    Nice room

Thank goodness. My faith in Marriott properties is starting to rise back up from the ashes. That said... I have to give Yelp a shout out here because I double checked Yelp reviews prior to booking my stay in Cleveland. This property had consistently positive reviews and many were recent. Check in was easy, friendly and quick. The lobby is open, spacious and clean. There are some good snacks to choose from in the market area...which we took advantage of since we were too tired to go to a restaurant or even wait for takeout/delivery. The room was clean. Sheets and pillows were clean. Towels were clean. Floor was clean. I didn't need to clean the toilet like I did in the last hotel! It was clean! It made such a huge difference after a 12 hour drive to arrive at a comfortable, clean spot. Very easy to access off the highway as well. Easy parking. Complimentary breakfast...it's a buffet (which is weird to me due to Covid), but it's available. I think I'll start to book Springhill properties as I continue to travel in the future. And, of course... I will double check reviews here on yelp.

Springhill Suites is awesome and this one is no exception. Stayed here while in Cleveland and everything was extremely nice and clean. Although now they don't really do housekeeping because of COVID, everything still feels very clean. I appreciate how new their bathrooms are, especially the shower. I think typically the suites are a little bit bigger, but there's still adequate enough room to move around with a whole desk area with a microwave which is nice. I think its interesting that they still have complimentary breakfast. Although now I think they have way less options, its still nice to wake up to strawberries and eggs. Also really appreciate how their lounge/lobby area has outlets for work stations. Always so impressed by Springhill Suites!

We love the SpringHill Suites in general, and this one stacks up to our expectations. The pool area was well-stocked. The spa didn't have a timer like you usually see, so I don't know how long it stayed on. We left before it quit. The seating inside the spa wasn't as deep as usual so we found ourselves having to adjust the way we sat to get our shoulders in the water. Otherwise great experience staying here for several nights!

First time staying at a SpringHill Suites - I typically stay at other Marriott branded properties - so no surprises overall. Overall, room was clean and comfortable, AC worked well, bed was comfortable, and the WiFi was reasonably fast. The only thing I will ding them on - is the shower stall had some cleaning/maintenance issues - some mildew buildup. I let the front desk know upon checkout... #SpringHillSuitesIndependence

Do not stay at this hotel. Seasoned traveler got taken for a ride... We checked in late after 10pm. Walking in my room barefoot I had sticky muffin crumbs sticking to my feet. Took a shower and no soap in the dispenser. The next morning we headed out for a few hour, so I consolidated my sleeve wallet with my large wallet, but I left $50 in my sleeve wallet. The hotel does not have a safe in the room, but I advise them to install safes ASAP. Slide my wallet into my backpack, sipped it up, and turned it upside down on to of my suitcase. We proceeded to leave the hotel, but I stopped off at the desk and asked if someone could vacuum the carpet and put soap in the dispenser. Came back a few hours later to find my backpack was flipped over and gone through. My money was gone, my wife check her purse and found the money she had in a side pocket was gone. Fortunately we only had left $60 in our "secured" room. I notified the hotel staff and the knew who they sent to my room (not disclosing the guy's name), and said they have had problems with him. The following day I spoke to the hotel manager, and she said an investigation was being done, and they would be able to check video footage. The response I got was the "issue" and the "employee" had been dealt with. I was offered to receive $60 in points to compensate me. I was not pleased with the clear need to show no liability and that I could have $60 worth of points. The manager did say she was so very sorry, but I'm not sure what she was sorry for as she refused to say what the "issue" was to me. No accountability, and after repeated request to speak to a higher up manager I never received a response. I hope the manager sees this review and knows that I'm not going to just be brushed off like I must have misplaced my belongings. I spent over an hour at the police station filling out a report during my vacation. All I have to show for it is this Yelp review.

I stayed here for a short time while doing some sightseeing in the Cleveland area and I had a nice stay at this hotel while I was here. What was even better was that I stayed here entirely for free since a have a ton of Hilton Honors membership points. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful, and the landscaping and grounds here are pleasant and well maintained. There are a small number of parking spaces in the front of the hotel for handicapped people and for diamond members of Hilton, and the majority of parking for their guests is on the sides and in the back of the hotel. As I checked in I was greeted by two ladies who were both professional and friendly. They greeted me kindly and gave me a key to my reserved room. Upon entering my room, I was immediately pleased. It was clean, nicely decorated, and well organized. The bed was incredibly comfortable and there was a sofa/chair in the room that reminded me of a chair you would sit in as you see your psychiatrist. Although this was a little funny, it was incredibly comfortable to sit in while watching TV. In my hotel room there was a small refrigerator, a nice TV, a hairdryer, a small/personal coffee maker, an iron and ironing board, and all the things that you would expect to see in a hotel. Unfortunately, there was no microwave in my hotel room, which was disappointing because I use a microwave daily. There is a microwave available in the lobby for their customers, but this is an inconvenient option if you use a microwave frequently. My room was quiet and enjoyable, and I felt safe during my stay. I really liked the bathroom layout as well, which was well decorated and very clean. While staying here I really enjoyed the free breakfast in the mornings, which was well-stocked with lots of good options. I was also appreciative that this hotel offers a selection of free coffee options throughout the day, which is a must for a true java-head like me. My check out was smooth. The young lady that checked me out was friendly, but I did think it was a little unprofessional to see her snacking on the free hotel breakfast while checking me out. Overall, I enjoyed my time while staying in this hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

Front desk staff was absolutely amazing and kind. The cafe staff were sweet and helpful, although it was unfortunate that nothing was available except for Starbucks and the quick serve. I had arrived hungry, and had to order Uber eats for lunch. That in itself is not an issue, I might have done so anyway. The fitness center is small, but very well equipped to get in a nice workout. Full selection of free weights, a weight bench and elliptical, peloton, and two treadmills. I would absolutely stay here again if I was in the area, it's conveniently located to plenty of nice restaurants for a night out, also.

Checking in was a breeze. Took only a few minutes to verify reservations and was assigned a room on the 5th floor. Front desk staff was very nice and helpful. The room even had a balcony for some fresh air. My only complaint was the USB and power plugs on the nightstands intermittently worked and the plug was not securely attached. Aside from that little quirk this property offers decent amenities such as pool, jacuzzi, gym, and clean common area. I would stay here again.

My dad had called to pay for the hotel over the phone and one of the workers were rolling their eyes and mouthing "oh my god" to the other workers. Pretty unprofessional if you ask me. Couldn't catch her name because they don't wear name tags. Also there was a black lady up front as well who did not seem to enjoy her job whatsoever. This Comfort Inn is ideally located for anyone coming to the National Park. It sits close to the north entrance, less than ten minutes from the northern visitor center, with most main features of the large park less than a half hour drive away. On one of our days here, our outdoor activities were rained out. We impromptu-decided to go to the Cleveland Museum of Art instead, which we were happy to discover was only about a 25 minute drive from this hotel. So Cleveland city attractions are reasonable drive from here too, if you are in the area for that reason. Regarding the hotel itself, we had a good experience here. The desk staff was friendly and helpful. The facilities were bright and clean. Our room was a standard Double/Double. The room wasn't huge, but spacious enough for our fam' of four. The bathroom had a large glass shower. The shower door was heavy and didn't slide easy. But the shower itself was clean and hot. This Comfort Inn has a nice seasonal outdoor pool that our kids enjoyed very much during the hot days of our trip. Another nice feature of this Comfort Inn is they sell alcohol at the front desk, something I haven't seen at many other Choice locations. Single-serve wines, bottles of beer, and an assortment of liquor minis ran about $4 each. One qualm about this hotel is there doesn't appear to be any Queen/Queen rooms available at all. We are longtime Choice Privileges loyalty club members, and I picked this location for the pool and proximity to our attractions of interest. But a double-bed is a hard sell for the hubbs and I, as we both like to splay out like frogs when we sleep, haha. It's too bad they don't have any Queen/Queen options for families here. Overall we were pleased with this Comfort Inn. It is a two-minute drive to many dining options, both sit-down and drive-thru, and in a great location for visiting tourist destinations in the Cleveland area, particularly the National Park. I would stay here again, especially in the summer when the kids can enjoy the nice outdoor pool area.

I stayed here while spending a three day weekend exploring Cuyahoga Valley National Park. While my…read moreroom itself was fine, other things ended up making my stay less than ideal. Even before my stay started there were signs that it would not be peaceful. The check-in process did not go smoothly, both because the staff did a terrible job telling me what they needed (example: they did a bad job communicating when they needed my signature in multiple places on a form) and also because there was loud music playing directly overhead during the entire process. It was a frustrating welcome to the hotel. The room itself was fine - very average. Typical uncomfy king sized bed (as I loooooove a soft bed), typical crappy pillows (seriously why are they always thin to the point of being flat?), and the typical accommodations from a desk to a dresser to a TV to a fridge. The bathroom was small (just big enough for the shower and toilet) and the sink was set up outside of the bathroom itself. This wasn't a problem for me since I was traveling alone, but I can see this making it more annoying to get ready in the morning if you're in a group (since it's nice to have counter space in the shower area to set down clothes, makeup, etc.). There was no housekeeping while I stayed here, which stuck out to me since I couldn't even find a placard to put on the door saying no housekeeping was needed in my case. I have no idea what the policy is and what that means for folks who do like daily housekeeping services. I opted to skip the free breakfast...better to pay for decent food elsewhere than settle for bad free food, in my opinion. Getting in and out of this hotel was just a pain. There's only one road in, and then when you drive out you're forced to wind around a restaurant across from the hotel and drive down to another road entirely. The true dealbreaker, however, is that this hotel seemingly has zero soundproofing. During one of my two nights here, the pitter patter of little feet in the room above me woke me up. And the pitter pattering never stopped. I have no idea what was going on in that room, but it seems like someone's kid got the zoomies at 1:00am and they never settled back down. It didn't get better after sunrise, when even louder footsteps in the room above me (presumably as they all packed up) guaranteed that my morning was not a peaceful one. The only reason I got any sleep that night was because I always travel with earplugs. But if it takes earplugs to get some rest in a hotel, then your hotel has completely failed to deliver on its most basic service: providing a place to sleep and rest while we travel. You probably guessed by now that I won't be back, and the next time I'm in the area my priority will be finding a different place where I can get a proper night's sleep!

I saw the two star rating and expected the worst but this was the only place I could find with availability. All I needed was a shower and a bed... how bad could it be? Terrible. Even their current two star rating is too high. The entire place reeked of weed. It was so overpowering I had a headache within 20 minutes of being in the room. I opened the window, put on the AC, lit a candle AND sprayed air freshener. The room was incredibly musty and dirty and my shoes were sticking to the tiled floor in the room when I came in. It was absolutely disgusting. There were streaks all over the mirrors, sticky spots on the floor, dust flying off the vents, ugh. They charged an additional $25 pet fee on top of the price of the room cost which is standard but this room wasn't worth $25 itself. The "Wi-Fi" is insecure and basically non existent. It's so slow I had to use my own data just to check in on Yelp and even when it does work for a second or two it kicks you off every few minutes and you have to sign in again. It's not worth it. I have up and decided to shower and go to bed so I could leave early but there was no soap in the room. There was one small shampoo sample and a lotion sample. Luckily I travel with my own hygiene products but it's still disgusting to me that people are getting rooms with no soap in them. The shower was horrible of course, zero water pressure and a strange texture on the bottom of the tub that was kind of slimy like if they had resurfaced the tub but not done a good job. And the cherry on top was getting to dry off with a tiny hand towel because the actual towel they gave me clearly had someone's makeup wiped off on it (See photo) and I didn't want to dry myself with someone else's used to towel. The bed was oddly uncomfortable, there was a hard section on the outer right edge, so I kind of rolled into the middle and I was able to fall asleep. Unfortunately that only lasted an hour or two and then around 12:30 a.m. I was awoken by at keast a half dozen people in the back parking lot playing music and smoking so much weed it was coming through the cosed window for hours. By 2 a.m. they were gone and I did fall back asleep but believe me, the minute I woke up, all I wanted to do was leave. I walked right past the "breakfast" which consisted of some old bagels and cereal dispensers (absolutely no hot food) and got out of there. Believe the reviews! Sleep in your car if you have to.

My daughter who is 20 decided to leave and head back to the hotel with my son and his friend. I stayed back to wait for boxes and my tab and said that I would be headed back soon. As I am in route to the hotel from dinner, I get a call from my daughter who at this time had been back to the hotel for maybe 20 minutes. My daughter Layviell says "Brittany sent the security guard to the room because you left your ID at the front desk." I call Brittany at the front desk to tell her I am in route and as soon as she answers she says "hello?" (Improper). I say "hello???" (Is this Residence Inn?). Brittany proceeds to say "You have to come get your ID!....See this is what I was talking about!!! You left your son unattended!!!!" I proceed by saying "How did I leave my son unattended and my daughter is an adult?" Brittany says, "Well I am calling the police." (My reservation was for 4 children and 2 adults in which 1 adult and 4 children were in the hotel room during this time.) Once Brittany told me that police were headed to my young adults who are again 20 and 15 years of age. I began to speed to try to get to the hotel because I am scared at this point not knowing how this situation is going to go because my children have never had to be in a situation to this capacity with police officers. The police got there before me of course and made my children very uncomfortable and nervous. Everyone was escorted out of the room by the time I arrived. I go to the front desk and ask to speak with Brittany and was immediately told that Brittany was no longer there. Brittany was Indeed there and hiding in the back room. My boyfriend and I asked Phyllis, John and the security guard what was the reason for us being evicted and they all said they had no clue. I am not sure how someone is evicted with no reason. Brittany made fictitious police report due to her being coerced to act out someone's prejudices and/or her own personal bias. Brittany was nasty from the time I entered until the time she had me removed. Brittany ruined my son's 15th birthday and made this such a traumatic experience for all of us. Caused so much stress and anxiety within those few hours. Due to us being removed with no explanation I decided to go back on 12/9 to get my questions answered, my concerns heard and to ask when I would receive a refund. Upon my entrance Brittany refused to service me by locking the doors to the lobby. I immediately picked up the phone and she answered. I asked why she locked the door as I only wanted answers to the questions that I had. Brittany proceeded to say, "This is not Brittany this is Tiffany." I asked, "So why are you locking the door?". Brittany then acts like the phone is out of order and proceeds to hang up. Since this situation occurred, I have reached out to Marriott's customer service and have not able to talk to anyone with any resolve. I also spoke with General manager Anthony who said that he would call me back and have not heard back from him either as my concerns continue to go unheard. I finally received an email back stating that the general manager said we were evicted due to smoking, a party going on in room and me leaving children left unattended. There was no party as there were less people than my reservation stated and there were no children left unattended as my daughter is 20 years old. This situation saddens me that it is ok for Marriott and their employees to mistreat loyal customers. I am currently in process of filing federal complaint. My son is now deceased and that was his last bday and this is the memory that we have left on the last memorable bday.
