They already came highly recommended, but when I reached out, they were SO nice. They came out as quickly as they could (most companies told me 2-3 weeks!) but they called me several times to give me updates as to whether they could try to get to me even sooner than my scheduled appointment which was only 1 day after I called! Joe and Corey were truly amazing - firstly, they were incredibly communicative about their ETA. When they arrived, they did a thorough diagnosis of the HVAC unit and even took the time to explain exactly what they were doing and why. They took care of the issue with ease and made a lot of recommendations to prevent future damage. They also offered to look at some of the other AC parts and my AC filter just to make sure I was maintaining everything properly - a service they did not need to do or take more time for. They ended up staying just chatting about best practices and were just about the friendliest repair people I have ever dealt with. I own two properties and have been through SO many bad or iffy contractors and repair people so it's such a relief to find reliable and high quality service providers. I will use Fong and Sullivan every time I have an issue and cannot recommend Joe and Corey enough.

They installed a Heat Pump System in my Condo Unit Sometime late August of this year, 2017. The Heating portion to be used only as a back up/ secondary system. After Installation, the System was tested for AC only. As explained to me, my Primary Oil radiated Hot Water would not kick in due to the time of year. I attempt to turn the heat on, as the cold weather has set in. The primary system will not turn on (at all). I attempted to contact Ritch Tierney HVAC multiple times via phone, text, and email. They finally responded, twice. The first to say they were coming over, the second to postpone and reschedule. I haven't heard from them since. I have asked the MA Dept. Of Consumer Affairs, as well as the BBB for help with this matter, to no avail. Ritch Tierney has been given ample opportunity to make good. Not only have they not responded to my emergency request, as my family and I are using other sources for heat. My understanding is that to date they have not responded to Consumer Affairs nor BBB. I sincerely did not expect this business to not honor our contract and be just a collect ($) and retrieve establishment. If this is how the treat their customers, particularly on the very first service call, this is definitely a business that one has to stay away from!!

Portable space heaters are being used during these cold winter days and nights, just to make the condo bearable to live in. I decided to…read moreinquire about the furnace tune up which require me to be on a service contract with them which is understandable. First time my furnace got tuned up in Jan 2021, my Nest thermostat end up not working after it was tuned up. It can't be a coincidence that it stopped working after the tune up. I call Atlantic to have them come back and take a look and was told the issue wasn't cause by them. I was also charged like 150 for having them come back to look at the issue they probably was caused by the technician. I ended having to buy a brand new Nest thermostat out of pocket. I was assured by Atlantic the oil prices would be competitive with other companies. In the past I have checked their price vs other companies and it was in the same range. But May 2023, I got oil auto delivered at a 3.59/gallon for 133 gallon for a total of 479.03. I checked other companies like Eastern Petroleum, they were charging 2.62/gallon!! I would have paid about 356 for the same delivery. To me this is unbelievable that there is a huge proce difference among other companies. Normally the invoice they drop off would have the price summary but this last delivery didn't have it at all. Why was this price summary left off on purpose?? I got same invoice via email when the delivery was just finished and it showed the breakdown. I decided to call Atlantic to cancel by service contract and told them the reason why. This was an opportunity to make things right and try to retain me as a customer. But there was no resistance so the service was cancelled and they told me thank you for having them as an oil provider. I can say thank you for ripping me off!! You will never have me as a customer ever again.

My tank never dropped below a quarter full, and the delivery dudes were like ninjas. The big issue I had was after my introductory twelve months, I got the Comcast treatment - prices jacked up, my annual free inspection evaporated, and I had to call three times to get an involuntary maintenance fee removed from my bill. In the end, oil is a commodity, and most companies offer a similar auto-delivery service. As it goes, I found another biz with a similar offer; however, the new biz lets you pay online (AP is USPS only), and even their list price is $0.20 less per gallon than Atlantic's going rate. The tank's an eyesore, and I need to modernize, but til then, it's a battle of who will charge less.
