Can't speak for the food here. So my rating may need adjustment. But service was great. And, more importantly, I love the ambiance! It's hard to find spots like this in the city these days. The old antique "Tiffany" lamps etc Can't wait to go back! read more

We're back at one of our neighborhood faves, happy to relax and expecting good food, and we are not disappointed. The place is cozy, especially the rear, and you can eat at the front near the bar and ubiquitous tv if you like that atmosphere. We love the rear. Of course warm Irish soda bread to start, didn't even need butter. He chose the pan roasted half chicken - pure and yummy. Tonight I tried Chicken Hibernia and it's my new go-to. Exquisite poultry perfectly cooked, breast with a wing accompanied by mashed potatoes, a bit of cheese and some perfectly crispy bacon. An odd combination you may think, but it works perfectly. Service is warm, from the greeters to our gracious server and her helpful assistant. No room for dessert but we left completely satisfied. read more

Parnell's Pub & Restaurant - Pubs Near Me - New York, New York

Met some friends here for lunch they have a basic pub menu tried to fish and chips it was just OK. The fish was decent enough but the fries could've been crispier. They have a pretty basic menu but the food was decent enough if you need a place to meet up that's not loud and you wanna have a conversation with other people they can accommodate slightly larger parties read more

Nice old school ambiance wood and Tiffany lamps. Steak sandwich and wings got high marks. But chile was just terrible, basically white bean mush. Beer list is small and margaritas not too good. read more

I ordered delivery and I specifically wrote to not ring my doorbell or knock and to leave the food outside my door. I also have a written sign on my door that is very large in case they do not see the note. I have a dog in my household who has a degenerative spine disease and sudden noises startle him which can cause him to rupture his spine. The delivery person ignored not only my special instructions on the delivery but also a written sign on my door and rang my door bell multiple times... Extremely disappointed and may not order from here again because of this. I also spoke to Grubhub and the delivery person is through their restaurant directly. If the person does not speak English who is delivering food, someone from the restaurant who does should make sure they read special instructions before something is delivered... I asked for no salt on my fries, was a ton of salt on both. read more

Basic pub food with horrible service. Shocking they have stayed in business this long. So many great Irish pubs in midtown east, but this isn't one of them. read more

We would have liked to have had dinner at Parnells last Friday evening but could not negotiate the entrance safely with a rollator. People stopped to help us but we decided to find a restaurant with better access considering that we would have to be able to safely exit and that too would be risky. Please make your restaurant more accessible. Considering the aging demographic in the area - likely a good investment.... read more

Sometimes words can't explain when you are disrespected buy stuff at your neighborhood place food was decent service absolutely garbage

I sat at the bar and the bartender gave food but never asked me if I wanted anything else not even if I wanted anything to drink - I was at a bar! He delivered my food with a dirty looks and he never asked me if I needed anything. I ate my food, he gave me dirty looks, then laid my bill down without asking if I wanted anything else or anything at all. Sadly the food was good. Just get rid of the bitter bartender and the place would be good. I'd like to add that while writing this review the bartender again didn't ask if I wanted anything, he tried to take my bill and told m he thought I wanted to leave because "I'd had a sip of my drink." I've not said anything to encouraged his poor behavior. I've said yes, no, thank you, waffles, that sort of thing. Being here feels like abuse and I recommend going anywhere else but here. read more

Ambiance was great over all. Cozy and played good music. It was a little dead but everyone that did come eat seemed to have enjoyed themselves. Nice place to mingle. Service was good, gave you time to read over the menu. The starter bread was near hard, and the butter was super cold hard to spread, not my favorite. I got the grilled pork chop, it was cooked well but I think it was missing a little spunk on the flavoring. Rice was good, and the Mac and Cheese was cheesy but it tasted bland if that makes sense. More of the cheesy texture but the flavor was not there had to add salt to at least enjoy it. My man got the short rib special for that night. He said it was great, tender, lots of flavor and great parings! read more

Cozy spot and surprisingly busy. There was a steady flow of customers when I went there for lunch. The Guinness was cold and the tuna sandwich tasty. Looks like they expect a lot of people for St Patrick's day. read more

This is by far the best Irish bar and neighborhood dining spot. The food is delicious, plentiful and the wait and bar staff are simply the best; and the prices cannot be beat. Why anyone would wish to dine elsewhere is beyond my comprehension! read more

Whomever is answering the phone is rude and unprofessional. Not a good look for a neighborrhood pub.

You should consider this neighborhood pub for a lunchtime destination. Decent select of drafts and liquor. Food as well. Service is quite good. However, food is only fair and surprisingly no specials at lunchtime. 9 dollar drafts are a bit steep for a local hangout. read more

I was glad that this restaurant had great COVID friendly seating options - as my group and I sat outside since the weather was beautiful for dinner. I got the cheeseburger, and it was pretty average and I asked for medium but it was borderline on rare - way too pink for my liking. I also thought my beer (Stella) was flat. In addition to the average food, I thought our waitress was friendly but once the night winded down and we were 1 of 2 tables left in the whole restaurant, we had to flag her down for the check. I wish the service was better (more checking in on our table; faster with giving the bill), but overall pretty decent place to grab a quick bit to eat and some drinks with friends. read more

Went here for a Thursday night dinner and the place was pretty full, and got a seat right away. Ordered their cheeseburger with blue cheese. Average burger but hit the spot and definitely satisfied my burger craving. Asked for medium and it was more medium-rare, I didn't mind but I'm sure some will. Comes with Cajun fries. I did outdoor dining and they have a very solid set up with lots of seating. Good vibes for outdoor seating and warm weather for sure. Staff was attentive. Food was solid not spectacular, overall a solid pub. read more

Okay went to this place it's close to home. It's dog friendly outside seating. The lunch special is awesome for 15 dollars a soup salad and your meal. I had the bangers and mashed it was delicious. Place has a great vibe inside. Plus it looks like they have music in back room. I'll defer back to try more lunch items and definitely a dinner. read more

Have been going to this restaurant for many years and visited recently and the chef who is currently there is very good. I had the half chicken, moist and Delicious. We need to talk about Parnell's burger, WOW!! I had been only one other time and recently made my way back, decided to get the burger and was blown away! It has everything you want in a burger: juicy inside, a bit crispy on the outside, and full of flavor! For all the grandstanding that happens for other UES establishments burgers, which frankly are quite disappointing, this one actually delivers! read more

It's like "Cheers" without the laugh track, and WITH food. Excellent food at that! It might be one of the friendliest places in NYC.

It's a great place to get a refreshing drink and sn or quick bite. We had gin and ginger ale, and Guinness with shepherd's pie which we shared. The shepherd''s pie was so good and the service was great. We really had a great time. read more

This place seems to be hanging on by a string. They were almost completely empty so social distancing was no challenge. They said their gas had a problem and were waiting for inspection so had limited menu and I have sympathy for restaurants now and am supporting all local businesses and tipping generously but the food was horrible. It had stale flavor and no presentation. Our waitress disappeared and I saw her having a smoke down the block but no one checked on us for a good half an hour. Also it was quite noticeable that I only took a bite of my food and no mention was made if it was ok. I'm sure it was fun and busy before COVID 19 but these guys need to get with the program. I see a lot of people complaining about stale bad food and bad service so give something if you want to keep going. Probably a good place for a beer but that seems about it, especially with so many choices. read more

I've come here few times already. It's an Irish place so don't expect something different then Irish food which is pretty good at least in this restaurant. Their shepherd's pie and burger are the best. I come for brunch and dinner and most of the time is full, they have nice servers specially Alicia which is super cool and HELPFUL. Ambrose and Colon are the bartenders, both are very nice guys. I didn't rate 5 stars because the place needs maintenance and the light inside is very dark. Other than that it's a nice place to go if you are in Midtown. read more

Friendly local pub with a great comfy bar to eat at and watch a ball game. Burgers were just ok. Sandwich was just ok. Not cheap, but this place is more about the ambiance and being comfortable sitting at the bar and chatting with the friendly bartender then getting good chow. This is one of our favorite pubs in the Midtown East area. Nice bar, pleasant atmosphere, good draft beer. The food here is definitely more than just a pub menu - there are specials every day, and the kitchen puts out good food. We especially like the short ribs, the steak, and the chicken. Really good burger here as well. Service is phenomenal - since we come here regularly they know what we want to drink as we sit down! read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. I waited a long time to be seated and had to finally just sit myself as I waited for my friend for brunch. The free mimosa with my egg and sausage scramble was good. I also enjoyed the sweet bread. Price was good. Place was packed. Many older people who seem to know the staff in the back room. You can get unlimited mimosas in a two hour time period for a set fee. I did not opt for that. I might come back, but hope service would be better. read more

First and last time getting food here. I was excited to try this place as we've heard good things and it's only a block away from our apartment but we're very disappointed. We called in to see if they could make cheese quesadillas for my girlfriend who is a vegetarian since they only had chicken listed on the menu. They offered to put beans and corn salsa in it, which really appreciated. We ordered a steak sandwich medium rare which came with spicy fries on the menu. We picked up our meal but needless to say the quesadillas were simply cheese, steak sandwich was well done and mostly fat and just regular fries, not spicy. It looked unappealing and tasted even worse. We'll definitely not be back. It's a shame since we had high hopes. read more

Surprisingly good place for brunch. We sat outside on a warm end of summer afternoon. We ordered off the brunch menu (one item and one free drink). I got fish and chips and Bloody Mary, hubby got a fried chicken sandwich with bud light (either bud or Miller to choose from the free beer). My Bloody Mary was not worth the calories but fish and chips were so good! They also gave us warm soda bread with butter to start. The bread was so good and our baby thorough enjoyed. Will make this one of our brunch places in the neighborhood read more

This review is based on just one seamless order. I'm a huge Mac and cheese fan so when I saw short rib Mac and cheese, I was sold. When the delivery man arrived, he called and said he has waited five minutes and rang the doorbell and no one answered, so I went outside to see what the problem was. Yeah, he was on the wrong street. You don't see that everyday. The food itself was a little less than average. First off, it was cold. Maybe was the wait...from being on the wrong street. The short rib wasn't really cut up at all and was super chewy. The Mac and cheese itself was ok at best. Nothing special. The serving portion was the best part. I'm not planning on ordering from this place again. read more

This place screams TRADITION... and looks as though there are still some of the original customers! It's low-key with a music room in back ($25 minimum) and a comfortable front area, also reservable. Neither the beer selection (Irish... like the bar) nor the food selection is spectacular-- though the wings do have a nice kick-- but the atmosphere, and coziness of the place makes up for it. It's a nice place to go with friends you want to actually TALK to. If you're looking to impress-- or drown out the friend with THAT voice-- you need to go elsewhere. --Drink Club NYC is a roving group of NYC drinkers, a different bar every week. read more

I love this place... The Bar Staff are simply awesome and it is like walking on to the set of Cheers at the bar. The food is amazing... My only point of difference, is they have live music in the back that is an open mic type of evening and it gets way too look loud. I respect that people are enjoying themselves, but I must admit I leave early to avoid it. Otherwise ... I love this place! read more

This establishment had zero consideration for the general public. They place their signs in the middle of sidewalk for the general public to navigate around. No respect for the community. No place better for a cold drink or some great eats. Friendly staff. It is a Authentic NYC local pub. Yes everyone knows your name. If they don't when you walk in for the first time.
