It's possible that many of my issues were simply bad luck out of Akian's control; but the number of them still leaves me somewhat skeptical. ----- Got central heat/AC installed a year ago; installation dragged way over the predicted time, but was otherwise fine. Expensive, to be sure, but you expect that in these parts. "Free" annual maintenance time? Four house calls later, still have no AC (I think it worked before being "maintained" but if it had an issue over the winter, I wouldn't know), which I'm now told will be the case for the entirety of May. Communication has been dismal- e.g. getting a text for an upcoming appointment nobody told me was even a thing (apparently the maintenance wasn't completed and nobody told me). Multiple "whoops, we need to order a part, we'll call you in a week or two". Why a part gets ordered on the fourth house call? Beats me. Why they can't stock parts for the products they themselves install? Beats me. And I've paid for a surge protector as part of this "free" process (why wasn't it included initially? Who knows!) If you want to be stuck in a 95-degree house, I recommend Akian. If you want new people coming to your house to chat every week, I recommend Akian. If you want to actually get working HVAC, please let me know who I can talk to. But I guess most of the people I've talked to have been very nice. If they ever manage to get their act together and do their job, I'll update this review.

I left a voice message and then received text communications coordinating a visit with a 3 hour window for the next day. Closer to the appointment, I was able to narrow down the timeline to know their eta. The young man who came out was polite and professional and efficient. He was able to clear the trap and vacuum out all of the hair/soap-scum/toothpaste that was causing the clog. They invoiced us through email, charge $250, which we were able to pay with a click. I would definitely use them again for responsiveness and ease of use.

The first plumber came to inspect it on Monday and politely told me he didn't want to do it as it would be too difficult. Then a second plumber came on Tuesday. He checked our pipes and said the same thing. Two days later, I received a bill from Casper Plumbing and Heating for $400! What the hell! This is ridiculous!  I would NEVER do business with this company again. If anyone is looking to have plumbing work done, I would suggest you hire someone else.

He just recently installed the final touch for a whole home portable backup generator at my home, a new 3/4in gas line basement run to supply the generator (or maybe a deck grill someday), the inspector was very accomodating and approved the work quickly! He has also previously helped with regular maintenance like water heater anode rod replacement and a few gate to ball valve replacements for leaky or seized water valves. See photos below of the gas line connection and whole home portable backup generator setup. Apparently it's "unusual" here in MA to have whole home portable backup power (Costco bargain!), everyone is told a $15k concrete slab generator is the minimum, at least, that is what Castle Electric said to me! Do it yourself for a 1/3rd of the cost with Marks help and skip the upselling from the "other" options out there!

I've never had a service person arrive at the time they said they would, but these guys were prompt. Not only that but clearly they knew what they were doing because Paul (who has over a decade of experience) and his assistant/apprentice, Matt, removed the leaky disposal and installed a new one in under 10 minutes. That must be up there in some kind of Guinness book of world record, no? Their fees seemed to be in line with other company quotes I received for the same service. The hot water on my third floor was not fixed and I told him that i'd take care of the bill when the job was complete.
