You can stay in here with advance reservations and be right next-door to Ralphies house from the fabulous movie, a Christmas story. there are sure to be barking dogs inside, but I'm sure they're not real. What a fabulous place to stay if you are in Cleveland and a super fan of the movie. The area around it has the Christmas story house, the Christmas story museum, and the Christmas story gift shop which I think was my favorite part of this trip. If you are in town, don't forget to stay in the Bumpus house.

Plaque in lobby says it is owned and operated by Carnation Properties. Got a cancellation email from the manager Cynthia Eckrich sent12:45pm. She blamed our cancellation on an error on their booking system. Can't help but wonder if she cancelled me because I paid in bonvoy points.

My daughter and I stayed at The Cleveland Hostel for a 4 day/3 night getaway, and we were within easy walking distance of all the restaurants we wanted to try, and within easy driving or public transportation distance of all the sites and activities we wanted to see and do. If we would have stayed one night more, we would have loved to cook in the eccentrically, but well, appointed kitchen and to eat on the rooftop. I would recommend this charming, clean, friendly hostel to anyone who wants to venture a little off the beaten path in Cleveland.

It was pretty cool to learn that the building is a restored 1930s-era Board of Education building. I saw that the hotel was not only a great place to stay, but also that there was so much to do within a reasonable walking distance of the establishment. I arrived at the hotel late at night and was warmly greeted by a staff member named Mario. I greatly appreciated his patience with me as I sorted everything out while preparing to check into my room. Since this was the first time I had ever done anything like that, I liked how Mario let me take my time to make sure I was doing everything correctly and signing anything that needed to be signed. During my time staying there, every staff member was friendly and was fun to talk to whenever they were not busy. The room was clean and perfect for one person, with plenty of space and a comfortable bed. While I spent much of my time in Cleveland in my hotel room, it was still an amazing visit, to say the least. I liked their breakfast selection and the bar they had. I had a Caesar salad because I had to wake up early the next morning to catch a flight back home, and it was great. All in all, it was a great first experience staying in a hotel by myself, and I would like to give a shoutout to every staff member who made me feel right at home during my stay in Cleveland. Clean rooms, slightly warm indoor pool, basic breakfast, and a standard lobby with friendly staff. Rooms have a standard amount of wear. Some of the bathroom fixtures were showing signs of damage, corners have dings, ceilings have bald spots and patches, nothing is dirty but everything just has those signs of use. None of it is offensive. with these styles of hotels having the same rough layout, it highlights the minor cosmetic flaws. Beds were firm, pillows were somewhat flimsy, and delivery services refused to go inside to drop off food. But the front end staff were very friendly and hospitable. All in all, it's effective as a close-by airport hotel. Nothing flashy, but affordable and functional. Go in with minimal expectations and you will find just enough to be satisfied.

The room has great views and lots of windows that let in plenty of natural light that make lounging inside enjoyable. We ordered room service and had a fun time drinking and eating surrounded by the beautiful artwork of Mr. Van Gogh. The soaking tub was nice and the bed is very comfortable but, like most of the other reviews say, the cars revving up and down the main drag all night are very noisy. The hotel leaves ear plugs on the bed but since we were in town for leisure, we didn't really use them.
