Our family rented the fishing pontoon for several days. The boat was great and the staff were very professional.

Terrible service. Run down buildings & property.Cranky old lady running the place that can't see and is technically challenged when it comes to computers. Was threatened to haul out my boat and charge me for towing and storage fees then when I called her and said I sent those documents twice she said she couldn't open the attachment. I sent again, got the threatening email, called her and she said "oh, here it it is I sent that out before I opened your message". Never apologized. Run by young kids that don't forward messages and cause misunderstandings and additional charges. read more

We rented a pontoon boat on a Saturday July 6, 2024. When you rent from these boating houses you often get their worst boats unless you pay top dollar. Our boat had a 20HP engine and it took forever to get places we wanted to go. Overall the day was good. However when we got back they stared processing the boat in and fill it with gas. I went inside and the girl said $44 dollars. I asked how much they charged for gas and she said $5.40. Now the national average for gas is $3.50 with California, of course, the highest at $4.78. Parkway Marina is charging MORE than California. It is over $2 more per gallon than the price of gas in the area around SML. Why? Because they can. They can steal from people because they can. That fact alone is the reason I will NEVER rent from Parkway Marina again. It speaks volumes about reputation of the people that own and run a business. Thieves. Also, they are saying tat we used about 8 gallons of fuel. Doubtful. read more

Rented a boat for the day and was accused of damaging the prop. Luckily I took pictures before we left in the morning or else they would have tried to charge me for the damages that I even made them aware of before leaving. Not the way to do business. The owner, James, was very rude and literally yelled at me because his staff interrupted him when he was busy doing something else because they could not answer my questions. The boat was supposed to be a premium boat but it was obviously old, was much slower than it should have been and vibrated and sputtered at full throttle. read more

My husband and I were in town for our 20th Anniversary and we rented a boat from Parkway Marins. We had a wonderful time on the water. I was hesitant to rent a boat from Parkway Marina because of the negative reviews. I was desperate for a last minute rental and they had a boat available the same day that I called. My experience with Parkway was exceptional-it was a flawless experience. The boat rates are very reasonable-they only have full day rentals-no half days. We got there, they reviewed safely procedures and we inspected the boat. Landon suggested we take a picture of the motor for our protection from liability. The marina is located on a beautiful part of SML with great mountain views. We cruised around for several hours and easily made our way back to the marina. Landon inspected the boat and we paid about $37 ($4.40 a gallon) for gas, which they pumped. Perhaps Parkway Marina has heeded past reviews and made changes. All I can tell you is that I couldn't be happier and have zero complaints. I will definitely rent from them again. read more

I feel that $205 is a good price for a 24 hour pontoon rental, but perhaps they get some of that back with the $4.29 gas you buy at the end. Fortunately, we only burned around 7 gallons. Overall, my boat was in better shape than the steaming heap that I rented at Bridgeport Marina last year, but the steering was tight and the transmission and shifter were pretty sloppy. The nav lights didn't work and there was no anchor initially, but both items were remedied promptly by the pleasant staff. Lauren was especially helpful and professional. The checkout and check in process was fairly smooth. BTW- I don't believe that they rent Jet Skis or Waverunners here. I still don't think that I've found the "perfect" place for boat rental on SML, but it's been a fun process so far. Having recently rented boats twice now, my key pieces of advice are this: spend a little more for a nicer boat and ask for the current fuel price in order to get a better idea of your total cost. Also, get there early in the day. Reservations can get messed up and no one wants the "last boat." Call ahead the morning of to let them know that you're coming. read more

Initially I was nervous about renting a boat from here because of the reviews. Luckily I had a great experience. We rented one of their 2018 Pontoon boats and it was gorgeous. We paid $200 for an all day rental and I think that's pretty reasonable. Gas was around $3.60 so when we turned it in, we only paid $20 in gas. The customer service was great as well. One of the worst experiences I have ever had renting a boat. We rented a boat that was already damaged and upon returning we were met with a $120 fee for scratches on the prop that were previously there. We even took a picture of the prop before and the owner still scammed us out of an extra $120. Owner was very shady and would not work with us or be reasonable upon returning. This marina has a perfect spot on the lake - the views are awesome. That's why we decided to have our wedding here. There is a squarish point that looks at the mountain and wide open lake. There is also a permanent pavilion setup and a carousel if that interests you. We've attended a few events here over the past few years. Most notably a Bass Master's series event. They did a nice job with setup, and the locals came flocking out obviously. They're not coming back this year, I'm sure they'll startup the tournament here again in a few years, if you're around, definitely hit it up, it's neat. There are always events going on here during the summer, car shows, fishing tournaments (lots of fish around here), and weddings. It's worth checking out any of these just for the views! There are a few houses nearby that are used for vacation rentals including the Jolly Roger. The management at Parkway Marina is friendly. The events are arranged through Ronnee who is nice and fairly diligent with keeping records and keeping in touch with you. That's all for now, stay posted for post-wedding reviews! read more

We usually see fireworks every year from the water. The lake offers lots of activities and there are usually several fireworks displays in the area. Our family has boats but you can rent many different types of boats from the marina. The view is awesome. There is a venue for special events such as weddings, photo shoots, parties, etc. read more

First time as captain of a boat and had the best time. SML SP Ranger recommended Parkway Marina. Price was extremely reasonable compared to others and service could not have been better. A full pontoon boat overview was given and all questions answered. Never felt rushed or as if owner didn't care about our business. Super friendly and very knowledgeable. Boat was updated with newer motor and new prop, radio and trim. Sure gas was expensive but any station perched over a beautiful waterway is going to be that way with all the rules and regulations involved. Not out of the ordinary and at less that twenty bucks an hour for daily rate including gas and tax it's a steal. Would absolutely recommend this business to family and friends. Had a great time on the lake and fantastic day and will be back next time we're in the area. read more

If it was possible to give a negative star, this place deserves just that! The pontoon boat we rented for two weeks was disgusting.. Moldy, ripped seats, stained carpet, with gates that were almost impossible to maneuver! Not what one would expect for over $1800...if I had been w/husband when he picked it up, I would have cancelled the reservation upon inspection. To top it off, when we returned it, the staff who had already noted a chewed up prop in our contract, had the nerve to charge my husband another $150 for damaging his prop more he said! We should have taken a pic of prop when we first got it and he never would have pulled such a shenanigan on us. I can't imagine why anyone would rent from these crooks, but if it's your last available option, be sure to protect yourself w/pics of boat and prop. Too bad we didn't take any pics because the old adage a pic is worth a thousand words really hits home w/this corrupt business! read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. The owner of the marina is Racist (I am an Indian woman and my father-in-law is Native American), very rude, and used profanity with us when our lives and our $25,000+ boat was in danger. We had our boat docked about a mile away from the marina and the wind had gotten so bad our bass tracker started taking on water. The boat almost went completely down. We finally got enough water out of the boat to take it back to the marina to get it on our trailer. We are aware of the "no wake" law and have come to this marina for many years now for vacations about twice a year. We had gotten near the marina when a man started yelling at us from the dock. As we got closer we realized he was yelling at us. We were not even going fast enough to cause wake that would disturb the rentals and other boats in the marine. We were just trying to get our boat out of the water. He started yelling at us and using profanity. We explained the situation and he responded with "you should have put the plug in" obviously we are not stupid and had the plug in the boat before we put it in the water. We got angry and started yelling back at him and using profanity. He informed us that he was the owner of the marina and we were not welcome here anymore. We informed him that our lives and our boat was in danger. He said it did not matter because we were disrespecting the law. I'm sorry but no business owner should treat anyone like that especially when our lives are in danger. He could have tried helping us or even stopped yelling and be quiet. That really left a bad taste in our mouths and we will not be going there again. If you give this place your business please be sure nothing unexpected or life threatening happens or you may face the same disrespect we did by the owner. I do not want to destroy their business but please be cautious of the owners temper and how he may desirespect you. It really bothers me the things he said to us and I really hope no one gets to feel the way I do right now. read more

I rented Parkway Marina Pavillion and 5 acre point for my daughters wedding reception and it is a wonderful backdrop for pictures and fun. Everything went as planned till a big storm hit just before the guest arrived. The staff at the marina were there quickly and worked to get us a generator when the power went out. They did this while they did not have power at their own store and pumps. They checked on us several times and I appreciate all their help. I would highly recommend the Marina for events. read more

I reserved a pontoon boat from Parkway Marina for the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. We were on our way to the lake when the marina called to tell us that they did not have a boat for us to rent. They were "sorry for the inconvenience" but the 7 engines that they had ordered for their boats did not come in on time and there was nothing they could do for us. Of course every other marina at the lake was completely booked because it was a holiday weekend. So we drove all the way to the lake only to find out that we would not be getting a boat for the day. They did not offer to rectify the situation in any way. All I got was a half hearted apology. I feel like if they knew there was a problem with their boats and there was a chance that they would not have a boat for me that they could have at least told me that. I even called the Friday before to confirm my rental and they said "oh yeah, you're all set for Sunday." We had friends visiting for the weekend and we were all looking forward to spending the day on the lake. Due to Parkway Marina's dishonesty and bad business we packed the car and drove an hour to the lake only to have to turn around and go back home. I am very dissatisfied with this Marina and would not rent a boat from this place if they were giving it to me for free! read more
