again. I had also ordered wine (during the beginning) and it did not make its way to the table until the entrees had arrived. Next, I ordered the filet medium rare and once I cut down the middle, I found it to be very close to medium well. The waiter had gotten me and another womans steak mixed up, but instead of presenting the other woman with a fresh steak, he asked us to switch then and there. If I am paying for a steak, I expect it to come in full form, ordered the way I wanted it, not cut up and bitten into by someone else at the table. I work in a restaurant so, I thought this was very unacceptable. However my steak then arrived a few minutes later. It was cooked correctly, however it was cold..... On a positive note, the meiomi wine was delish and the birthday girl enjoyed herself and said her food was good so at least she walked out happy. read more

The Parthenon Grille is definitely in my top 5 places to eat in Murfreesboro. The specials are always very good. I have been there many times during lunch and they are never extremely busy.
